In the old days of Super Password, they would just the show the two people looking at each other, just like Password Plus. The split-screen was introduced when Gene Wood started whispering the passwords and the bonus round prize was superimposed on the screen.
Legally, there is no limit to the maximum jackpot. Starts at 5K and increases by 5K every time no one wins. Same rules apply for Password Plus (Kennedy, Much later run).
In a similar fashion, Lingo (Chuck W.) starts at xx and increase by 1K each time no one draw out the certain number the first time to get "Lingo" during the bonus round.
Wow....a lot of the clues were perfect...even for the obscure words.

Man, "ostrich" was a word in both this win and the SP record $55,000 win. Couldn't they think of another "o" word?

Can the jackpot can only go up to $55,000?

The best part is how genuinely happy Marcia was for her...actually with every celebrity they seem really happy for the winner on these shows...

This was Jerry's only time on a game show, I believe.

Not quite. He also appeared on "What's my Line?" (syndication era), and on the celebrity edition of "Jeopardy!".

Was that the late Jerry Orbach?
nextbarker 3 years ago 4
Yes it was. This was his only time on the show.
Also, this appearance predated his work on "Law & Order" by 4 years. L&O, however, didn't premiere until 1990.

@vnisanian2001
Orbach was more known for "Dirty Dancing" around this time, I think.

Then she also played a doctor on Empty Nest with Richard Mulligan too for a season or two.
