  • OMG O___O so that's where psychofreud got the lyrics

  • I think it absolutely fits in perfectly with OKC. Part of the reason I love Radiohead is how unpredictable and varied their music style is, even within the same record. I appreciated this bit of fast-paced guitar rock sandwiched in between the gloomier tracks.

  • Damn I love this song.

  • Needs more cowbell

  • @MRMATRONIC damn, i just realised how unoriginal that was

  • @MRMATRONIC lmao it keeps happening

  • I Might Be Wrong also has a blues guitar part

  • this song just makes me want to beat someone up, so it is kinda my less fav on OK, i mean its awesome, but uh, yeah...

  • Yes, I agree with the 136,000 other posters; needs more cowbell. MORE!!!! MORE DAMMIT!!!

    I live for the cowbell....

    well, not really....

  • weakest song on OKC. It throws you off the mood

  • @fede018 It might not work as part of an album, but as a standalone I find it to be quite an invigorating somewhat aggressive creature that I keep lending my ears to. :)

  • Someone explain the cowbell joke?

  • @85antoniosalazar Saturday night Live, its a famous skit involving Blue Oyster cult and Christopher Walken, I doubt you will find it on youtube, since alot of SNL stuff is taken off.

  • @85antoniosalazar listen closely and hear the cowbell in this song if you don't understand but A85antoniosalazar did a good job explaining where it originated.

  • 8 people failed to exercise their political duty

  • cowbells !

  • cowbell FTW

  • needs more cowbell.

  • I've got a fever....and the only prescription is more cowbell

  • this is the only radiohead song i like so i listen to a lot of QOTSA, but Dance Gavin Dance really makes everything else sound like shit. I didnt like em at first but they grew on me so paracitically, harder and faster than any catchy tune.

  • @Afroblack379 thats down that you like qotsa man. my cousin is joey castillo.

  • Needs more cowbell

  • sick guitar solo...........

  • Not enough cowbell

  • when people ask me what my facourite song is i say Ok computor, just a masterpiece

  • @Mongomaniac94 ok computer is an album not a song

  • @jailbreakir REALLy? are you retarded? i know it's an album lol, just the whole album is so good, as a joke i say ok computer is because i love all of them...you have been served.

  • @Mongomaniac94 you said it was a song, calling me a retard over me correcting you is kind of ridiculous, and me not knowing of your inside joke doesnt make me a retard either, so no, i dont think i have been served

  • @jailbreakir u mad?

  • OK Computer is my favorite Radiohead album. Ever.

  • If anyone does a Cowbell skit remake parody, they should definatly use this song and Radiohead.

  • dun dun dundundun dundundun dundundundun yeah!

  • the chorus fits brilliantly with what's going on in washington dc right now.

  • I've heard a few people criticize Ok Computer saying this song is weak. I will never understand those types of people.

  • Voodoo economics??? it's just business!!!

  • When I go forwards, you go backwards and somewhere we will meet - "Electioneering"

There's a gap in between, there's a gap where we meet, where I end and you begin - "Where I End And You Begin"

  • @idospeakenglish trippy man

  • The most underrated song out of every song on any of Radiohead's main LPs. Jonny's guitar work on this song is fucking razor sharp. Lovin' it.

  • かなりかっこいい!!

  • MotorStorm Arctic Edge.

  • MORE COWBELL!!!!!!

  • @jakeowns07 wrong band, dude....

  • @LolaLavonda oh hey thanks music buff, i definitely thought this was blue oyster cult and wasn't simply referencing the fact that there is a massive amount of cowbell in this song... thanks for clearing things up

  • @jakeowns07 oh wow thanks for overreacting, cuz i totally thought you had mistook radiohead for blue oyster cult and was trying to set you straight.... right.

  • I got a fever... and the only prescription is More Cowbell.

  • Needs more cowbell.

  • Comment removed

  • i hate hate HATE when people say this is one of the weaker songs on the album. I love this song, i think its one of their better 'loud' tracks, the cowbell, guitar, 'western' feel in the beginning, vocal in the chorus.. its all SO good

  • @dfeeel2

utterly agree, its one of my favorite radiohead songs, these rockers are so few and far between. This aibum needed a furious rocker, and like kid a had Optomistic, this one has Electroneering.

