1. should be wearing gloves

2. Alco-wipe the injection site

3. the biggy, you don't put the needle in all the way up to the hilt and

4. with IMI's you must withdraw the plunger a little to make sure that you haven't injected into a blood vessel.

Poking holes in your skin just isn't a correct thing to do. YOU may not realize anything is happening, but your SUBCONSCIOUS is fighting that every way it can, trying to prevent it. Those with needle-fear can't keep that in check, so needles scare the beejeebus out of us.

Even after a 3 month course as a front-line Combat Medic, including giving our buddies injections, receiving too, needles STILL scare me shipless.

I know EXACTLY what's up with those girls ... FEAR!

I completely understand what's occuring here & why the girls are acting the way they are ..... and it's actually a very common thing, usually carefully hidden for obvious reasons.

Most people outside the medical field would probably think we who ARE in the field never had a fear of needles .... or at least overcame that fear during & because of the extensive training & education we've had concerning that subject. But that is simply not true for a significant percentage of us.

It's painful because sterile water was used (if i'm not mistaken)... but you don't really need to cry! ^^
