  • Cast all borders aside - this shit rocks!

  • April Wine!! Damn good old rock & roll band! Great Bass riff! Thanks for posting!

  • Doesn't the studio their playing in look a lot like where Rush played Tom Sawyer ?

  • @mike939 I was just thinking the same thing. =)

  • @mike939 Oh, sorry, I was just tjinking the same thing, AAY

  • @mike939 that's because it is! Le Studio.... cool eh?

  • True is what DerSwine sez: rockers of the North ['cept Neil Pert] are mostly ignored. April Wine does do rock, so there!

  • Qu'est-ce une chanson kick-ass! Nous avons tous l'aime tout simplement, et ainsi de comprendre la musique pendant toutes ces années!

  • @pthalocyaninine Yeah! (I think)

  • I like it .....you like it!!

  • OUTSTANDING ~ STILL !!!

  • Im not Canadian, but gotta agree that Canadian rockers never get enough respect,..solid track from back when you had to be good just to land a record deal,...

  • Canada FTW

  • Journey To The Stars...Rock N Roll Guitars...Oh yeah, that's definitely a way to rock.

  • Hey wait a min, thats my Loop shirt

  • A Loop shirt. Lol

  • hey hahaha its so cool its stupid

  • Looks like it was taped at le studio , pretty sure we have seen the backdrop before on a rush video.

  • Beatles, Stones & April Wine all in one tune! Great!

  • always revisit this ,... its the best.

  • 79 Z28 t top , 1130 pm , 4 pioneer ts-6907s , 2 clarion up front, clarion amp & eq maxell metal tape ..... those were good times with great music.

  • Wearing a Loop FM Shirt One of the best rock stations ever!!!!!!

  • CLASSIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I Like To Rock!!!!!!!!!!!! Great Tune!!!! Still sounds just as good as it did when it first came out.

  • I like to rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. a classic!!!

  • Thank You. Way Too Cool. You Rock! Thanks, Again. :)

  • the drummer looks like Allan from the Hangover.

  • April Wine has way better hair than Rush

  • Nice that the band rush was mentioned. Good bands keep great company..

  • APRIL WINE KICKS ASS MAN!!!!!!!

  • great song but they looked hideous then and still do. an early 70s look for an 80s song that seemed to incorporate an excerpt of a rolling stone song at one point.

fuck rap and black-produced rock. then, now and always.

  • @The096757 Song came out in 79 and probably recorded in late 78 and their look was pretty much on par for the late 70's which imo was a little more modern than a lot of bands at that time.

  • @The096757 you missed the point entirely. they were paying homage to the beatles and the stones by incorporating the riffs of daytripper and satisfaction into this one. btw, this was released in '79, so technically it's a seventies song ;p

  • @ultrakool

i never heard of the rolling stones letting anyone use their material. maybe the RS thought their best days were over by 1979. the hairstyles ended this music more than the sound did.

  • @The096757 the hair styles ended this style of music? that is the dumbest comment on youtube i have ever seen

  • this sound a little like some songs off led zeppelin's physical graffiti album that was out about 4-5 years before this which was a huge gap in time back then. and yes, these hair styles were relics of the early 70s and it hurt the credibility of this kind of music that disappeared by 1983. still a good sound though.

  • WTF...the're Jammin together until the final 'best' verse..."Satisfaction"and etcc

and they switch to the guy ridining his bike to the lake.!! LV AW...but this Vid suuuuxxx!

  • rush couldn't even hold these guy's dicks in the late seventies. sorry, rush lovers. rush came back strong, in the early eighties..no denying ;p

  • @ultrakool I disagree, Rush was declining imo by the early 80's. April Wine were an ok basic hard rock band but could never crank out shit as heavy as 2112 or Hemispheres for a couple of examples.

