This is the first time I've heard this track fully, i.e. with end effect, and it sounds even better than it did thirty years ago. Really sharp melodic guitar, good bass - not too overpowering, and minor keyboard wizardy. Should have done better than no.22 in the charts. 1981 saw some really original stuff in the charts and this single illustrates it perfectly.

I knew a bloke Vic Nap from Woolwich. This song reminds me of Vic. 2 gangs composped of 14. It could have been a big fight. I walked up to Vic, who was the leader of his gang. Pat Garaty was our leader. I said, Wot you drinking." Instead of putting the bottle over my head, he said, "'ave a taste mate. Mackinsons." I called over the chaps and the lot for us got on. 28.
