  • Thanks to you I could made lips for my Monster High doll! You are brilliant! Thank u so much!

  • could you tell me what is that yellow item? I can't watch clearly. Is it pencil?

    And thx

  • does anyone know if you can get the doll's make-up off? (on purpose, obviously)

  • @kurousa13 they keep metion Mr. clean easers take it off maybe check into that? hope it helped

  • where do u get the head?

  • hey, i have a dilemma...ok...so i was Mr. Cleaning my dolls face (around his lips) and got distracted. When i looked down i made a clean spot on the very edge and wiped off some of his gloss...is it ok just to blush the spot, regloss it then apply a layer of Mr. Clear...it sure would b a shame to have to look at him everyday with a sore on his lip. thanx....

  • @pimenel If you can match the color, do it. If you can't you may want to take it all off and do it again, or commission someone from the den of angels forum to do it for you.

  • ..i been researching and i think i can get it...otherwise he looks like he has a cold sore on his bottom lip. thanx.

  • Thanks so much for this video! You make it look so easy! I'm not really scared to do it anymore... other than I'll have to have small details cause Mines a 1/6, I'm practically building it my self... so this helps a lot! *starts searching for the eye tutorial* Wish me luck! :)

  • its sounds like the head is porcelain are all the heads porcelain?

and does the make up and eye brows stay on?

  • @kougamae Polyurethane (sp?) Resin not porcelain. Certain things like markers will actually stain the resin, so it's not hard to get it to stay on even without spray coatings.

  • I'm thinking of getting a Doll but i didn't want to pay for a head with a face-up. So this helped a lot. I'll probably study this some more before I actually decide yo faceup so I don't ruin my doll. XD Thanks for the Tutorial. ^^

I was wondering wondering will this work for a male faceup?

I'm new to this and all. :P

  • Would anyone happen to know I could buy one of these Dolls?

  • Wow! She looks so pretty! Do you know anything else that can be used for glossing the lips! Cause I can't find what you were using where I live!

  • You'll probably have to buy it online

  • will you be doing any more?

  • Nice tutorial. So you pretty much just apply the make up and it's not really permanent? Interesting about the sculpy glaze. I learned a lot here. ^^

  • Cool : D

  • is all of this easy to take off ?

an so you dont need that mr clean stuff ?

if ur doll comes woth a face up can u take it off an do ur own ?

im so scared of doing face ups

  • it don't scrub off east but with Mr. Clean it does,

Yeah, you can take it off if it comes with it,

Don't be scared just try your best :)

  • thank you so much i will try my best and hope i get good at it and my doll doesnt look like a raggamuffin when i do it lol thanks again

  • It looks so easy, I'm not scared anymore! XD; So, the Sculpey glaze doesn't smear the pastel?

And what about coating the rest so it doesn't wear off?? *super new to all of this*

  • are you going to do the part for the eyes soon? is the brush the same kind you use for lips or did you use a different one?

  • I would except I am currently experiencing a lack of camera. :)

Yes, if you wash the brush off really well so it doesn't become hard from the gloss, you are fine to use the same brush for both.

  • witch brush

  • u could probobly get all of these things at an art supply store

ur tutorials are very simple and helpful thanks for it. i don't have a bjd yet but i hope i get one for christmas or birthday!

    ( ^o^)

  • you are very talented. how tall is the doll that you are doing the faceup on right now? is it a 60 centimeter? 40

  • It looks like a MSD to me which is a 40cm sized doll. They tend to have smaller, younger looking faces.

  • SD Megu.

  • Very helpful... :) look forward to the eye tutorial ^^

  • I love it! It's simple but very cute. :D I liked the idea of using a makeup sponge for the cheeks, It's simple and easier than using fluffy brushes xD

  • i searched a bunch of tutorials and this is a to shop for list i have so far :3

    matte sealent

    watercolor pencils

    chalk pastels

    acrylic paint

    NOTHING OIL BASED

    sculpey glaze

    makeup sponge

    blush brush

    flat tip brush

  • Yes, that should be good.

  • SWEET

  • @xXkodokuXx Thank you so much, have been trying to create a list of face up supplies and by far you list is the best. Thank you soo much

  • this is a really cute faceup. :3

I just have one question: where do you get this mr. super cleaner? oO

    thank you :3

  • I get them at WalMart. It's just a Mr.Clean sponge.

  • we dont have any walmart here. :3

Im living in germany so some online shops would be more interesting for me

    but thanks ^^

  • what is the glaze, is it sculpey glaze???