  • @steelflame1 well, good point, however, where did the early hair bands (e.g., ratt, et al) get their sound in the early/mid 80s from? it sure wasn't from rush. aw started a precedent for hair metal, if not inventing it ( in sound only, minus the image)

  • @steelflame1 Not really fair. Both great bands but with different styles.

  • This ROCKS!

  • The singer looks like my dad.

  • classic!

  • Saw the boys this summer in Summerside....unreal Canadian band!!!

  • @12enegadesoffunk shut the fuck up buddy classic rock is some of the best music ever im 15 and i dont give a fuck if you wanna chirp april wine and this other kid go down and say it to their faces bitch

  • is this the same studio that tom sawyer was filmed in looks like it

  • @dc8078 It is; LeStudio in Morin Heights, Quebec, which now sits abandoned, unkept, all but totally forgotten. Rush occupied LeStudio to record "Moving Pictures" immediately after April Wine wrapped up their own "Harder...Faster" session.

  • @SenorSpode And both incredible albums!

  • All of my graduation class from 1975 loves you: thanks for all the great music!

  • Well allright!!! I LIKE TO ROCK>>>>>>

  • now I know where 80% of guys picked up their air guitar poses...

  • ow yea dis is rooooooooockin babeh

  • Great band...'on record' is their best album and probably the most underrated hard rock album ever...but I like even this song and this video as some other April Wine LP

  • Yaaaa....I LOVE TOOOO R.O.C.K. \O/ \m/

  • five people don't like to rock...

  • Comment removed

  • Table-top hockey likes to rock too.

  • I guess 5 "like to suck cock"

  • @ThePatrickmolloy HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  • i guess 5 people dont like to rock......it sucks for me to be growing up in a generation that will be remembered for rap and pop....my dad has this on vinal....and ill tell ya'...this record is awsome from start to finish....not a bad track on it.....keep rockin my friends!

  • @freebirdXB - rocker's blood hand shake my son - from one of rock's older sons ;)

  • @TheJazzocaster And believe me....ill pass this music on to my own.....keepin' it alive

  • Beatles and Stones interlude at the end is brilliant! Great, great band and totally underappreciated.

  • @fitrunner2500 - not under-appreciated by old school 70s-80s rockers - and true rockers everywhere! AW was all over the radio back then ;)

  • I LIKE TO LISTEN!! LIKE IF YOU AGREE!!

  • Oh look, 5 dumb asses who don't know what great music sounds like!

  • Great song! Bass player a little too theatrical in this video. a little weird.

  • APRIL WINE NEVER GETS OLD!

  • Nice Chicago Loop (WLUP) t-shirt at the beginning. :)

  • After all these years...man o man....April Wine band if you are listening...you totally formed my preference in music. I even see Modern Metal playing catch up to April Wine of 25 years ago. Quite possibly...and even maybe without notice...April Wine was one of the most influential bands of all time.

  • Was that Allen from Hangover 2 on the drums? That makes this song/video doubley awesome!!

  • I cant help but tap(more like slam) my foot to that awesome rhythm.

  • I first listened that in 1982... still have that LP now ;)

    PS

    beautiful final since 4.00 ;)

  • This house was used in Rush's Limelight video. Rush's was done in the winter.

  • @Badz62 - Correct, Specifically, it's the studio where each of these bands recorded - Le Studio, Morin Heights, Quebec.

  • @ 4:00, I can't get no satisfaction?

Great Song, i heard it on the radio and loved it

  • @Pom07Kev16 "day tripper" by the beatles and "satisfaction" by The Stones. both meshed with the April Wine riff of this song. I always thought that was badass how they did all of em together!!!

  • you should have been their

  • GOOD TIMES

  • Just plain and simple strait up Rock-n-Roll. This set up is just priceless as this song is timeless. Folks this was the great days of real Music.

  • Jerry Mercer, My most favorite drummer after Neal Peart, played the baddest drum solo I have ever seen. April 1982 in the Denver colliseum.

  • I miss those day so very fucking much!

