The guy in the video is wrong. The COR Bridge was not the first to cross the Mississippi in MO & IL. It was the Eads Bridge, built long before this brige was even thought of.
how I miss this old bridge and be careful dont go out there at nite...know devil worshipers are known to hang out there...well they did back in the day...lol...
@jmessntune Was just there today. You can see where graffiti once was and has sense been removed. But you can still see evidence of what was 'written'. And your statement is true about 'devil worshipers'. I won't ever go back. It was a cool experience for the Route 66 aspect of it and the overall history and architecture.....but that's it. My new husband and I had our worst argument ever on our way back to the car. Just bad vibes there. In memory of the Kerry sisters.
I hung out on this bridge growing up in Granite City. It use to be closed and would get in big trouble if caught on it but hey we were teenagers...lol...we would climb down into the manholes and party on the pillers over the river. the film with Kurt Russell Escape from new york was filmed on this bridge. All my friends lived on the island shoto island till the floods of 93
@quickstraw94 Kerry Sisters, their cousin raped them and them through them off the bridge then he "fell off too" and blamed it all on African Americans, so typical.
What dummies. Eads Bridge, Mckinley, Mcarthur, and Merchant;s bridge came way before the Chain Of Rocks.

shortly before this was filmed, a women was either killed in this area or her body was found here

Not true. 2 girls were killed there years ago (around 20 years ago). But nothing like that has happened there lately.

When I say shortly before this was filmed. I don't mean when this video was added to You Tube. This segment was filmed in 1990 or 1991