I love this song, because it was written about the 1997 election.

  • Ultimate cowbell song... calling home the cattle.

  • why do you fools argue so much over the dumbest shit? enjoy the music and let people interpret shit the way youd like to, on your own with your own interpretation

  • @ItsSomeDeadGuy each to their own.

Personally nothing Muse has done has been about very much. OKC is such an everyman record, it has something to say, and each song is another part of it's image, its a manifesto of an album, like Definatly Maybe. The fear of technology and the isolation it brings, the overbearing parania of the modern world, retirement is no solice, all you can hope is that one day the world will stop being so crazy and slow down.

    Best record of all time.

  • The beggining reminds me of red dead redemption. Maybe this song should have been in the game :D

  • People, Phill's drumming is MUCH more amazing than the Cowbell. If by the end of the song you aren't air drumming....you're dead to me.

  • @halifuckinfan lol i was air drumming since the song begin xD

  • Many think that Karma Police is the "cornerstone" of the album. I disagree, I think the slow pace set by Karma Police and Fitter Happier leads to Electioneering's loud sound, which is the real centerpiece.

  • I dont see anything wrong with the cowbell sometimes it just works like in this case and of course Houses of the Holy by Led Zeppelin hahah

  • Cold War Kids does a cover of this that is 100 times more listenable... maybe I'm saying that because CWK is my favorite band? No offence Radiohead but this is so Cowbell-y! haha

  • hey guys,i have a new plan:

    1- Enjoy the music.

2- Let other people enjoy what they want.

  • @hoihiugufufy BRILLIANT!

  • @hoihiugufufy NO!

  • @pdxbiker2009 My post: 4 months ago. Your response: 4 hours ago.

  • @hoihiugufufy Your plan sucks ass.

  • @KirbiesandYoshies Actually I kinda thought it was a pretty good idea.

  • I hope the do a cowbell tribute on SNL and use Radiohead's electioneering.

  • You god damn bastards talking about cowbell.

I CANT NOT HEAR THE COWBELL NOW

It's up in the foreground of my mind and everything, like some guy has walked into my memories of this song and intentionally started playing the cowbell part much louder.

    FFFFUUUUUUU-

  • I remember this song years ago in a skate video, not sure which one tho. 411 comes to mind, so does Circa, and Chris Cole

  • @anonymousQ45 thats cool, the only Radiohead tune I know of in a skate vid is polyethelyne Jason Dill in Photosynthesis(?)

  • this is erectioneering!

  • @BeeryGamer

why can't all comments be like this one

  • @MrSkyRemote because it wouldn't make sense on any other vid... but hey, I'll try it!

  • wooooooooooo!!!

  • I think that Electioneering is a really great, fast, concise, rock song. It begins like some kind of off-kilter alarm, tambourine and wailing wind. Thom Yorke finishes his lyrics pretty much without any warning and then there is that build up of anticipation from 2.35 to 2.51 followed by that instrumental ending - beautiful. Some other songs on OK Computer rock out at various points but Electioneering is the exception in doing in throughout - a vital inclusion on OK Computer to me.

  • @Picnicl ever thought about joining a music mag? ;)

  • @TheTrancereligious5 Thanks!I've been writing (in an amateur capacity) about music, videogames, TV, film, modern architecture.. for about 14 years and you can see from Amazon reviews that some writers are really good.I might try to get on a magazine one day but it would be very competitive in the internet age and it obviously pales in comparison to the creative effort and talent required to make what is reviewed. Enjoying what has been created and ways of looking at it and presenting it.

  • @Picnicl I am pretty sure that the most guys don't make it in a mag because they don't go for it. Just have a hit at it and see what happens. Pick some of your best reviews, let some people help you on decision making. Maybe write another one on something new. Maybe an internship will do it and so on just START :D

And when you really made it someday write an email to let me know what mag I should read from then on ;) (ps maybe dont start with the biiig mags)

  • @Picnicl true OK's got some of Radiohead's best rock out moments I think, Paranoid Android mid section, the Exit Music climax, Climbing up your walls, lucky at points, homesick alien chorus sorta, even the tourist towards the end....am I rambling again? no no definately not

  • Got an erection from electioneering.

