how can you say 'i try not to get hung up on biology i know it exists' such a impoverished thing to say, whats more to it is our lack of understanding of biology, we are ignorant of a lot of things, I sincerely hope you are not implying some divine intervention

what's wrong with being in touch with the divine? you could say you don't believe in it, but then i think you could be missing something.
let's not be afraid of the mystery. because it's there for you if you're curious enough.

Actually, I quite agree. We are not "merely" colonies of cooperative organisms. Far from it. There's much more to being human.
I answered the question in one way that many people have not considered. There are plenty of other valid answers, and I'm glad you pointed this out, Mitch.

Human being evolve toward divine being, as our real nature is God or Light. We should be aware and realize every moment that we are God. To have human body is a miracle. I read a book of a Guru whose his Guru is a leper, he radiated with love, he gave spiritual teachings and comfort to anyone who come to him day and night. His disciples saw him as God. So God manifest himself in multiple ways.
