  • Oh wow i feel old now i remember this lol. before t.v became shit box filled with sheeplmercials and ignorant reality shows.

  • How come this video doesn't have any black satellite 'sparklies'? Must have had a good quality TVRO dish at the cable head end...lol.

  • 0:07 epic scream face XD

  • Was the movie Young Frankenstein (That's the only Fox movie rated PG and it's in b&w I can think of.)?

  • Love seeing these old openings, and promos. When did HBO change their logo from the old version used at 0:49, with the O partially covering over the right half of the B? I knew it was sometime in the early 80s(and just before late 82/early 83, when the infamous HBO Space(sorry I'm not sure of the intro's official name) intro was used for something like 16-17 years) when the logo changed, but I can't remember exactly when it happened.

  • @prfsnlwannabe HBO Logo changed in September 1981, when HBO went 24 hours on Weekends. HBO in Space started September 1982.

  • @salchli However when HBO started using HBO in Space in September of 1982 they still used the late 70's rating bumper with the scrolling text until December of 1982 so they have also still used the other bumpers like the one with the Tetris Shapes and the vector theater in tandem with the space logo.

  • @Jac2Mac Thanks! I thought I remember they were still using the old material a little while longer. Also, IIRC they still used the old "Next on HBO" bumper until mid 1983.

  • I remember the free trial weekends before we subscribed to HBO.

  • These were the days before HBO went porn.

  • @goback3spaces That's what Spotlight was for. ;)

  • Where can I see this movie in it's entirety? thanks!

  • Does anyone have an HBO intro from the 80s with the closed captioned ident?

  • That was used starting 1984.

  • @GameShowNetwork Yeah it's on HBO's official channel.

  • Cool music,and intro,its A neon theater.

  • That is "HBO Intro Theater 2" right there.

  • This opening roxx, never seen this one before.cool!

  • yes the music at 0:51 is done in jazz fusion style of the late 70's early 80's. LOVE IT!

  • This intro is very relaxing.

  • James Wood & Franklyn Seales worked well together in this film.

  • Going to the movies.

  • The instrumental for the Feature Presentation sounds like something Weather Report would've composed.

  • It's actually in the movie!
