dj evil dee insane for using Krs-One loop but definitely the best that ever did it. Mad props to Blackmoon, Buckshot making underground Music the culture. Love this era
I feel honored to be alive during that era of hip hop. Not only alive but paying attention. I didn't absentmindedly stumble across this beautiful music 5 years after it's peak, I was right there nodding my hooded head, stomping my Timbos on top of it. Much like I've wished I could have been around to see Hendrix play live, we know we were lucky to be a part of this time. Sadly we watch rap regress to mediocre rhymes and material meaning but being there back then will ALWAYS make up for it.
Why can't hip hop be like this anymore? This track is just ridiculous...great sample, great rhyme, and great djing. I miss groups like this with all my heart
West Coast got a lot of dope emcee's. Unfortunately gangsta rap is mainly what was pushed out here. Lot of underground heads out here tho. Just depends on the individual. Nowdays the only music radio plays out is is that mainstream fake rap or else pop bullshit. With all that said, my opinion is that Crooked I is be the best lyricist from Cali. He's a complete emcee.
@weller3687 feel you no doubt..on that but shit..real talk...............The only cats that really be killing it tho from the west is like Crooked,Ras,Planet asia and a couple other cats..thats me but the east got more MC's on some lyrical shit and west be on some shit to busy trying banging and hatin on each other
@Keepklassic91 Damn dude don't forget about the Pharcyde, Souls of Mischief, Del tha funky homosapien...some good lyrical shit there. Nobody fucks with Wu tho.
@buttafly361 youll be suprised how many people smoke weed, saying weed is wack is just not an informed view, to much weed is harmful as is to much alcohol, or caffeine, i agree there should be no crack etc, but saying all drugs are wack and create junkies is just ignorant.
@Youngblood1106 the west was always on some cornball shit. there's only a handful of rappers that was holding it down (rass kass, saafir, heiro and the liks)

@truth583 my bad i thought everyone would agree with me that the song is classic but i guess you have no taste in music you must be stuck in all of this new age music or something
TheChemi 6 months ago
@TheChemi you make no sense right now. youre the one giving big ups to shitty rappers like lil wayne and drake. im the last person to be in this new age music. im old school, god.
so like i said before,
