Today's games aren't as good because they don't force you to use your imagination. No thought is involved with most of today's games - It's just kill, kill, kill.
@MrMetalCookie i disagree. there are a lot of outstanding games nowadays much better than anything in the past. You cant find anything from the c64 era near the class of.. for example, RE4.
I remember playing this with my brothers during holidays, all through the night. I guess I'm still trying to find a co-op multi-player game to match the allure this title has. Fricking best childhood memories.
turbo outrun you mean by JT/MON? ;-) not the **** original version. Although green beret / rambo / game over / combat school etc etc. TOO many to mention kicked it as well. Reyn's cover of galways stuff is nice if you ain't check his cover of wizball
O.k., once and for all: Out Run > Everything! But I admit, Wizball, Last Ninja 1 & 2 and Hundreds of other Sids are great too! Compared to todays music: was there a single C64 sound, which wasn't good? ;) Honestly: I played 100s of Games since the early 80s: 100s of PC Games and I can not recall a single "soundtrack" (except Ultima Online). But let me listen to one C64-Sound and I give you the name of the game. C64/Amiga -> greatest time of my life!
Agree with you also. Todays machines are only a billion times more capable than a C64 and only very few games now days realy grabbed me like Wizball. I started my gaming in 1977 with a Atari2600 and went on from there. The C64 realy shined with some very creative writers. Lets not also forget this game is less than 64kb big. For me thats mind blowing to produce quality like this on such little ram. Well done to Jon Hare and Chris Yates the creators.
This game took the C64 to a new level. The grafix and sounds seemed from something more powerfull than a C64 machine. Also did anyone notice that the weapon selections and cauldrons at the bottom where outside the normal view area of the C64 grafix range? They did their homework on this game and took no short cuts. I finnished it many times and love the end music. Good thing I have my old brown C64 and the game on 5 1/4 floopy with a 1541 drive. Great post! thank you...
new level? sensi soft were always on point and brought new things to the table.. they never made duff games.. the pc remake of this is nice also... although the other versions of WB couldn't match the c64 one =).. sometimes the original is the best...
one of the best tunes ever, goosebumps...

Wizball is awesome Out Run so so. In my opinion The Last Ninja 1 & 2 is the best music ever created in the gaming history to date.

This is one of the best C-64 games ever made.
Did they make a US version? Like Delta, the Euro version is better because it used the "Border Area" for the Status icons.
