The point that many conservatives make is that by preventing companies like GM and AIG from failing, we are making it that much harder for us to get out of this recession. All they did was maintain the oligarchy. Also keep in mind that we didn't have the money to bailout those companies, we borrowed it, and if we continue to borrow money at this rate we'll likely see high inflation, meaning lost jobs.

@Hgindia69 The bailouts may have saved a lot of jobs, yes, but they sure didn't create much. The point that many conservatives make is that by preventing companies like GM and AIG from failing, we are making it that much harder for us to get out of this recession. All they did was maintain the oligarchy. Also keep in mind that we didn't have the money to bailout those companies, we borrowed it, and if we continue to borrow money at this rate we'll likely see high inflation, meaning lost jobs.

He can also execise many executive powers, but unfortunately he's too afraid. All he's been doing since he stepped into office is worry about getting re-elected. People just don't seem to have the knowledge that our President can NOT make policy changes ALONE... it also takes the support of Congress!
So many of us got out and voted for the Presidential election, but then let President Obama's opposition control the House... you have to vote CONSISTENTLY for change if you really expect to get it!!!
People also don't realize that the Health care "Option" was shot down by Congress. This was a HUGE change that was in favor of the American people.
