@Balteey We need to have borders and controls to protect societies. If you just allowed people complete freedom to go anywhere with no controls, societies would be very difficult to manage and would eventually implode or collapse. Countries and societies are economies of scale and there are limits to how many people can be supported and what type of people. A country has limited space and resources so has to manage these for the greater good to provide a reasonable standard of living.

@BritainDivided I'm entirely in agreement with you that this woman shouldn't have been in the country as a childminder and it was a serious breach of immigration rules, but I do agree with Jai too. Suffering from medical anxiety 'cause you don't know what border patrol officials are going to do and having a potential fear for your life by returning back to your country of origin is evidence enough the officials need to show a bit of compassion in their jobs. I suffer from anxiety, so I know.

@BritainDivided The only problem I do have is the fact that she didn't remain near police authorities to secure her deportation back to her country of origin, but instead said she'd apply for asylum in London, then went off the radar. That's where I lose respect for her in this regard, along with the fact she came here illegally to begin with. But grounds for medical attention still apply when apprehending criminals. There's a fine line between legality and basic human rights and decency.
