Η Αθήνα δεν είναι Λονδίνο ούτε Παρίσι και ευτυχώς. Ακόμα και έτσι όπως την κάνανε με τις αντιπαροχές παραμένει μια πόλη με πολλές επιλογές. Όσο πιο πολύ την περπατάς τόσο πιο πολλά ανακαλύπτεις. Δεν ισχύει το ίδιο με το Λονδίνο. Και το έχω περπατήσει πάρα πολύ. Τεσπά, όταν κάποιος ξένος κομπλεξικός πει την παπάρα του να του απαντάτε Ιούνιο. Τι καιρό κάνει εκεί που είσαι καριόλη? Εδώ ζεστενόμαστε και την κάνουμε για παραλία πλευρά.

Το κέντρο της Αθήνας πρέπει να ξαναγεμίσει με κτίρια νεοκλασικού τύπου. Η αλήθεια είναι πως έχω δει αρκετά κτίρια που χτίστηκαν πρόσφατα να έχουν αυτή την όψη τα οποία είναι πανέμορφα(δεν ξέρω αν υπάρχει κάποιος νόμος, αλλά αν υπάρχει καλό είναι). Επίσης όλα τα παλιά νεοκλασικά να ξαναφτιαχτούν, να σβηστούν όλα τα graffiti (τι graffiti, η τζίφρα του κάθε παπάρα δηλαδή). Και επιτέλους, να προβλευτεί μια περιοχή λίγο πιο έξω για ουρανοξύστες οι οποίοι για κάποιο ανεξήγητο λόγο είναι ταμπού εδώ

Kαι εγω Αθηνα μενω , δυστηχως θα πρεπει να το παραδεχτουμε : σε σχεση με την Ελλαδα επειδη η Αθηνα εχει μεγαλη συγκεντρωση και πληθυσμου αλλα και χρηματος , δειχνει να εχει καλυτερα κτηρια , δρομους , καποια συγχρονα εργα που εγιναν τελευταια (πχ το μετρο) ομως Ευρωπαικη μητροπολη δυστηχως ΔΕΝ ειναι και ουτε προκειτε να γινει.Η Αθηνα κακα τα ψεματα θυμιζει περισσοτερο πολη της Ανατολης οπως Βυρητο η Δαμασκο παρα Ευρωπαικη η γενικα Δυτικη μεγαλουπολη.Εαν πατε Λονδινο Παρισι Νεα Υορκη θα το δειτε.

@01Theja μι ξεχνας και στον πειραια τον ...ΟΛΠ που αρχισαν να κανουν εργα για να καταστει ο πειραιας πολυτελες κεντρο τουρισμου και ναυσιπλοιας.(500 εκατομμυρια ευρω μονο για 1 ξενοδοχειο ανακοινωσαν τα αραβικα εμηρατα να φανταστεις) σε λιγα χρονια απο τωρα ο πειραιας θα ειναι το πιο πολυτελες λιμανι/κεντρο υποδοχης ολοκληρης της ευρωπης(υπο τη προυποθεση οι πολιτικοι μας να μη τα σκατωσουν ξανα με τη βλακεια τους)

I agree. But I believe in Greece, Athens cannot be compared with any city, same with Thessaloniki. Athens has a population of 3.7 million, it's unique in Greece, Thessaloniki has 1.2 million, again unique. Rest of big cities are comparable. Patra, Larissa, Heraklion, Volos, Ioannina...

Probably the ugliest capital in the world. Apart from the Athens tram, new airport, modern highways and road networks, brilliant night life, incredible ancient sites, superb squares, it severly lacks in modern architecture. No modern skyscrapers and skyline unfortunately.

There are skyscrapers, more than 15, but the beauty of Athens is when you actually stay a while, and understand that it has too many different things to see and to do everyday! It's really amazing, when you are up in a mountain casino and then swim in fantastic beaches in less than 30 minutes, or the fact that you can go to so many different places for dinner or clubbing. Not to mention Plaka and Piraeus!!

@toy2day Νομίζω ότι επίσημα ουρανοξύστης θεωρείται κάθε κτίριο πάνω από 150 μέτρα. Και ο πύργος των Αθηνών είναι γύρω στα 100 μέτρα απ'όσο ξέρω.

Ακόμα και αν δεχτούμε κάποιο χαμηλότερο όριο πιστεύω ότι το μόνο κτίριο στην Αθήνα που μπορεί να θεωρηθεί ουρανοξύστης είναι ο πύργος. Και οπτικά να το δεις. Δυστυχώς το παιδί είχε δίκιο σε αυτό που είπε, η Αθήνα δεν έχει να επιδείξει κάτι εντυπωσιακό από μοντέρνα αρχιτεκτονική, εκτός από το ΟΑΚΑ που και αυτό δε θεωρείται κτίριο.

it hasn't many skyscrapers because from 1980 they are banned in greece. there are currently no more than 10 skyscrapers in athens, but in marousi and other districts there are many examples of modern architecture.

well, i also don't agree with him as i consider athens an incredible city, but as far as the skyscrapers are concerned he is actually right. there are modern buildings in athens (marousi district, and others scattered), but athens needs place with skyscrapers, like paris has la defence or london with the docklands.

the problem is that there is a government height limit at 27metres, so you cannot build higher than that.

i hope the 27metre law to be canceled cause athens deserves some skyscrapers.

Greece has 14000km of coastline, Spain only 4900km.I visited Spain 2 times for holidays (Benidorm and Mallorca) and various other times for Business (Madrid, Albacete, Valencia etc).I agree on the excellent tourist infrastracture (far better than Greece) and the beautiful cities,loads of monuments,but this is it.When NATURAL BEAUTY is the case,Greece is incomparable.3000 islands (130 inhabited) of Greece and the small remote stone villages,the fantastic beaches and UNSPOILED coastline are UNIQUE

I believe the lifestyle in Greece altough a bit bizarre, it's the best by far in the EU. For Holidays, it's a bit expensive, but still has fantastic beaches, which you will never find in Turkey or Spain, basically due to the huge islands coastlines

Yeah, it's really nice especially for holidays to the islands. Doesn't look like anything else. Athens is great too, but you definately need someone to walk you (drive you better) around, otherwise you won't see anything apart from the basics
