  • 19 people have a penis the size of the dislike bar.

  • Dont hate on the dislikers, the haters are the people that make musician thrive for more success every good musician needs a few haters.

  • i am confused :)

  • Nineteen unattractive older ladies ... he married a young woman.

  • Inspiring genius, maybe there is hope for us after all. Love.

  • let us learn to accept and forgive those who click the dislike button by mistake on such beautiful videos. Thought wrong, we must be certain that they are sorry souls and that one day, we may all take their place, even if only for just one unfortunate video.

  • ...tommy playing defines the word magic...i can hear and see the robin bird...you are in a class all on your own mr emmanuel.

  • Every song he plays sings. And that friends is when it becomes magic.

  • As to my opinion, he's the best steelstring acoustic player there is, up to this date. Incredibly beautiful stuff. Respect!

  • this shouldn't have a dislike bar...

  • @Persicutor Which BAR? I just see a tiny dottie. Like, umm, fly shit.

  • Tommy is true natural talent. Love his work, his makes it look somewhat effortless, at least for him. Great stuff. Awesome!

  • it's impossible to see him play live..

i was in his concert last year, half the people ended up in the hospital.

    all needing oxygen therapy...

  • Romantic flamenco 'Australian Kiss.' What's an Australian kiss? Just like a French kiss, but down under.

  • ave

qui a composé cette piece ???

    T e ou any one else ?

  • this man loves the music.

  • Fabulous guitarist. I can't begin to describe the level he's playing at, because he may be the only one there. It's not just his playing, but the way he presents the music.

  • 19 deaf people need to reinstall their audio drivers.

  • I Cried at the end..

  • this man has to be one of the most skillful guitarists of our day and hardly anyone has heard of him! spread the word! let's get this guy to pack some stadiums! he deserves WAY more fame than he is given

  • @nobwainsfewix i throw his name at just about everyone i discuss music with and damn sure every guitar player i meet

  • @nelsop2 I think he means the younger generations??? cuz i beat that the young guitarists out there havnt heard of this guy yet.... :p he hasnt been around for ages like Mr Satriani (biggest guitar movement) and so young people dont have the knowledge of this awesome man :D

  • @rmill7 Sorry um... but... um... Mr Satriani is one year YOUNGER than Tommy, and Tommy was a working professional musician at age 6 lol. Satriani's popularity is only greater thanks to the different genres of music, but the statement "ha hasn't been around for ages like Mr Satriani" is just flat wrong on several levels :)

  • @Rationalist001 :l Nerd........... hahah i didn't want a history lesson.... And responding only makes you even more lame (cough get a life and not stalk people) I feel like being a dick :)

  • i cant even describe what this song makes me feel...

  • What I dont understand is that how in the world does Justin Beiber get over 400 million veiws; and this amazing, emotional, vivid, beutiful SONG only has 500 thousand. Songs tell stories, and even though this has no words, it tells the story vividly and better than anyone reading a book could. Now THAT is talent and a gift from God. Music is single handedly THE best way we can share our emotions as a human race. Without music where are we? im open to all music EXEPT the new music today. it's sad

  • @MrGuitarphenomenon Shows what kind of ears the general public has...

  • He's an amazing cat......really beautiful player. He doesn't swing(He's Australian)

because he didn't grow up that way. Martin Taylor (Scottish/English) didn't either, but manages to swing his ass off! Try to avoid superlatives like 'best,' or 'greatest.'

They're irrelevant and meaningless. I'd drive 200 miles and pay a full cover charge to hear this guy live. To me, that says it all.....'specially at today's prices.

  • He's not just thE best allround guitarist today, also one of the kindest people around. I've seen alot of his shows and had a talk with hem once. Despite he knows he's THAT good he stays very obliging and humble

  • so far the only person i've seen that can compare to tommy emmanuel in talent is phil keaggy, and he is much older.

  • Comment removed

  • Classical steel. Brilliant!

