you've got to be blind to not realise that the ships we earthlings use are quite heavily inspired by WW2 warships from Destroyers and subs to Carriers and Battleships.
love the look on them.
the long gunbarrel turrets look way better than the ones with just holes and also seems to really be able to do some serious damage.
Remind me to build an Battleship/Carrier in space based on WW2 ships.
Maybe, but not better than Macgyver's archenemy, Murdoc. Let's see...... a building collapsed on him, a truck he was in exploded, fell off a mountain, and squeezed through a very smale underwater tube. Need I go on?
"Teresa, someone is calling you from afar, Teresa, crying for the loss of light. Your hands folded at the chest speak the words of love, and in your deep pure eyes the sunken treasure of love sparkles. Teresa, keep smiling always, Teresa, keep smiling always..."
This show's starting to show it's age a bit: 23rd century and still using magnetic recording tape? -;)
What a bully the Comet Empire is, rubbing elbows with a major threat like Gamilus and picking on poor lil' Earth and it's "blue-ocean" spacefleet. I get the impression they knew each other for awhile though. Birds of a feather?
And when will /anyone/ start putting weapons on the "undersides" of their ships? In space that's just as viable an attack path as "above the waterline".
btw if you like Star Wars, look at my favorites (George Lucas talks about the influence of samurai movies on Star Wars, Darth Vader vs Japanese Police).
Looks like we are going through the series at the same time. I see Kodai is still Acting or Sub-Captain. I'm guessing that since he is so young that even with all of his accomplishments he is not a full Captain. Also, with the size of space being what it is...wouldn't the fleet have set up outgoing and incoming flight paths?
IMO they thought there was only one true Captain of the Yamato, and that was Okita. They retained Kodai as Acting Captain our of respect for his predecessor.
playing space chikkin! now that's the shiznitt!

LOL, REMINDS ME of that joke with the US Carrier fleet and the Lighthouse- telling each other to move out the way...
LOL
Aw, it's bigger than the Yammato?
I cant tell ,differnt angles suggest it's bigger, or similar.
Eh, hopefully the Yamato's been upgraded in a years time
Dang, Kodai's got balls pulling that though.

So what do you think? Should Yamato move out of the way? Should Andromeda find another lane? Which one has right of way? Hmm???

They used to do that when they dubbed over the old "spaghetti westerns" years ago.

The ending song has the 2nd verse:
"Teresa, someone is calling you from afar, Teresa, crying for the loss of light. Your hands folded at the chest speak the words of love, and in your deep pure eyes the sunken treasure of love sparkles. Teresa, keep smiling always, Teresa, keep smiling always..."
Hesuku 3 years ago
The 5th line of the 1st verse is more like:
"The stardust decorated on you becomes love with human hearts."
Hesuku 3 years ago
The 6th line in the 2nd verse again:
"...and deep in your pure sparkling eyes, a treasure of love is sunken."

As Domel showed when he unaffectedly attached to the Yamato's keel and pushed the self-destruct button.
But who needs cannons where you have a third bridge?

Yep, a little peek-a-boo going on. It reminds me of the classic opening title sequences to the James Bond movies of the 60's and 70's.
