It is blues, it's boogie woogie which is a specific type of piano based blues. It's not what you might call "pure" blues that Willie Dixon, Sonny Boy Williamson, Albert King, etc would have played, but you are right, it is still blues, and just because I can't stand how Laurie sings I was wrong to say it wasn't.