  • Hey Michael, Ive watched him in the 80's Goldrush, emanuel brothers, yep ait he and phil great, i will try get tickets myself for the star city gig.

hope we can have a beer

    Nicco

  • I wonder what Paco de lucia has to say about this....probably a simple, "Yes"

  • @JesuitFarmer :D:D:D:D LoL, this made me laugh (in a good sense ofc). Hahah. I mean I found it funny imagining Paco de Lucia listening to this, just nodding his head and saying 'yes' on the end :D hahah. Thanks for a nice comment :)

  • absoulute genius

  • holy shred batman!

  • Mr. Emmanuel. Could you please have sex with my sister? I'd like to have a baby one of you in my family.

  • Its always great to read comments of his fans , besides listening to his music. I have been listening to him for quite a while...My opinion...there come by once in a couple of hundred years a person is born with all the right genes , & Tommy has its all and besides he loves what he does and gives it all...A lesson for life ...Thanks for posting this beauty ..not as popular as some of his but a real favourite ...Cheers

  • Just like Eddie Van Halen said about great music: "If it makes the fur rise, then you know it's good."

  • TE shows you what a true guitar virtuoso can do, stunning display of skill and total mastery of this great instrumemt !

  • 18 people are deaf people envious of the hearing.

  • @SuperGamer87 Sometimes I can't believe a human being that make something that sounds like this until I see Tommy Emmanuel play it.

  • He is the god of guitarist. I dont think anyone will not agree..

  • @pbabbat Yes, himself

  • yeah i got the 1000th like

  • The greatest of all time, but can anyone tell me who is playing at 1:22 ??? he strums up and then his hand comes down but im pretty certain he doesnt touch the strings, sooooo..... does the guitar play itself in order to prove its worth to the greatest guitar player alive ????

  • @ThePoet011 yeah! I see it. thanks for pointing that out. mmmm...that raises a big question.

  • @ThePoet011 Yeah, I checked that part out as well, and it does seem kind of weird, maybe bad editing, or just something fishy. Good question though.

  • @DeletedDolls it seems to be bad editing because on the next scene, he was already changing note, hinting that he was already playing one, but not for certain

  • @ThePoet011 There are two scenes because he is unplugged: One with TE playing the song with a microphone set in front of his right hand and second scene, where there is no microphone in front of him. The audio track is solely from the first scene. On the wider camera shots, I guess the director thought the microphone got in the way.

  • гитара не строит ))

  • i love how the caption is saying the storm warning has been lifted in central korea

  • God damn!

  • I clicked on this vid by accident. I don't even like this type of music and I was gonna click something else but he played so... I don't even know how to describe it!!! It's like a siren calling to you! This is too beautiful!!!

  • tommy's talent is God given, and i think he relises that.

  • Oh. My. God. Every time I here him play, I am struck by how fortunate we are to find people who have the right intersection of God-given technical talent, passion and interpretive ability to craft magic like this. For those who just consider Tommy purely a technician, they should hear this. Tommy, I am not worthy....

  • Tommy is a living time capsule of sorts. That is to say he's a decendent of a different era in music when Musicians left their ego's at the front door and it was truly about the music. My father was a talented Jazz guitarist & took me to see Joe Pass at Blues Alley (1975). Driving home I felt so fortunate to have witnessed the limitless talent of Joe Pass in a club that held at most 70 persons. I asked my Dad why JP wasn't a household name. "People just dont see it". I'm so glad we do!

  • Just look at the heart and soul this guy puts into playing his guitar.

I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.

    Incredible.

  • Watch his tour schedule and try to go hear him live.

  • awesome.

Every time i watch and listen to his playing i break down...

  • If I could see this man live, my life would be complete.

  • @Foovirna then buy the next available tickets to one of his shows. Don't mind your economy. I didn't. Seeing him in August in Sweden. A w e s o m e.

  • its Tommy`s soul we are listning to and he tranfer it trough his guitar thats why nobody can play his music like he does!

  • I have a Robin that comes back every year to nest and she just takes over my pernnial garden and makes her nest in the tree next to the bird bath and this song just is so wonder ful because i think of it when I see her out ther purched on the bird bath thinking the garden is all hers. And she does. Thank you Tommy for you beautiful music and how we relate to nature and life with you music. Thank you so much.

