Can you please make a new video on warlocks since they change improved soul fire to 3rd tier in the destro spec. I've seen all 3 spec videos and all are oriented too much on improved soul fire.

You should retest your dps while using your demon's abilities. Part of being a Demo Lock is using your demons to aid your dps. The reason the succy tests better is because she auto attacks rather than having special abilities to use (not including seduction because that doesn't help dps). You should include Felstorm and Axe Toss. Especially on mobs, Felstorm paired with Rain of Fire can push well over 20k.

Umm I think that you should remove the 2 points from Improved Soulfire and put them in Improved Immolate since you're only supposed to use Soulfire when the target is at 25% or lower health, not above. So mainly you want to start off by popping Metamorphosis and Demon Soul in the beginning of the fight just to get your DPS up fast. The rotation goes like this: Bane of Doom>Corruption>Immolate>Hand of Gul'dan>Shadow bolt spam until Molten Core proccs. and repeat.
Are Warlocks fun to play? casue thinking of leveling one and if so when does it get really fun becasue of a certain spell or is just awsome at that level :D
ok here's a thing, i've played demon forever and i experiment with dps all the time. atm use ur stripper for ur pet and get her glyph for single target fighting, felgaurd for mobs. fel synergy has always been a good talent, i always spec it. also i use a thing called "glyph of corrupt" over immolate glyph cause of the instant shadow bolt cast. i haven't gone in2 experimenting which is better yet, but i do have that shadow prox alot so idk yet. hope this was helpful :D p.s.pull 21k dps 352 itmlvl
good vid thank you for sharing, but im thinkin of tweaking your tree. There are i think 2 talents that pretty much just cut down the summoning time for pets. I was thinking of passing those and spending them more on damage. summoning time really isnt a big issue to me
@mycurse333 You need to have 31 points in demo before you can put points in destro tree and there aren't any damage increasing talents in demo left. So yea your idea doesn't work. Btw an instant free pet summon (with soulburn and the summoning talent) is very nice if your pet dies a third time.

Ummm I hope someone's answered your question by now, but just incase they haven't, you can set keybinds to any of the buttons on any of your action bars (scroll through the key bindings menu and you'll see them soon enough).
in 4.0.6, the improved soul fire would be moved to tier 3 destruction talent, so demo locks will not get it anymore. Improving immolate would be a better choice soon.
The reason i would take imp immolate over emberstorm is because immolate overall will probably do more damage over the entire fight than soulfire. i would on the other hand, still spec into imp soul fire. just a suggestion.
actually, with glyph of lashes of pain and succubus instead of felguard, does more damage singletarget, not AoE ofc, since felguard got the ownage felstorm ability.
Whoever said succubus does less single target damage then felguard, you are mistaken. EJ, as well as other sources have run simulations with Glyph of Lash of Pain, and it's about 200dps higher then using felguard on single targets.

Witch all blues, i easy maked it 10k, selfbuffed, as assasination, and im not proud, and its not hard, im just saying that 8k really isnt that much, and especially not in Cataclysm, and i have allways played warlock, and when i first saw that they only did 8k as demo, i actually got abit pissed. Your demons felstorm ability is not on autocast, meaning you have to use it yourself. This is probably why the Felguard seems to perform poorly on your test. I suggest redoing this test since Felstorm is a very strong ability.
Can someone please explain why is SB better than Incinerate? With 2/2 emberstorm (+with glyph of incinerate), incinerate should be better simply because it takes less time to cast.
You have to understand how haste works.. the amount of ticks on your immolate are increased based on the soft caps you reach from haste.. as a demolock you're main source of dmg is immo - so glyphs should be immo/meta/ and incinerate! yes incinerate - with the procs from MC and a 100% uptime from immolate this is tons of dmg. You need to also proc meta at the begining to maximize its uptime during a fight..
To be honest I don't think is the best demo dps rotation vid I've seen. One you never used your felgaurds abilities and didn't use soulburn for an instant cast for soulfire to start with. Your glyphs/talents are set up is wrong. Glyphs are: incin, fel, and imm. Plus from the recount it shows that imm was 2nd in damage and shows you should palce 2 talent points in improved imm instead of emberstorm when soulfire and incin should not be cast that often.
@TheIlovecookiesandu Oooh how ignorant you are. First, this video was made a long time ago and done on the cata beta... Second, Soulfire is now cast very often to refresh the 15 second buff not to mention the decimation phase. Glyphs are Immolate, Meta, and Lash of Pain. Succubus does more dps than felguard, use it. The talents points for immolate should be removed from shadow and flame, not emberstorm. Lol. Get with the times.

