Very nice song! I hear some echoes of 'Oooh Baby Baby' in this song, which was also interpreted by several artists (incl Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, and Linda Rondstadt).
Never heard of this group. Their publicity team must have been retarded. I like Deniece William's version better. Sheila's voice is too harsh for this song, similar to Martha Reeve's
@nublackmusic This song was also performed by Laura Nyro and Deniece Williams, but I think no one sang it better then this woman...Sheila Ross Anthony.
@MIKECNW NO Not really... you have to realize that the Royalettes recorded the original version in 1965, 18 years before Deneice Williams and they were all over the place and were quite a popular group in their heyday
@MIKECNW I agree !! The ROYALETTES original is FAR better. The layered vocal harmonies, The Late Teddy Randazzo's rich orchestral production...PURE CLASS !! and FAR BETTER than ANY cover version I've heard . Sheila, Veronica, Terry and Anita have got Niecy BEAT on THIS one !!

nothing like these oldies. Fantastic, and I am grateful to have been young during these magical musical years. Thanks for posting.

@mystkpizza Exactly they were popular for their time until the time of their break-up. Niecy just brought it back up to speed. :)

I always thought that was a beautiful album cover. What happened to them? I believe the Shirrells covered this also.. So did Laura Nyro/labelle.

Wow, I didn't know that they were the original singers. I always thought it was Deniece Williams.