  • the ending is SO ironic. they like to rock, yet they sit around eating doughnuts, drinking coffee, and playing hockey.

  • @tehhkrmn65

Yeah. That really ruins the video.

  • @tehhkrmn65 NO.... they were getting ready to Pen their next hit song.

  • @tehhkrmn65

    Cause they are Canadian

  • @groovy4 I know that :P that's what I would do after the show, just hang out.

  • RoadKill!!

  • i wish i could just get mangled and kick in some heads that deserve smashing faggots like justin beiber long live rock n roll

  • When I saw where they were recording this, I remembered a Rush video that looked like it was recorded in the same studio, "Le Studio." Look up Tom Sawyer by ruchrules and you will see it on that video to. Also, look up Le Studio on Wikipedia. A lot of great bands recorded there.

  • Great song. Lame ending to the video.

  • Saw them at the TeXXas jam in 1980 ......Badass !!!!!!

  • Saw them at the TeXXas jam in 1980 ......Badass !

  • To see only 201,470 is a shame for this kick ass band. This band was was under rated back then and these day's.I grew up listening to April Wine when they were jamming at our high school in Moncton N.B Canada and if more people would listen to all their music I know they would have more fan's.They have so many hit's ever since 1969 when the formed so people, listen to more April Wine, another Canadian band that never got the exposer they deserved.Peace out man..

  • I'm tired of this shit. I enjoy rap and hip hop. And I also really enjoy THIS music. Can you fuck off with your prejudiced bullshit, please?

  • Isn't that Geddy Lee's house?

  • @USgovernmentLies They add "Satisfaction" by The Stones at the end, too!

  • Boston meets Lynyrd Skynyrd...

  • True to my high school when this came out: I just want to weigh some bud up on a scale, and smoke it: Rock on: good song!

  • Saw these guys open for Styx in December 1979. GREAT SHOW! Just a good ol' rock and roll band.

  • these guys can STILL rock it out!!! i seen them about 5yrs ago at the North 40 bar in Brandon MB and they rocked that place all night!!

  • Good ole canadian hard rock man i loved this guys when i first heard them way back then on the now defunct WABX out of detroit love their big sound .

  • excellent, excellent song--not a wasted note.

  • Fan-fucking-tastic! Guitarmonies rule!

  • I like His Loop shirt! Chi- Town

  • Are these guys still performing ??

  • Classic Canadian Hoser Rock, especially the part where they stop rockin' out long enough to play some table top hockey and make a cup of cocoa. Seriously, COCOA! Too bad there were no doughnuts .

  • Quinta sential ya

They were like the Canadian Beatles we don't care about fuck all I guess

  • Quinta sential ya

  • Its really awesome winding up on a plane with the whole band :) to bad jerrys not there, but i did get all to autograph for me :)

specially sitting right there beside them :)

  • Any dislikes for the song, you suck! Go back to listening to your rap and hip hop.

  • @pballaddict Just because you're insecure about your own taste in music, no need to push hate onto other genres like hip hop. Plenty of great hip hop groups. Why can't I like both? Annoying.

  • Comment removed

  • @pballaddict "Go back to listening to your rap and hip hop." What's this "if you could pay any kind of attention" bullshit? You can't even read what you said yourself.

Funny, you got so much negative feedback that your comment was actually marked as spam.

Someone clearly didn't get enough love as a child, so much aggression.

  • @l2enegadesofFunk Negative feedback. Only from 1 other pole smoker like your self. Put your skirt back on and the tampon back in. lol!

  • @pballaddict Not really, it was flagged when I got here, so that means multiple other people found your petty name-calling to be droll and unnteresting. Your boring take on attempting to insult people is so unoriginal I think I may have seen it on Saved By The Bell. =[ "NO DADDY PLEASE DON'T LEAVE I LOVE YOU" Poor guy.

  • @l2enegadesofFunk lol! I'm so hurt. More people agree with me and your sorry ass is watching saved by the bell. Loser!

