R I P . To be honest it would be wise for Australia Post to issue a stamp . post haste. In all honesty I think he promoted indigenous issues in Australia - and no doubt he influenced a huge number of people. Yes - he does rate up there with Bradman , Dawn and Thorpe in the way of Australias Greeat sports Icons. He was a living legend. John P condolences. .

The moronic Australian government is a disgrace for declaring a public holiday to celebrate a foreign Queen's birthday when it isn't even her birthday; and yet the great Lionel Rose is regarded as a distant relic. We should have a heroes day each year and take a day off, starting with a Lionel Rose Day

my uncle darkie was a aboriginal man trained under lionel and we have direct contact with lionel today but is real old now.
