The problem with Iran is that not many people trust their motives for Nuclear engergy. Many people believe that they will use nuclear power to make a bomb and send it to Israel. Because of numerous videos seen where Pres of Iran has said "Death to Israel" and they will soon wipe Israel and the Zionists off the map. Sorry but I can see how their nuclear efforts might be fearful to some. If they just want it for energy then fine but I would be VERY cautious.

I have to agree that this is nothing but a global chess game between major world powers. Smaller countries like Iran are caught in the middle. However I predicted that if in fact Russia winds up not selling the S-300 to Iran, that the Iranians will develop their own analog. Do a search on Google or any other search engine for "Iran builds S-300-style anti-aircraft". Though there is yet no positive proof of such a system in Iran, I wouldn't put it past them that they can design, and build one.