  • @pballaddict More people agree with you...not really, your comments were flagged, retard!

  • Comment removed

  • @pballaddict i listen to rap and hiphop and this genre of music so stop being such a dick

  • @gotsk81ca1 Goody for you. It doesn't change the fact that rap and hip hop suck! You ass clown!

  • yes the 70's were the best after the 60's keep pushin

  • I grew up during the age. I'm a 90's baby that hates much of today's music. I should have grown up in the 70's and 80's.

  • All around an incredible classic rock song by an incrdible canadian rock band. Proves rock is world wide.

  • they liked "day tripper" :-)

  • Great song and neat video, just good ole boys having a good time.

  • Nice music, nice quality! Keep it up!!

  • SO COOL!!! At the 4:00 mins mark, they combine both riffs(!) The Beatles' Day Tripper and The Rolling Stones' Satisfaction simultaneously played side by side! And it works beautifully!

  • Old scholl baby.............MTV should take look at what a music video is.

  • i like to rock, i like april wine

  • One of the best bands to see alive...seen them at McGuffy's House of Draft in Dayton,Oh. about 15 some yrs. ago..couldn't keep my eye's off all the lead guitars..like one after the other...got all their autographs afterwards..they was all down to earth...To see them alive is something i'll never forget.

  • I recognize the place from the Rush video's. Kick ass band! I always liked among others, there cover of "21st Century Schizoid Man" (by king crimson)

  • 1 of my all time favourite bands

  • Miles can sure make that Strat growl, can't he????

  • Le Studio fuckers!

  • saw them open for loverboy way back when. they were by far better than loverboy

  • An absolute classic. They don't do it like this anymore.

  • Without a doubt, one of the finest moments in Canadian Rock ' n ' Roll history

  • That's a lot of hair...

  • @Nexus974

it was all about the hair(pre aqua-net)

  • omg! I have never seen this video before! this is awsome! takes me way back in time when I was in HS.

  • Yeah!! Lo mejor es que al final de la canción se escuha el riff de "Day tripper" de The Beatles y "Satisfaction" de The Rolling Stones.

  • I've never heard this version... and I had the album. Weird.

  • I just saw the window frames before clicking on the video & knew that was Le Studio.

  • kick ass vid and song ROCK N ROLL FOR LIFE BITCHES

  • Compare this video to Rush's "Limelight".

  • I'll put these guys against any band today. Saw these guys in 81 with Eddie Money opening. 3 large screens as back up and alot of visuals. The bald drummer was a rarity in his time for both appearance and style.

  • WOOOOO WEEEEEE THESE GUYS CAN ROCK AND ONE OF THEM IS CUTE, I LOVE HIS HAIR DOOOO LOL. THE GUY IN THE ROW BOAT!!

  • WOOOOO WEEEEEE THESE GUYS CAN ROCK AND ONE OF THEM IS CUTE, I LOVE HIS HAIR DOOOO LOL.

  • If these guys had of been from the more accepted countries in music like the US or England they would have been one of the mega bands of their day , they put out an awful lot of really good tunes

  • oh yeaahh.

  • This song came out wayyy before I was born.....but I can tell you this is how rock should be! Awesome! Just wish there were more bands like this around. Me being Canadian...just makes it even better :)

  • This song was the SHIT back in thr day...2 go out in a souped up muscle car and blast this song with the windows down doing 100mph down the freeway while playing the eight track (of course) ! Good times 4 sure!!!!!! This song will ALWAYS Rock and I still love April Wine. They had a gang of good songs!

  • Still a kick-ass song! It doesn't hurt that I'm a Canuck as well....;-)

  • Yeah-I missed out back in the day -had my own band &contract & was surly about some 'purty' Canadians, but, DAMN they surely do rock & and just got thsmokin syncronicity & real talent 'n soul out of the gates! My belated thanks & apologies for some of the best rock n roll anywhere any year! d. pATRICK
