The Benz clearly pulled the M5, although not as much as some of you would have liked. These are both awesome cars but for daily driving and part throttle situations? The torque in the Benz makes that far more satisfying. I will say the M5 exhaust note can be mesmerizing as well. This may be unfortunate for some but I think the M5 is slated to start using a twin turbo V8 in future iterations.

The fantastic thing here is that the M5 engine is naturally aspirated with NO TURBO'S or SUPERCHARGERS.

It has about 60 hp less in this ECU version and yet it almost keeps up.

Vielleicht kann es ja einer übersetzen. Der RS6 und der SL von Carlsson haben mehr Leistung als die ganzen M5 und eine Normale Automatik ohne Begrenzer. Den M5 muss man fahren können, und ich bin mir sicher das 8 von 10 es im GT-Board nicht können.

0-200: 12,8 Sekunden, gemessen mit einer Driftbox.

Ein M5 mit Chiptuning wird ähnliche Fahrleistungen haben. Ein RS6 braucht 0-200 14 Sekunden. Jetzt könnt ihr euch überlegen wieso ein RS6 schneller ist ?!?, trotz 1,5 Sekunden langsameren Sprint.

Vielleicht sollte man bei den nächsten Vergleichsfahrten dazu schreiben in was für einem Getriebemodus die Driver fahren ;-)

Very true. Base model line of the E60 came out 2004 and over the years, only minor modifications have been made. Otherwise, the new 5 series line and a new M5 should be due for 2010 or 2011.