  • Every time I come here. No matter what I am looking for. I always ALWAYS!!!! End up looking at a Tommy Vid b4 I leave. One word.......... AWESOME!!! :)

  • @FatalityG15 me too :DD

  • Utterly.......thanks, Steve, wherever you are tonight, for introducing me to Tommy..

  • im not too sure why to call Tommy Emmanuel a shredder? You obviously have not listened to Tommy Emmanuel? There are only a few people in this world that can show emotion through music as much as Tommy does. Listen to a song like Angelina, simply amazing...or how about Mombasa?

Yeah, I guess some of the phrases in this song could be considered "shredding" but that's not what Tommy was aiming for here. Listen to the song again and imagine a Robin in your front yard while listening.

  • this music helps me and god connect in a great way....

  • To be honest I don't care What Julliard has to say how Tommy.

  • true

  • i`ve seen him play live and what comes out of these guitars of his is not of this planet. he spellbounds you with his songs and tunes, and i just cant stop listen to him . He have a style of his own and no one comes near him in talent.

I love that you are on this planet at the same time as i am so i can keep on watching and listen to your beautiful songs.

  • @mattisbig45

yiou know it's actually literally likely he's not of this planet? :D

  • @mattisbig45

yeah he is one of the best Players =)

  • Fantastic!!!:D

  • Amazing!

  • I just wonder.... why is it that no major school of music in the world acknowledged Tommy as a master of this incredible instrument - the guitar???? What does the competent board of directory of ... say - Julliard.... have to say or comment on Tommy's exceptional performance & skill???... is this to be accepted just a mere performance or an "out of the ordinary".... song,... or a justified "Genius" of Tommy's composing intellect???

  • I predict, just as schools used to have no classical guitar, until Segovia - and no jazz depts, until Berklee....fingerstyle guitar will find it's way into the schools. Only problem is that playing on teh road is more fun than teachinG!!! :-)

  • @k66nyc tommy probably doesn't care what people think of him, he plays because he loves it.

but i know what you mean, i would make him a national hero!

  • you're right about the clarity, but there's so much more the absolute precisness and acuteness of playing . and the slight bending and subtle note changing. a bit like federer ,the tennis player its the ability to control and maintain it at that level of precision, without losing the spirit of the song

  • Tommy's greatest attribute? (in my opinion) Clarity. Damn he's clear...There's a lot of players who can copy him, but there's a very short line of people who can get that clarity between notes that he does so effortlessly.

  • I think you are exactly right. I am always hearing people playing really fast, which is ok, but for me there is a significant difference between those that play fast and those that play beautifully. Tommy plays incredibly beautifully.

  • @Fluffbad Tommy plays music and uses his superb technique to reach this level. But he never let's himself get distracted too much off the main purpose: making music!!

Shredders.... BLEGH. What a waste of time if you ask me.

  • shreddings music too .. and people invest much time into getting a good and fast player .. whats so wrong with that ?

just because it doesn't sound like ... dunno .. Bach or something Oo

  • @Powerslider Dont judge shred by what is popular in shredding. As is true with alot of music. Look up Guthrie Govan he takes electric guitar to a whole new level. True mastery of the fretboard. Tommy is still number 1 though!

  • @michaeljjeffrey Martin Tallström! check him out! Cheers!

  • @michaeljjeffrey While he's playing this song he is thinking of his mama looking for food.

  • @michaeljjeffrey damn right you are mate :) very nice comment, so very true :)

  • @SeriousSam7700 Thanks mate! I had no idea my comment had 42 thumbs up. ha ha... wow... I've loved Tommy for years! Before he went on his huge American tour, he was mostly popular in Oz. I went to see him in Picton NSW, and got him to sign my Maton... That was cool !! He was playing with an American named Steve Bennett. They'd played together, it was great... I'm going to see him and his brother play next month "50 YR Anniversary" tour at the Star Casino in Sydney..

  • Will the real guitar player please stand up.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner.

  • he is amazing, but why has no one mentioned Eduardo Niebla??

  • Tommy is, in my humble opinion, the best in the world. I have been asking and anticipating- for many years- an invite to do a unique G3 with Tommy as guest. Why not? Except that he may show Joe and Steve up on his dodgy old acoustic Maton and is not an Ibanez endorsee... C'mon, what real guitarist would not like to see that...???