Curious what you think about the recent 12% damage nerf down the board to warlocks. Seemed like affliction warlocks were pulling crazy damage in 25 man beta raids ~20k dps. In conjunction to mage who were running about 17k if they were lucky. As for corruption that debate has raged on since TBC and I honestly only cast it during periods of movement and don't make it a priority in my rotation. I'm reluctant to take Bane it only benefits immo for .5sec vs 20% dmg plus it gets refreshed by guldan.
@lavisblade I raided last night after the patch and the lock in our raid was still doing "ok" dps but the nerf was definitely felt. I don't think it will stick; locks weren't even top dps, so why nerf them and not ferals or fury? Mages and rogues are underpowered (or were before the patch, haven't seen new numbers yet).
Couple of questions, can u use Inferno or Doomguard in Arenas or Raids? Will Demonology be the main PvP specc [crossed fingers]? Are there any new spells in Demon Form?
rofl demonic aegis is so not useless. try hellfire with that on :-) no hp lost btw its % of your total hp thats quit alot it makes it do double what it already does its pretty nifty
@escafallen The damage lost to Hellfire is very very tiny, not like in Vanilla where it was a serious drawback. Besides, Fel Armor's bonuses improve Hellfire enough that there is no question which to take. Demonic Aegis might have a PVP niche but these videos are about PVE DPS, and DA is quite useless in fact for that.
@escafallen Yes, Master Summoner is probably worse than DA, you are right about that (it should be a minor glyph, at best). Fel Flame is indeed extremely useful when moving (which is 99% of all boss fights) but there was no need to cast it against this stationary dummy. If I'm standing still, I'd rather spend the GCD on a quick immo cast, since it gives the full duration instead of 6 seconds. I have DE on the spell bar but I'm not casting it, I'm using Demon Soul which gives you a haste bonus.
@tgnWorldOfWarcraft yes demon soul rock but demonic empowerment? kinda waste of points might aswell get the heal and the aegis. since those passively benifit and demonic empowerment removes al stuns ? ye need to be activated be4 you get stunned to work and also in pve usualy aoe stuns so no effect :P unless you time it but that time is better used dpsinng
Donno if I'm missing something but doesn't a decent amount of the Felguard's damage come from Felstorm? From what i saw you didn't use felstorm, which may be why his damage seeemed low compared to your Succubus' damage.
Ive been doing some tests of my own and what I concluded corruption is probably not worth it, because of the changes to molten core it doesnt yell out use me, and doesnt really bring any utility apart from an extra DoT, and demo has a lot of stuff as you said going on so its probably not worth using it unless your very comfortable with the spec, and even if its probably not worth it.

Witch all blues, i easy maked it 10k, selfbuffed, as assasination, and im not proud, and its not hard, im just saying that 8k really isnt that much, and especially not in Cataclysm, and i have allways played warlock, and when i first saw that they only did 8k as demo, i actually got abit pissed. Anyways i agree with the most youre saying, i just hope that it gets better.

So, just out of curiosity, what do you think of glyph of corruption? I know your video says people ignore it for less stress during battle, but I was curious what you think about using it. It's a free shadowbolt proc...perhaps I'm just an idiot.

Your demons felstorm ability is not on autocast, meaning you have to use it yourself. This is probably why the Felguard seems to perform poorly on your test. I suggest redoing this test since Felstorm is a very strong ability.

Can someone please explain why is SB better than Incinerate? With 2/2 emberstorm (+with glyph of incinerate), incinerate should be better simply because it takes less time to cast.

