  • This putz must believe that when UFO';s land the area will glow, trees change shape and color, etc. The only claim pf physical remains were the pod marks. If an airplane lands on a freeway it will not leave spectacular remains. Unless it crashes. The testimony of this gumbah in noway trumps the tapes, the notes, the reports, nor the testimony of the participants.

  • is that some kind of comedy..? ^^ ...cuz what they say sounds funny..

  • My cousins and three servants witnessed exactly the same event in India, one night, two years ago, and they described the crafts exactly the same as what the Rendalsham witnesses saw...and by the way, they live on a plantation and they never heard of the Rendelsham incident...they saw a red triangular object moving in between the trees one day and two or three days later they saw a small red/yellow oval object, dripping stuff...

  • When you listen to the tape of these servicemen, they were scared. Awed and scared. I look at things objectively and I am usually the last to hop on a wagon. But I am afraid this was no lighthouse. I do not know if it was not of this world, it is just as likely to be something we were working on..this was the Cold War after all. We will probably never know what happened here, but it is a diservice to these men to insult their intelligence this way.

  • thats my bffs uncle (vince)

  • To reduce this incident to a light house is a high water mark of stupidity and an insult to the many witnesses.

  • The ignorance and arrogance of Thurkettle/Ridpath is simply staggering. They are clearly slow, so why have they been given so much attention in the first place? They are good for a laugh but nothing else, so why do they even get any airtime at all? Why also did neither go onto the Paranormal Cafe show when invited? John and Jim were there, waiting! These two chickens didnt show up because the yellow line down each of their backs precludes them from confrontation that will dismiss them as idiots.

  • Ive been looking into this case for twenty years and I dont believe for a second, that a Lighthouse caused this incident, and a guy who works for the forrestry commision just doesnt convince me that the witneses involved in this incident are making up everything theyve said. Mr Ridpath is very choosy what he decides to quote and what he doesnt. Penniston and Burroughs were out there for longer than both of them realised.

  • Ian Ridpath is a long time publicity hound who continues seeking to ride the caot-tails of this incident and the people WHO WERE THERE AND WERE INVOLVED!!!

  • To IanRidpathdotcom.

Your comments where you are saying that most of the security people were new on the base, is not true and it just shows what kind of arguments debunkers are using for making the incident look like a possible hoax. ! :)

  • Well, in an interview for a podcast called The Paracast in 2009 Burroughs stated he had never been out in the woods before that night. He also said that Penniston and Cabansag were newly arrived on base and were no more familiar with the woods than he was.

  • The problem is just that the military folks in the forrest that night, knew all about the Lighthouse. And described some events happened in areas with sights away from the light house.

And the story about the apollo module is totally wrong according to some of the people from the imcident. Like Col. Halt who said it is a totally lie, just made up to debunk the incidents.

  • The fact is that most of the security people didn't know about the lighthouse. They were new on base and hadn't been out in the forest at night before. Col Halt knew about the lighthouse but thought it was in a different direction, which is why he misidentified it.

The story about the Apollo module is indeed a red herring.

  • I read recently although I think the link has been there some time) that a SAR heli sqd (at one of the US bases) was always pulling pranks-it's suggested they used a training apollo module (not widely known) and intended to simply sky hook it to the other base and leave it on their runway as a prank--but they accidentally snagged the trees and to avoid losing the heli, dropped the module-and this is what was seen by the unsusspecting personel. They saw it being retrieved two nights later (cont)

  • by another heli crew doing the deed..The module apparently had lights fitted (for help in a practice rescue at sea at night) plus the spot lights fitted to the heli (a huge HH53) would no doubt scare the hell out of anyone seeing the sight. You have to bear in mind this module was known about on a 'need to know basis' plus the prank would have resulted in court marshalls for all involved in it- The Brits were unaware and so to avoid the real scandal the UFO story was put in motion.

  • If anyone wants to post a comment, it would help if they familiarized themselves with the background to the case first. The Wikipedia entry on the Rendlesham Forest Incident is a good place to start.

  • According to the millitary who did investigate the landing site after, there where much higher radiation then normal.

Its very easy, a UAP lands near a millitary base, millitary personell goes out to investigate, see the craft, goes to the craft, and then see it lift of and go away. They are hightly credible witnesses, thats why.

  • Alas there was no unusual radiation at the site, despite what some people would like you to believe. I think it is you who need to do some research. As it happens the Wikipedia entry on the Rendlesham Forest Incident is a good place to start.

  • And you call yourself remdlesham2 !

I think you are totally aware of the radiation reading that night and the radiation reading done some days after by english personel ! :)

  • What English personnel?

  • But on Larry King Live last year, one of the witnesses said he actually placed his hand on a small triangular craft before it shot up into the air. What part of the lighthouse is that?

  • Compare that with what the same witness and his buddy who was standing next to him said at the time of the incident and you will find that no such thing happened.

  • I think I will put my bet on Penniston and what he said he experienced instead of your beliefs and guesses.

Penniston wrote down a sketch of the craft

and it has been published in a documentary about the incident.

In spite of the name you are using, think you should study the case before spreading lies about the incident !!

  • Yup. World Championship every year. My brother and I will be there in August.

  • hi,

you mention the devon police 'flying cross' sighting.are we totally sure it was venus?do the witnesses agree with the explanation?some of the explanations to 'good' ufo reports prove to be bogus . cheers, phil

  • Yes. Type "devon flying cross ufo" into Google and it should be your first hit.

  • vince thurkettleis my uncle eeeeeeeeeeeeee! aliza thurkttle

  • In response to various queries, I should make clear that the landing site Vince refers to in the video above was on the eastern side of the forest. This is site the local police were shown on the morning after the supposed landing. It is also the site investigated by Col Halt two nights later, and it was on this occasion that Halt saw the flashing light between the trees, across the neighbouring field.

The Wikipedia entry on the Rendlesham Forest Incident has a good summary.

  • That's a variant of the incident, UFO-crazies won't like.

    ;-))