  • I would, but what about Paco Delucia or Vai or Segovia? To say Tommy is the best in the world is kind of reaching, each has their own style and talents and built off of those who came before them. Is he good, hell yes! But the best? What about the guitarists you've never seen, before modern communications ...prolly never seen the worlds best. Just enjoy it all and be happy we have their talents and music!

  • Yeah, I do agree. I mentioned Vai (Joe and Steve). At least it is refreshing for us to have slightly differing opinions and not have to engage in these ludicrous pissing contests that the younger players do. It is all about our love of the instrument, not title's like 'best' and so on. I should have said, referring to contemporary steel-string acoustic fingerstyle players, he is- from those I have seen so far- the one I enjoy the most. Ya absolutely right to pull me up. Check out Joe Robinson...

  • Agreed, I also agree with you that he really is one of the best I've ever seen. :P

On a side note, I love the guitar community!! There is such a humbleness exhibited by all players to be helpful and kind when critiquing each other. There's almost no competition at all. Everyone understands that classification of music exists only in the mind of the ignorant. I've literally seen the best players helping new players with no judgment at all. Best social community in the world! MrChevy proves that!

  • you should also check out andy mckee, antoine dufour, and trevor gordon hall.

  • Those guys play different styles. You can be the best in your own style. Which Tommy imho, is. Personally I don't even like Vai that much, and Segovia is more famous for being the "father" of classical guitar and an amazing teacher, rather than for his technique or virtuosity.

  • Obvious clueless youtube troll is obvious

  • 0:50 - 0:56 Sonds like Soul Cake by Sting :O

  • 2:37 Oh my.

  • Let me say this to you all you might read the tab but you will never come close to playing this as Tommy does. Dont write back and say you can.

  • While you are mostly correct in that Tommy is a rare man born with a rare talent. However there are others... the rarity comes in those that actually spend the time honing that God given gift. I would never claim to be anything clsoe to Tommy Emmanuel but after months of practice I have come to be able to play some of his compositions flawlessly in my opinion. But being able to cover a song is one thing, to compose one is entirely another.

  • Onuund

...and as your mouth spews crap, we see Tommy up on stage and not you.

    STFU.

  • Listen to what Steve Vai has to say about this guy.

Its one of the center stage clips.

I think its 3:54 mins long.

  • whoz stev vay? i dun really care

  • Who is Steve Vai? I dont really care.

What the fuck you asking who Steve Vai is for you moron if you dun really care.

Your obviously a bit slow so I will give you a pass. Now go and multiply with the rest of your family!

Oh, Steve Vai is one of the top electric guitarists of all time.

I have lowered myself talking to you and must now go kick my dog.

  • This guy is funny :D

  • Type in tommy emmanuell steve vai.

Listen to what Steve Vai has to say about this guy.

Its one of the center stage clips.

I think its 3:54 mins long.

  • @Onuund your obviousily a complete moron. im not saying some metal guitarists aren't talented but tommy is far beyond the shit you listen to. haha if your a musician i can't believe you could even thing that this guy isn't a musical genius.

  • Clearly joking, amigo.

  • @Onuund Blood runs black? Are you serious? You consider that shit music? loser

  • if you think that its easy to play Tommy Emmanuel music, please release some videos where someone play better than he.Reach the level of this musician and than speak about his talent . and its stupid thing to compare acoustic music with metalcore.but i think that Tommy Emmanuel play guitar 1000 times faster than "s blood runs black' plays .

  • Comment removed

  • metal players dont speed their stuff up

  • lololol troll alert lolz

  • Buy his tab book its a major help and really quite easy

  • Ever wondered how god on a guitar would sound like just listen to this,..

  • jesus was more likely to be the type to make his guitar.

  • i can get everything down except the line that starts at 1:40, just so fast and so accurate

  • @huix107

That's quite ironic as that is the only part of this song I could do a fair job of playing. Of course I am an electric guitarist, so it's more in my field than the beautiful picking.

  • do you use a thumbpick? i highly recomend one, i bought mine for only a mounth ago and it makes the bass notes ring more and sound cleaner.