You have to understand how haste works.. the amount of ticks on your immolate are increased based on the soft caps you reach from haste.. as a demolock you're main source of dmg is immo - so glyphs should be immo/meta/ and incinerate! yes incinerate - with the procs from MC and a 100% uptime from immolate this is tons of dmg. You need to also proc meta at the begining to maximize its uptime during a fight..

To be honest I don't think is the best demo dps rotation vid I've seen. One you never used your felgaurds abilities and didn't use soulburn for an instant cast for soulfire to start with. Your glyphs/talents are set up is wrong. Glyphs are: incin, fel, and imm. Plus from the recount it shows that imm was 2nd in damage and shows you should palce 2 talent points in improved imm instead of emberstorm when soulfire and incin should not be cast that often.

@TheIlovecookiesandu Oooh how ignorant you are. First, this video was made a long time ago and done on the cata beta... Second, Soulfire is now cast very often to refresh the 15 second buff not to mention the decimation phase. Glyphs are Immolate, Meta, and Lash of Pain. Succubus does more dps than felguard, use it. The talents points for immolate should be removed from shadow and flame, not emberstorm. Lol. Get with the times.

Curious what you think about the recent 12% damage nerf down the board to warlocks. Seemed like affliction warlocks were pulling crazy damage in 25 man beta raids ~20k dps. In conjunction to mage who were running about 17k if they were lucky. As for corruption that debate has raged on since TBC and I honestly only cast it during periods of movement and don't make it a priority in my rotation. I'm reluctant to take Bane it only benefits immo for .5sec vs 20% dmg plus it gets refreshed by guldan.

@lavisblade I raided last night after the patch and the lock in our raid was still doing "ok" dps but the nerf was definitely felt. I don't think it will stick; locks weren't even top dps, so why nerf them and not ferals or fury? Mages and rogues are underpowered (or were before the patch, haven't seen new numbers yet).

rofl demonic aegis is so not useless. try hellfire with that on :-) no hp lost btw its % of your total hp thats quit alot it makes it do double what it already does its pretty nifty

@escafallen The damage lost to Hellfire is very very tiny, not like in Vanilla where it was a serious drawback. Besides, Fel Armor's bonuses improve Hellfire enough that there is no question which to take. Demonic Aegis might have a PVP niche but these videos are about PVE DPS, and DA is quite useless in fact for that.

and fel flame is mega usefull indeed thats what we needed for immo keep up so u can time that guldan just that bit better
also what i use to not forget hand of guldan is power aura;s aura when its available in combat so as soon as its available you see something

@escafallen Yes, Master Summoner is probably worse than DA, you are right about that (it should be a minor glyph, at best). Fel Flame is indeed extremely useful when moving (which is 99% of all boss fights) but there was no need to cast it against this stationary dummy. If I'm standing still, I'd rather spend the GCD on a quick immo cast, since it gives the full duration instead of 6 seconds. I have DE on the spell bar but I'm not casting it, I'm using Demon Soul which gives you a haste bonus.

@tgnWorldOfWarcraft yes demon soul rock but demonic empowerment? kinda waste of points might aswell get the heal and the aegis. since those passively benifit and demonic empowerment removes al stuns ? ye need to be activated be4 you get stunned to work and also in pve usualy aoe stuns so no effect :P unless you time it but that time is better used dpsinng

Donno if I'm missing something but doesn't a decent amount of the Felguard's damage come from Felstorm? From what i saw you didn't use felstorm, which may be why his damage seeemed low compared to your Succubus' damage.

Ive been doing some tests of my own and what I concluded corruption is probably not worth it, because of the changes to molten core it doesnt yell out use me, and doesnt really bring any utility apart from an extra DoT, and demo has a lot of stuff as you said going on so its probably not worth using it unless your very comfortable with the spec, and even if its probably not worth it.

eh on cata beta improved soul fire give 15% all the time. on live it only give the buff when a target is at 80%+ hp. so wich one do we follow?