  • JUST GIVE IT MORE COWBELL!!!

  • Great quality!

  • Want to learn this on the electric guitar :)

  • @xxTabimanxx wanna learn this on cowbell :) lol

  • excelent¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • I was a Nirvana fan before I got into Radiohead. But let me put it this way. The day I listened to OK Computer was the day I threw away all my other CD's in the fucking trash, including Nevermind. OK Computer was that fucking good. It made everything I owned sound like complete shit.

  • @SasquatchTestes

ok computer is that fuckin good!!!

but thats still a bit of an over reaction hahahaha :L

  • @SasquatchTestes wow thats crazy

  • @SasquatchTestes haha same I didnt throw all my stuff though, maybe just my hannah montana CDs

    JK JK

  • @SasquatchTestes That just makes you ignoramus apus.

  • @SasquatchTestes those are exactly my feelings.... I too feel that radiohead is incredibly polished music and does make other rock bands sound like un-finished articles by comparison. but you must remember that nirvana is a completely different genre. i could listen to metallica, then listen to ok computer and be convinced that metallica was music made by philistines with a gruff voiced talentless chump as a lead singer, but that would be comparing two bands with completely different styles...

  • @SasquatchTestes ikr, same with me, but i still am obsessed with nirvana

  • @SasquatchTestes Damn. you should have givin me your old cds. But Radiohead IS amazing.

  • @SasquatchTestes the day you start throwing out all your Cd's is the day you become a radiohead fan boy, you have to keep your mind open to other artists... and other radiohead albums

  • @Mongomaniac94 what i was going to say to him, the reason radiohead enjoys so much success is because they take influence from many different kinds of music which is what i believe people who like music should do also

  • @SasquatchTestes i wuda atlest sold my other cd's

  • @SasquatchTestes brain of shit throw away nevermind shameless

  • I think daft punks better HA!

  • I would like Nirvana more if it wern't for the creepy kurt worshippers.

He was profoundly fucked up, not some bloody hero

  • totally diffrent but both legends nirvana are great man so are RH

  • yea but they are definately better than NIrvana ;)

  • @YerJob Nirvana, legendary? maybe. Good? no.

  • I love it!

  • @jibblychupos Why don't you do a little research before making ignorant comments like this. This song was on "ok computer" which came out in 1997, 3 years before anyone even knew who coldplay was, and 8 years before "twisted logic" came out. So who exactly is ripping who off again.

  • @jibblychupos hahahahhahahaha yeah right IDIOT!! coldplay wishes they could play like these gods!!

You know how I know your gay?... you like coldplay...

  • @dannybiach Im gay and I dont like Coldplay.

  • @antisadism 40 y/0 virgin ftw

  • @antisadism

but how come you were on a coldplay video?? you commented on yello by coldplay

  • @dannybiach I'm a big Radiohead fan, but I reckon some stuff on Parachutes is quite good....Radiohead are WAAYY better though

  • @jibblychupos Coldplay has nothing on Radiohead tbh lol... Radiohead is a classic

  • @jibblychupos this song came out in 1997, and cold play's 'twisted logic' came out in 2003.

  • @jibblychupos this ALBUM came out in 1997 dumbshit. coldplays was in 2003. radiohead came out in like 1992 i dont see coldplay makin classic music like this

  • i know this song from motorstorm arctic edge °°

  • This has been a bit of 'victory' music for me. Stuck it on after I finished a couple of Cisco exams that I spent a year or more studying for each. Feels awesome popping out of the test centre and then sticking that one on.

  • i never really paid much attention to this song on the album, now i love it :D

  • @powerbackeyesitsme They're the greatest band of the past decade ,so shut your ignorant mouth.