  • No, I don't. I think I would have a hard time using a thumbpick though. But when you say it like that I'll have to try it. Thanks for the tip.

  • simply amazing

  • Tommy is not God. He's God's channel to us.

  • Amen to that brother.

  • tommy emmanuel is god!!! so there

  • at 2:30 its simply fantaastic.

  • at 1:22 there is an up stroke chord and his right hand has not touched the strings??? odd.

  • yeah, i think he did that with his heart

    :)

  • @punishr36 This was filmed twice, one with the mic infront of his guitar and one without the mic so they can pan out for full view without it being in the way of the shot, that's why it's kinda out of sync. Same with the song "Angelina" he did on this show, you can see the differences too.

  • indeed... seems like some really low backing track

  • Comment removed

  • thee camera angles in 06 sucked! the playing rules tho

  • 1:20 -> epic guitar skills, Tommy can play even without his hands (listen carefully and watch his right hand rofl) :D

  • ok, but even when i watch his left hand, i don't understand how he produce this sound....

  • whoa haha never realized that

  • yeah his guitar skills are amazing, ....but also a great songwriter! I love the melody and feel of this song.

  • big guitarist for a big indipendent kind of music i like very much

  • uauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!

  • Amazing Guitarist.

  • Someone wanna buy him a speed camera?

  • if i remember right...steve vai...one of the worlds most accomplished guitarists...said that TE was the best he'd ever seen...now that my friends...means you're a badass lol...keep it up TE...you are a tremendous inspiration to all guitarists...even if we're a little bit jealous haha

  • haha Vance i don't think A LITTLE BIT jealous is what i am feeling at the moment

  • Seen him twice in concert btw, in England. "The Hunt" is an absolute triumph in concert.

  • His guitar sound so good in these korean recordings.

  • Stunning! Simply stunning. I think Tommy Emmanuel is probably the best guitarist in the world!

  • No. Tommy Emmanuel is not the best, he's far above of the competition. He's far above god if we talk about guitar skills.

  • Tommy is actually a very Christian person supposedly. I've decided that I'm going to like him anyway as he is an awsome guitarist :)

  • Right on! I met him a few weeks ago, & spent time with him! He is a wonderful person, & treats everyone with repspect, & never meets a stranger. I believe he is using his gift for what was intended!

  • Yeah it was god.....not the 40 years of some of the most diligent practice the world has ever seen....Nope not that at all.

  • Of course you have to practice. Everyone knows that. You don't excel in you God given talent without hard work commitment & practice. You do that & God will bless it tenfold. I can attest to that myself. Without commitment & using it, it will go nowhere.

  • The best piece he has done , close your eyes and imagine a robin and you will see it ,

  • i like that he only records stuff for his Cd's that he acually can play, not very common these days.

  • thank you

nobody cares about the fact that music needs to be played anymore

  • one fo my fav ever for tommy

  • holy tommy shred..!!!..

  • Tommy is a real Guitar Player, he just don't play it, he understands the instrument at a depth very few ever get to musically. Since Chet passed, Tommy Emmanuel, in my opinion, is the best.

  • what a stupid ass comment.

  • uhh no hes not

  • Yeah man, Herman Li rocks. I saw him try and do a 5 string minor arpeggio sweep once that sounded like someone farting into a rockband microphone through a broken speaker.....!

  • hahaha so true.

  • love

  • one of if not the greatest guitar man.

i honestly cant think of somehow who can bring about such emotion and feeling through just one guitar and two hands.

    god bless you tommy.

  • have you ever heard stevie ray vaughan?

  • of course i have, maybe its cos im irish but i've always prefered rory gallagher. but in this case i just prefer tommy's style. i duno its just kinda unique. its just him. no one else. no band. nothing. just tommy and his guitar the whole way.

  • just did. can't compare the two, sure they are both fullblooded musicians, but of the opposite end of the spectrum

  • Yep :) Musically, its hard to compare, but they both have the "best"feel for the music, so passionate etc...:) Both rock.. (srv still favourite lol, im a TE newb)

  • I don't understand what you mean "rock"?

Tommy plays most of that out of rhythm ,free time, But it sounds a lot like flamenco!
