It took Nature 25 million years to cut & shape this incomparably majestic carnivore. In the 1500s, when Europeans first arrived in the Americas, Africa, & Asia large herbivores & carnivores STILL numbered, combined, in the 100s of millions. Today, each of the populations of the large species like bisons, buffalos, wolves, lions, tigers, rhinos, the great apes, & elephants have have no more than a few thousand. Talking about "man made catastrophe" to earth's animals & ecosystems!