  • @powerbackeyesitsme listen to paranoid android. thats not your average rock band. if you say you havent heard better from them, youve probably listened to like 2 songs

  • not played live since 98. Why did they stop playing this piece of awesomeness??? :/

  • Fuck. It needs more cowbell.

  • @Kperson123

    :)

  • Gotta have moar cowbell.

  • MORE COWBELL!!!

  • these are the most amazing lyrics!

when i go forwards you go backwards and somewhere we will meet!!

and this is quite possibly the best album of all time.

  • you're all a bunch of pieces of shit. u post all these prejudice comments all the time on utube and then wave in person. i rather join the illuminati then get trampled by your selfish feet in panic. FUCK YOU

  • ohh noe he started listening at 13, hes enlightened

  • i dont really like them but you al need to hear (easy star all star cover f this song)

  • @pissbucketvideos What an awful thing to say.

  • I don't really dig them so much anymore, but I've always enjoyed this song.

  • when i was younger my dad used to play their albums to me all the time, im 15 now and radiohead is like all i can listen to because their music is so amazing

  • plenty of bands DO make great albums. You just need to dig further than your top 20 charts now.

  • a ferocious riff.

  • FUCKING BEASTLY

  • @sajsSAMynwa1892 They do, there has been some brilliant albums lately, Haven't you heard In Rainbows? And this is definitely a canidate for one of the best albums EVER

  • Needs more cowbell!

  • I was 12 years old when OK Computer came out. It was one of the most fundamentally important albums of my upbringing. I owned 2 CDs when I was 13, this one and Siamese Dream.

  • @pselley Ok Computer at 13, that is a little heavy :P

  • @pselley When I was 13, Radiohead was just about all I listened to. I had all their cds and all but one of my friends said they weren't good, and that it was weird for me to be listening to them at 13. But they're so good. ((:

  • Wow, you had a pretty damn great start.

  • This is good.

I really like the Cold War Kids' version though.

  • I can't listen to this song without imagining Will Ferrell playing the cowbell.

  • Hell yeah.

  • @roseflutur09

    AAAAHHH!!!

    now i cant either xD

  • @roseflutur09 I can see what you mean

  • @roseflutur09 haha

  • @roseflutur09 whats the connection?

  • Radiohead are one of the best bands of our generations x}

  • is the*

  • I stand corrected ;]

  • people like to use "mainstream" as bad because the bands they liked in the first place change their style to stay in the spot light becoming a band the fans didnt want to hear

  • More cowbell!

    Sorry, I couldn't resist

  • YEAH!

  • nirvana are legends and so are radiohead so stop comparing and just enjoy the music

  • somebody knows why they don't play it live??? I heard something that it was 'cause they considered too commercial, but I'm not quite sure...

  • THUMB DOWN'D

  • This is the song Muse have been trying to rip off for years.

  • are you kidding?

The flashy, swagerring, "rock n roll" riff, the guitar effects, the driving loud drums, and the dramatic fasletto during the chorus...

    Tell me thats not Muse.

  • does that include anything from "Black Holes and Revelations"?

Muse sounds like Radiohead, so how can it be boring?

  • Alright well... lots of band have "rock n roll" riffs, barely any bands don't use effects. Most bands have loud drums. and falsettos aren't uncommon. Well done. And if you really loved radiohead and hated muse, you wouldn't complain that muse is trying to copy radiohead because that says that you see similarities between the bands.

  • You're talking about their "genre". I'm talking about their style. Listen to "Sober" or "Hyper Music" and tell me they do not fall on the same category as this song. I'm not saying they are the same songs, but christ, the similarities are there!

I somewhat like Muse. I enjoy listening to songs like "Yes Please" and "Escape", but It seems like in every song they do, they are trying to show off how great they are in writing fashy/epic riffs. They're just way too pretentious for my taste.

  • Alright, that's a respectable reason for not listening to them.

  • @touretteEd2

I like many songs of Radiohead, and many of Muse. I just don't like THIS song. (I don't care that it's an ancient comment...)

  • I love both, i mean, muse is great, so is radiohead, if you don't like one, stop whining.

  • fanfuckingtastic.

  • extreme rawk out!
