Just to put in about anime....its the way its drawn. Look at the eyes in anime then in a cartoon. Cartoons are more realistic then anime. Even anime like ouran high school host club no one can jump that high. But most of it is just they way its drawn which makes it different. In Japan anime tends to be normal everyday shows, they don't consider it for little kids. As for the comment of basement dwellers, go to comic con, thats alot worse. Plus people who find these characters hot tend to be able to see them irl.
@ScelesticFish Plus if you haven't noticed this era tends to be full of 'short bus kids' whom are as ignorant as you for not even bothering to really try and see it from their perspective.
