This brings back so many memories, I LOVEd coming here as a kid i reconize all the employees, the last time i was there when i think i was 13 or 14, I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
hmmm. when you say 15" gauge, are you referring to the piston diameter, or the track width? Because i looked it up, the track width for a full scale train is 56 inches. Sorry, i'm not familiar with scale trains. I know that scale steam powered traction engines are measured in piston size. thank you for the reply!
The term "gauge" when referring to trains, is the distance between the rails. The term "scale" refers to the proportion of one item to the original. A 1:24 scale is common for plastic model cars. Model Train "HO" scale is 1:87.1. That means it's 1/87th the size of a real train.
@salemcripple not intriely certian my father and i were disscussing it and figured that 15" gague trains are any where between 1/4th scale and 1/3 scale
i love the craftsmanship that went into building her. i would love to have a 18 inch gauge, coal fired, as authentic as possible. New York Central J1e 4-6-4 hudson, with operating stoker. that would be a sight to see
You should head down to Steamtown NHS in Scranton, Pa. They currently have two operating, coal fired steam loco's. The 3254 (CN Mikado), and the 2317 (CN Pacific). They are also restoring several other loco's. Boston and Maine 3213, and a Pensy K4 to be brought to Altoona. The famous Berkshire Nickel Plate #595 is on static display
The first minute and 8 seconds is ruined because of the crappy music.
