I heard the original version of this song by UFO. I really wanted to like it, because it was the original, but man the vocals fell so flat. Blaze did a fantastic job on this. The band as a whole brought more life to this song.

@djblitzt Well, that's not really fair. It's like comparing apples and bananas, NWOBHM and Thrash. Both tastes good but the one is nothing like the other.

I like both bands. But to me it's a mood thing. When I have an urge for heavier metal I play 80's Metallica. When I crave more "old school metal" I listen to Maiden.

Right now... Metallica's got nothing on Maiden though :P :)

I'm usually almost allergic to covers. But on occasion... they just kick ass. This is one of those few. I just love it! It's a great partystarter.

Like the night before the maiden gig a few months ago when we had an all-night party outside the stadium (Ullevi in Gothenburg) and this tune started blasting out of the boombox speakers... it just felt like "now it begins" :D

Yes, they went global etc. But what's to say that they wouldn't have done the same with Paul? We'll never know and we should be grateful for what we've been given! I've just got some really good memories of seeing them at the Ipswich Gaumont, tainted, slightly, with some (smaller) bad memories of seeing them at the Ipswich Gaumont. Cheers :)

I can't believe all the comments about how great Dickinson is. The bloke can't hold a tune to save his life. I saw Maiden with D' Anno once, then i had the misfortune of seeing them twice with Dickinson (i only went the second time because i was sure he must have had a bad night the first time...i was wrong). Maiden ended for me after making two superb albums. Dickinson should stick to flying instead of trying to sing. Opinions are like belly-buttons - everyone's got one :)

You can't deny Dickinson has played a huge part in making the band the worldwide success they've become but I do tend to agree with you and for me nothing will ever top the first two albums and the memories of seeing them in those early days led by Di'Anno's raw energy

Good cover. Blaze is the best suited for this type of music as well, this would have sounded worse with Bruce because Bruce just wouldn't sound right imitating Phil Mogg's voice. Although in general Bruce is my favorite singer for Maiden

I remember this track from the "Lord of Flies" single. Great cover recording. It really fits Blaze's voice.

It's hilarious seeing "fans" who still whine about Blaze Bayley. It's like stepping into 1995 all over again. I may as well be reading this with AOL 3.0 and a dial-up modem.
