  • yes i know how pride got started. I knew one of the Female impersonators who was there that night.

congrats on finding my $20 please send back. LOL

  • I know its everything going up in price its terrible, its getting harder to survive.

Sorry bout your rent going up.

but congrads on the 20 dollar bill, thats always nice.

  • Lesli: It will all work out. We were looking at moving this fall but this was just the little nudge we needed. We found a place, just around the corner actually, and it won't be much more and will be much bigger. WooHoo!

And yes, $20 is nice. I haven't found a bill that large in a very long time.

  • I wonder if you let it dissolve in your coffee will it make it thick like corn starch does. There could be a whole new show, Cooking with Cutlery :)

  • Well, we do know that it doesn't disolve in just plain water because we tried that for two days. Coffee on the other hand....hmmmm, I shall give it a try.

  • I saw those utensils on a show somewhere. They cost just a little more than plastic. They also make containers out of that stuff. It's wonderful because they decompose in the Earth. Oh man, you're gonna move. We will have to get used to a new background!!

  • Beth: And with all the waste that goes on at Microsoft, it really does make sense.

We're not moving until September, so you'll still be seeing the blue and yellow for a bit longer :)

  • I wish I could buy a house. That is my dream. To buy a house in California.

anyways, interesting vlog. I think I am going to buy that plastic ware. I like shit like that.

Slider9012 is not a huge fan of pride. I really despise it. Most gays hate me, so that's why I don't go to pride. plus, even if I wanted to go...i have no one to go with

  • I used to really want to buy a house, but if I did that, I would have to move somewhere MUCH more affordable. And I would rather rent and have fun then buy and eat Ramen Noodles for the next 20 years.

We don't do much for pride. We will probably go out on Saturday then go to the parade on Sunday-nothing too crazy. And it's supposed to be in the mid 80's which will be our first taste of summer.

  • wow, $90/mo is a big jump! does this one have a balcony you're moving to?I thought I remember you saying you wanted one. ok, that is not a shovel, but looks like one of those muse-buche spoons(can't spell it correctly) which means, 'just a taste, or just a tease'.you know those spoons that the fancy appetizers come on. I'm thinking that it got started as a result of the Stonewall riots? seems as though I remember reading that or seeing it somewhere on HERE tv.

  • Susan: I hope we can find one with a balcony. There are a couple of units we want to see, it really depends on the area of town and how much they want for rent. But a balcony would be Most Excellent!

Yes, the spoons don't look like they would hold much soup. And if I did eat soup with them, the spoons would melt anyway, so either way, I don't think it works very well.

Yup-the Stonewall Riots. Now for the bonus question: Do you know what they were "rioting" about?

  • well let's see.the bar was always being raided and the patrons harrassed. There was a guy that was taken and beaten by the officers unfairly? the crowds gathered and became outraged. Didn't the actual Inn burn down? or they tore it down and it is not there anymore? I know alot of stories differ as to how the actual riot got started.I'm sure there are probably several accounts that are true and seen from different viewpoints in all the chaos.

  • and can I also say Craig that for as long as I heard that term, Stonewall Riots, I always thought it was some Civil War skirmish. I know. I am a bit embarrassed to admit it but until I saw that documentary I didn't know. When the police would do these routine raids, wouldn't they also check to make sure the IDs matched the gender and if they found someone that was not wearing 'gender-appropriate' attire, they'd arrest them? wish I could remember exactly that movie/documentary I saw.was well done

  • $90 - wow, that seems like a big increase! At least it made your decision to move a lot easier! A $20 bill! Cool, remember, found money is PLAY money - not to be spent on bills. Compostable silverware just sounds wrong. yuck. Can't wait to hear the answer on how Pride got started! Have fun at the parade, take lots of pictures, it sounds like a blast! Love you sweetie, hugs to Shawn!

    Joanie

  • Joanie: Some people think 90 is nothing. Me, I think it is waaay to much especially since they haven't really fixed anything around here.

And I agree-it's play money. But how to play with it. Probably dinner on Friday evening.

The silverware is a little wierd, but they do go through too much waste so I can understand why they made that choice. And I will take lots of pictures to put up. Have a great rest of your week and Shawn says hello right back!

  • Having a good week here! Had to take Duke my foster dog back today. A bit sad really; but he will make someone a great service dog!

Yeah, 500 sq ft is pretty small for two people. But it does have personality! And great colors too!

Well at least you got a fork *and* a spoon. No Spork! LOL

No, I don't know. I hope you will tell me! :0)

  • Joyce: That would just be too hard to get attached to the puppies and then have to take them back. But it's a great service.

The apartment is small - cozy is the word they use. But it has worked this long. We are looking forward to having an actual hallway. Just the simple things.

    Yes, and knife--tee hee.

I'll tell everybody this weekend. Have a good one!

  • Hey, Craig..good opportunity to upgrade the living space! I hope you don't have to go thru any hassles to get your security deposit back. I wonder how long it takes those "plastic" utensils to degrade..imagine opening your kitchen drawer and seeing a pile of starch there! LOL! Gay days were here in Orlando about 3 weeks ago, with red shirts the order of the day, especially at the theme parks! Mom continues about the same. :) Jack

  • Jack: I'm not sure how long it will take, but we'll get something. We better anyway :)

Well, they melt in hot liquid so I don't think it would take too long.

I think it would be tons of fun to attend Gay Days! Gays and Disney...is there a better combo?

Good! I'm so glad your mother is at least stable. Thanks for letting me know.
