Nice to see Girma Beyene's compositions getting such notoriety and being performed by really good non-Ethiopian musicians. Agree with djEssatu's -Moges Habte's version is awesome, as is Mulatu Astatke's. Danny's Ethiopian vest is pretty cool (of course, nothing close to his amazing sound on the tenor). George Lowe's guitar licks are fantastic. Thanks for posting this, Robbie. (And BTW, Ethiopian Lives!)
George and I saw Getatchew Mekuria & The Ex perform this song in DC about a month ago. (as well as 12 other wonderful Ethiopian songs) Yet another great version. Thanks for listening.
Keep it up guys, great job, you nailed it down & gave it a groovy sound, check out Moges Habte's version, too. That one rocks, too. Great job. I like to hear more.
