  • now he is such a bad player he swings way 2 late and finds lots of outside edges he didnt even get picked 4 the boxing day team against india 2011/2012

  • Mute button we meet again....

  • Hahah I can't say that I've seen too many batsman go for a 6 when they're on 99. He has strange technique, but hey, if it works it works.

  • He reminds me so much of Ganguly. Unusual technique, gifted timing, two centuries in his first tour & that too overseas and no to forget the short ball vulnerability. Do he have the bounce-back-ability of Ganguly?

  • @saadparekh haha wats bounce-back-ability? you mean proving his critics wrong? well we'll just have to wait and see.

  • I'm sure Hughesy will become a great player for us in time, he's still young, and he's definitely been working on his technique. Given the proper time and opportunity, he can easily be as good as Hayden, Langer, Katich and Watson have been for us.

  • its a shame hughes hasen't been making runs. I have alot of time for him, I think he is a potential match winner. It seems watching this innings against SA, he is playing his natural game, but against England, he was much more defensive and look a different player than the player who pumped SA and domestic bowlers around Australia.

It is not easy coming into a team mid series, when everyone is performing terrible. If he was batting with Hayden or Langer now, confidence would be much higher.

  • @sweetandsoward1 Exactly, im sure if he knew he wasnt going to be potentially run out by Watson every ball, there wouldnt be an issue

  • Thanks for uploading this vid! I could watch Hughes bat all day.

  • Why the bloody Linkin Park song?

  • @SempreSami I regret it myself now, didn't like the commentary though, SA commies are so boring. Sorry can't re-upload it as I don't have the original.

  • His technique is extremely Unusual and Unorthodox. His shot making is UGLY to say the least.

  • what a legend

  • Any Aussie here? Please explain how a player who is very vulnerable to short bowling scored back to back hundreds against Dale Steyn and Co.? How good is his domestic record?

  • @tintumonuttan is that a rhetorical question?

Well it is believed that SA didn't bowl at his body enough. He is averaging above 50 at both Test and FC cricket.

  • @Binkycool He will certainly have tough time against the Poms. They are going to pepper him and FRY him on the perth Pitch.GO ENGLAND GO.

  • @tintumonuttan if you look at how bowlers like Flintoff got him, it wasn't the short ball itself but the follow-up. The short ball seemed to shake him, and he lost his balance and confidence on the front foot. Because his technicque is so unorthadox that quickly became a problem, as he is presenting funny edges rather than the flat face of the bat. Flintoff edged him out, rather than got him out on the pull or with short catchers. Maybe SA didn't use the tactic of mixing short and full balls?

  • @tintumonuttan They also said that Bradman had a weakness against short pitched bowling and didn't have a good technique!

He has an unusual technique and got out a couple of times because of it. The selectors overreacted badly in dropping him. He has amazing coordination and will dominate test cricket for a decade if persisted with.

  • @tintumonuttan They also said Bradman had a poor technique and had a weakness against short pitched bowling!

His unusual technique got him out a couple of times, he was only 21! He has amazing coordination and will dominate test cricket for a decade if persisted with

  • @tintumonuttan The Poms figured him out during the Ashes tour, he hasn't been the same since. His domestic record at the moment is pretty shocking, he's still pretty young so there's time for him to figure out how to fix his problems.

  • @tintumonuttan I'm Aussie. He was not that vulnerable to short pitched bowling. He has an unusual technique but so what! People said Steve Waugh was vulnerable to short bowling. Hughes' biggest problem cam from inept selectors, who have now been sacked. Hughes made 1000 runs in 6 weeks and after just 2 low scores was dropped and told to change his technique. Hughes hasn't been the same since, he's trying to please the slectors instead of simply watching the ball and smacking it. Fantastic eye.

  • In the next year or two, Katich is going to retire, then it'll be Watson and Hughes at the top of the order. What a pairing that would be!

  • @imrepohl What a pairing its going to have to be! :p

  • oustanding strokeplay, outstanding inning, outstanding playeerr!

  • bret is stupid

  • screw you bret

  • that boy bat like a brian lara he awesome

  • His technique is so bad it's almost perfect.

  • Finally got this video.

  • Cricket fans everywhere... do yourself a favour and watch 1:25. This is why he is a gun! Stands up no matter what and backs himself to play the shots that he knows he can play. Who cares about his awkward technique if he can hit balls like this that no one else can!

  • @TotalCricketer Has a great eye so he can do whatever he wants with the bat. Should he be back for the 2010/2011 Ashes? Yes! Yes! Yes!

  • Two great videos, well done. Can't wait to see more...

  • @TotalCricketer thanks :)

  • @TotalCricketer Ah three!
