I am skeptical of the "unverified" blogger information at 2:50. I am unaware of the educational background of the blogger, but two particular claims seem to directly contradict what I have learned about H1N1 influenza in medical school.

1. The CDC and WHO have verified that H1N1 influenza is susceptible to Tamiflu.

2. I have never seen any evidence that gluten intolerance is related to influenza incidence, morbidity or mortality.

I agree with you. Health officials are alarming people because this is in fact a new mutated strain of virus that is newly exposed to the population, therefore unpredictable. They are also telling people to not panic and treat it with the same precautions as the "regular" influenza.
