"this sound a little like some songs off led zeppelin's physical graffiti album that ..blah,blah blah..these hair styles were relics of the early 70s and it hurt the credibility of this kind of music that disappeared by 1983. still a good sound though." sounds a little likeLed Zep granted but sufficiently different to be judged on it merits . long hair was and still is appropriate for rock which still lives despite the tendency of wank radio stations to not play any rock.
Im not Canadian, but gotta agree that Canadian rockers never get enough respect,..solid track from back when you had to be good just to land a record deal,...
great song but they looked hideous then and still do. an early 70s look for an 80s song that seemed to incorporate an excerpt of a rolling stone song at one point.
fuck rap and black-produced rock. then, now and always.
@The096757 Song came out in 79 and probably recorded in late 78 and their look was pretty much on par for the late 70's which imo was a little more modern than a lot of bands at that time.
@The096757 you missed the point entirely. they were paying homage to the beatles and the stones by incorporating the riffs of daytripper and satisfaction into this one. btw, this was released in '79, so technically it's a seventies song ;p
i never heard of the rolling stones letting anyone use their material. maybe the RS thought their best days were over by 1979. the hairstyles ended this music more than the sound did.
this sound a little like some songs off led zeppelin's physical graffiti album that was out about 4-5 years before this which was a huge gap in time back then. and yes, these hair styles were relics of the early 70s and it hurt the credibility of this kind of music that disappeared by 1983. still a good sound though.
@ultrakool I disagree, Rush was declining imo by the early 80's. April Wine were an ok basic hard rock band but could never crank out shit as heavy as 2112 or Hemispheres for a couple of examples.
@steelflame1 well, good point, however, where did the early hair bands (e.g., ratt, et al) get their sound in the early/mid 80s from? it sure wasn't from rush. aw started a precedent for hair metal, if not inventing it ( in sound only, minus the image)
@12enegadesoffunk shut the fuck up buddy classic rock is some of the best music ever im 15 and i dont give a fuck if you wanna chirp april wine and this other kid go down and say it to their faces bitch
@dc8078 It is; LeStudio in Morin Heights, Quebec, which now sits abandoned, unkept, all but totally forgotten. Rush occupied LeStudio to record "Moving Pictures" immediately after April Wine wrapped up their own "Harder...Faster" session.
Great band...'on record' is their best album and probably the most underrated hard rock album ever...but I like even this song and this video as some other April Wine LP
i guess 5 people dont like to rock......it sucks for me to be growing up in a generation that will be remembered for rap and pop....my dad has this on vinal....and ill tell ya'...this record is awsome from start to finish....not a bad track on it.....keep rockin my friends!
After all these years...man o man....April Wine band if you are listening...you totally formed my preference in music. I even see Modern Metal playing catch up to April Wine of 25 years ago. Quite possibly...and even maybe without notice...April Wine was one of the most influential bands of all time.
@Pom07Kev16 "day tripper" by the beatles and "satisfaction" by The Stones. both meshed with the April Wine riff of this song. I always thought that was badass how they did all of em together!!!
When I saw where they were recording this, I remembered a Rush video that looked like it was recorded in the same studio, "Le Studio." Look up Tom Sawyer by ruchrules and you will see it on that video to. Also, look up Le Studio on Wikipedia. A lot of great bands recorded there.
To see only 201,470 is a shame for this kick ass band. This band was was under rated back then and these day's.I grew up listening to April Wine when they were jamming at our high school in Moncton N.B Canada and if more people would listen to all their music I know they would have more fan's.They have so many hit's ever since 1969 when the formed so people, listen to more April Wine, another Canadian band that never got the exposer they deserved.Peace out man..
Classic Canadian Hoser Rock, especially the part where they stop rockin' out long enough to play some table top hockey and make a cup of cocoa. Seriously, COCOA! Too bad there were no doughnuts .

If these guys had of been from the more accepted countries in music like the US or England they would have been one of the mega bands of their day , they put out an awful lot of really good tunes
This song came out wayyy before I was born.....but I can tell you this is how rock should be! Awesome! Just wish there were more bands like this around. Me being Canadian...just makes it even better :)
This song was the SHIT back in thr day...2 go out in a souped up muscle car and blast this song with the windows down doing 100mph down the freeway while playing the eight track (of course) ! Good times 4 sure!!!!!! This song will ALWAYS Rock and I still love April Wine. They had a gang of good songs!
Yeah-I missed out back in the day -had my own band &contract & was surly about some 'purty' Canadians, but, DAMN they surely do rock & and just got thsmokin syncronicity & real talent 'n soul out of the gates! If these guys had of been from the more accepted countries in music like the US or England they would have been one of the mega bands of their day , they put out an awful lot of really good tunes

Yeah-I missed out back in the day -had my own band &contract & was surly about some 'purty' Canadians, but, DAMN they surely do rock & and just got thsmokin syncronicity & real talent 'n soul out of the gates!