  • where can I buy a doll head like hers online

    please indicate me a site

  • This one I bought from volksusa . com

I have another one that I bought from dreamofdoll . com.

  • what kind of eraser do you use? i only paint my dolls so i really havn't used chalk before....

  • it looks like she's using a plastic eraser of some sort, but you could probably use a kneaded eraser, too. it'd be a bit more gentle.

  • hey nice work! can u plllzzz tell me if i buy the face/head on volks do i have to buy the skalpel/knife so they cut the eyes????they r soooo confusing me with these"tools and materials" option and do i have to buy these brush so they would make the face up that i want ???!!! plz help me!i dont know if i have to buy all that other stuff?! thnx alot

  • No. You can either order an off the shelf model (cheaper) that you like and simply repaint it yourself, or get a more expensive FCS doll that they'll paint to your specifications.

To be clear, you do not need to buy a single thing other than the doll itself. Everything else is used to customize it yourself once you recieve the doll.

  • I don't really know much but most companys make them pretty individually as in they're not mass produced. (which explains the price) So there's many different places where they're made.

  • can I use acrylic paint to paint a doll...if not what paint can I use besides chalk pastels?

  • You can use acrylic and watercolor for paints.

  • thank you :)!!

  • can I buy chalk pastel at a store, or they only sell them online?

  • I found mine in a craft/art store, so I'm sure you can find them in a store.

  • Is that a bird in the background? or am i crazy? i hear this high piched squeal...

  • Yep, in the top right corner, you might be able to see the cage. I have two budgies.

  • where do you buy you doll heads from?

  • volksusa . com is the only place I've bought from.

  • Does the Gloss come off the lips easily? I know to use a matte or flat MSC spray and I really like the glossy lips but I want to be sure that the lips won't stay glossy forever.

  • Thank you so much! I was interested in creating my own doll but I didn't know where to start. This really helped! Now I have only one question...those are oil pastels that you are using correct?

  • No, chalk. Oil will stain the resin and will be near impossible to remove.

  • Thank you for the warning!

  • wow, this was very helpful, thanks for posting it up ^^

I have a question though, using pastels, can you remove it or wash it off?

  • I'm new to the whole face-ups too but i found out, just like she uses, an eraser is the ONLY thing that will get those pastels off. I tried a whole bunch of things, like heavy duty paint removers and only an eraser will get it off. Hope it helps!

  • some water and a mr.clean brand eraser (it's a white scrubby thing) will work and won't damage. I just use a pencil eraser to do detailed work.

  • how much do dollfie cost o.O

  • Depends on the size, but for almost all of them usually more than $100.

  • So in no way, shape, or form does the products that your using harm the doll? Because I heard the whole thing about the pastel(scary!). I'm buying my first doll on my birthday (Sept 13) and I want to do my own faceup but I'm a little timid, but you make it look so easy!!! Take me on as your apprecntice!

  • I think only people who have used oil pastel have stained the dolls skin, but it has not caused a problem for me. For getting better with faceups... I draw anyway, and people tend to be my main focus, so I guess just practicing to make everything look right on paper helps with faceups. What I do when I'm trying a new kind of face up is draw the design out first. It helps to get the color and such to balance out nicely. Especially helps with the archs of the eyebrows.

  • how to you keep it so the chalk doesn't rub off? or does it just stay on the faces?

  • You use MSC, aka Mr Super Clear. Its a spray thing to cover it.

  • It stays on fairly well alone, and as long as you're just not touching the face alot it usually stays on for quite a while. Using the msc is going to make it so it doesn't smudge.

  • Thanks for putting this up! xD;;

What other options are there for glaze? Can you get such things at a craft store?

  • hey! what about the eyelashes n all????

  • Oh My god.

    I want one so bad.

But I'm a poor college student.

    T.T

  • Great tutorial!! Fast & Easy-learning. ;)

  • how do you get in the eyes???

  • Like remove the eyes? Just take off the head cap. Sometimes companies will put hot glue in (like volks sometimes does) and you just have to remove the hot glue to get to the eyes.

  • what did you use for the lips? i need things that i can get in canada

  • I'm not sure of the brand, I bought them a long time ago and they're not in the original package anymore. But it's just a red stick of chalk pastel. Just make sure that you don't get anything with oil in it. :)

  • wow your really good and you did it really fast

  • Nice job!

    It's in my favorites... xD

  • vrey nice,

a great way to do face-ups without all the fancy junk :]

  • These videos were really informative, you do your faceups a different way to the way I do mine and its great to find out what techniques other people use!
