I just got a Cross Solo Sport black for $15 brand new on Ebay. Beautiful nib and writes smooth and wonderful....for the comfort and smoothness, it writes better than many fountain pens I've had beyond $100+ dollars. After testing this one, I'm going to buy a bunch more from the ebay seller. Unfortunately, the Cross Radiance is now being sold around for $40 to $80. While they are pretty, they're still plastic bodies and for that price, I'd just get a Cross ATX fountain pen..buying more solos tho

@dadoody haha yeah there pretty expensive now for some reason. i managed to get this for around 20 something, i cant remember, but it was a decent deal.

what are u going to do with buying more fountain pens? lol i only needed one :p

@randomrazr I don't know to be honest...I wanted them as back up and as emergency gifts on hand....and I have a bunch of other fountain pens already. 10+....but this cheapo one is my best writer oddly. OK, after this next batch, I'll stop buying fountain pens :P

@MrAMF50 the box said the pen was made in france.

the instructions say to dip the nib into the ink and use the converter to fill it up

the nib can come off for cleaning. it not screwed into the barrel.

im not sure where ur getting your miss information from.

I fell in love with Cross when I was a little kid. I did exceptionally well on a nationwide exam at school and my mother surprised me with a gold ballpoint and pencil set (the skinny ones, I think the Century?) When I got into fountain pens later in life, I got an Aventura. The pen wrote pretty nice, but the pen felt cheap and I disliked the design. I was scared of investing money in another Cross fountain pen, but when I saw this video, I know I'm going to buy a higher end one soon :)

How do you change the thickness of the line? It is pressure based or angle based?

@SgtRevan the thickness of the line? i dont believe its either. its strictly ment for writing like a normal pen.

i think you are refering to a caligraphy style fountain pen where the nibs are flexible.

the cross radiance one here is ment for casual writing.

Cross? thats been around for a long time. And dude!....you are like putting videos up like everyday now...

@j45007 haha well i got some new things to look at, i try to make a video every couple of weeks or something lol.

and yeah! cross has been around for a long time. the box said "since 1850" , something like that. they sure know how to make some nice pens! lol

@randomrazr, yeah i had a cross pen i bought in 1990 and i loved it, but i took it to school with me and it never made it back home. Someone stole it during lunch....never knew who.

@j45007 haha, my first cross pen (the one in my video is the second) was the exact same except it was all black. i lost it at school too, in accounting class i think, that was a bummer, but oh well, what can yah do lol.

they still sell cross pens at staples. if u ever want a nic pen to carry around, thats where i get em lol their refillable too so u dont have to replace the entire pen.
