Raga Sargam Practice

Learning sargam it benefit to train our vocal or sur . And what is the benefit for learning Raag ?

I am thinking ni re ga re ni re sa surs for Yaman and then dh ni re sa part darbari surs so which one I cant tell !!!!

Also does it not matter whether these surs are in in aaroh or avroh, I am also learning ?

Also what would be nice is a video lesson by Raag with sa re gam and then a popular ghazal so we can remember it. We can then buy this individually.Thanks
