I have been researching use of niacin for health. And I am amazed with the infor I have found and through my interviews with people whom have used it for theraputic reasons. I have been trying to learn more about the process of Niacin.. and it's impact on body.. and how to optimize the beneficial effects. One thing that seems to help, is the use of a cardio workout at the time the niacin flush starts to engage. I think this may be due to the cardio workout increasing the speed and pressure..
@upcycle of the blood to all the capillaries.. and helping to flush them from more spaces.. Also.. because the niacin flush is opening up the vessels.. including the capillaries.. it is allowing more blood to flow.. and more oxygen to get to those areas.. so during the cardio workout.. i am getting more oxygen into blood.. and more blood to the cells.. and over time.. this helps the cell health that may have been deprived of oxygen and other nutrients because of blockages of cholesterol, etc.
@ccarrieb I usually take it before cardio. And I try to wait till the flush begins before I start. I have found that I have more stamina during the cardio, when I do it that way
@ccarrieb Are you doing cardio workout to bring your puls up and break a sweat? (like running on tread mill for 5-15 minutes or however long it takes).
How many miligrams did you take? did you take it in solid pill form or in powered form in a gel capsule? I have been doing my niacin by pouring out powder from a gel cap.. adding some water. putting the lid on the jar that i have put these ingredients, and shaking it up.. then i drink it through a straw. I get a much faster flush and with this technique. I also have been adding a bit of cayenne to water too.. The cayenned helps to also open up capilaries and it aparently is high in Niacin too.
Did it help you lower the cholesterol ? how many mg a day u take ?

The effects of Niacin are proven to be much better long term then statins. Also good you people with high blood pressure :-)

I usually take it after I run, I don't think I could be any sweatier or itchy on my workout. Have you tried this?

Not the breathing part, but yes it does burn a bit, I just look at it as removing toxins though :-)
