This is worlds better than the iron lung, because now you have both inspiratory and expiratory active and controlled. This can also be used in high frequency applications (up to 1200 cpm) and then mating to a Cough Assist mode, which makes it unrivaled in loosening secretions and mobilizing upward. This machine is live-saving.

The BCV is a great update on standard mechanical ventilation and I'm glad it is now maybe accepted in the US as well as here.
