  • TD: why did you hit the car in front of you

Driver: you told me to drive by memory i didn't remember that car being there

  • @blainyrules true

  • The akward moment is that he crashed out of the race

  • @TheShaneyman The awkward moment when you can't spell awkward...

  • the camera is fixed at the bottom of the helmet

  • seems Coulthard's chin was the only place big enough to fix a camera

  • This camera was on chin, best place to put it as it is sooo massive.

  • this is the chin cam

  • @Wibbahh it's white because it was DC's last race and it was for the charity Wings For Life

  • Why is this redbull white?

  • @Wibbahh To celebrate Coulthards last F1 race :)

  • @senna365 damn - my attempt at creating a sense of knowledge on the video has been exposed!!

check out the di grassi eye-level cam

  • it was located on his chin.

  • @pdean52 yer jus heard that on practice for brazil

  • Imagine if he stayed another year or two...

  • Nice graphics in the game ;)

  • FUCKING INCREDIBLE!!!!!

  • /watch?v=wpLjvkh4hQE&feature=related this is Kubica testing at Monza, good helmet cam

  • was the cam mounted on his chin

  • Are you sure thats DC? I dont remember ever seeing a white Red Bull?

  • @5661RT It was his last race so for this occasion it was white and covered with passphoto's of fans.

  • @erwinruys Ah that would explain it then lol. I remember the photos, but I still didn't realise it was white! It must be my memory on the way out ;)

  • @erwinruys no in Brasil 2008 the car was white and run a promo for a charity called Wings for Life, a spinal cord injury paralysis research foundation backed by RB, The passport photo car was blue and run in the 2007 British Grand Prix, again to benefit Wings For Life

  • @n0xiz My bad..

  • what tha hell

thats a kilometre under the eyeline

  • the camera is at the bottom of the helmet

  • this is not helmet cam XD

  • lol @ being taken out by JB of all people

  • I say it's close to the height of LCD way below the mirrors, where it should be.

  • @fugupunk lol .

  • this is mouth line cam

  • Yes, it is below the eye line!!! Bt still even at the eye line the vision is still very limited, these guys drive out of muscle memory build by racing simulators, and experience build from the practice sessions.

  • @LeontariF1 out of muscle memory?? LOL thats absolutely ridiculous.

  • @LeontariF1

Yeah you go ahead and believe that. The rest of us know better.

  • @Acruz9301 I drove a F2000, you sit pretty low it's teh first thing you notice. Perhaps in this case the camera is lower from his eyes but here is how it looks like:

    watch?v=WAJo2sIn4cc&feature=related

    /watch?v=7o_U4mBthrc&feature=related

    /watch?v=k6hGGlmie6U&feature=related

    /watch?v=D4tEcBj8EGk

  • "Chinbar cam"

    h-t-t-p://img101.imageshack.u-s/img101/2629/gepa31100844043.jpg

  • If the FIA made several small 3D cameras mandatory in all Formula One helmets I would marry them.

  • It's below the eyeline, just 4 or 5 cms i think.

  • OMG

    that´s amazing ^^

great, to see it from a driver's perspective

  • Amazing video

  • somewhere his crash with helm camera?

  • That was in Interlagos, Brazil GP. Great desing circuit.

  • FIA USE THIS CAMERA IN ACTUAL RACES OK, Should be easy

  • @evofreak1304 agreed! CART used these back in the 90s! Incredible stuff!

  • That's really cool how the dashboard has a kind of 'live-stream' of how much ahead or behind he is from the fastest time as he moves along the track.

  • That's too low. The camera used on the Kubica video was actually inside the helmet and pretty much at eye level. You can tell because he actually closes the visor and it looks like what you should see from inside the helmet. Also in that vid you can actually tell where he is going unlike on this one.

  • so cool

  • It was on the chin of the helmet

  • aren't the driver's eyes about level to where the mirrors are? It's wayyyyyyy below his eyeling lol

  • no wonder why he always crashed, he cant see a thing in the car.

  • i remamber this seeng on the TV hes last race he crased in the 1st corner :P they showed a replay from this helmet cam :)

  • its right below the visor

  • 5*****

  • brAZIL

  • pls say thts below the eyeline because looks fairly impossible to see anything

  • yes, i think so, cause this view^^, it´s impossible to race :-D

  • do u know what are those numbers in the right and left of the gear??? ty...

  • the one on the left is lap counter. when he crosses the line it says 14. tht might mean total no. of laps in session and then goes bact to 3 which might mean no. of laps since hes left the garage. mayb im not sure. on right i think thts his split delta. basically how far off the time needed. probably uses gps

  • the 14.10 after crossing the line refers to having done a 1:14.10 - his laptime. it doesnt show the 1:

either due to available space or simply, because the driver will anyway know that its a +1min lap.

  • yeah, i think they called it a 'chin bar' camera, which was just below the visor. so david's eyeline would be a bit higher than this

  • it's not the eye line. Look the mirrors, you can't see nothing at that position

  • @martynhenrystyles its probably at the bottom of his visor rather than at the top of his helmet so i think it is below the eyeline

  • @FISHURMOMBALL i think its a chest strap ...

  • @FISHURMOMBALL I thought I remember Brundle saying it was around his neck.

  • @FISHURMOMBALL

I agree.. I know they sit low in the cars.. but we can't see any of the corners/track!

  • @martynhenrystyles it is below the eyeline. you can see that the mirrors are way higher than what we are seeing

  • @martynhenrystyles of course it is.

  • @martynhenrystyles

it was on the bottom edge line of the visor

  • @martynhenrystyles Yeah it was attached to the chin of the helmet, hence the name "Chinbar cam"

  • @martynhenrystyles It's Obviously positioned below the eyline...

  • @martynhenrystyles of course its below the eyeline :L

  • @martynhenrystyles No shit it is below the eyeline.

  • @martynhenrystyles coulthard also said that the camera was pointing down slightly for some safety reasons

  • @martynhenrystyles yeah its below the visor but isnt bellow the eyeline by too much only a few inches

  • @martynhenrystyles This is at the eyeline because the drivers mainly drive the track by memory not visual feedback.
