  • Sambo is the best grappling style for MMA.

  • @dagreatcapri82 whaaaaat??? havent you heard of something called jiu jitsu???

  • @dagreatcapri82 No, sambo can't be. Brazilian jiu jitsu is ultimate style for every situation. Sambo is second effecitve difence combat system, but in mma is better to be a bjj then sambo practicioner

  • @Boriskordic And why is that? Is it because more people are more knowledgeable of BJJ than Sambo or is it that BJJ Guard System is more effective in grappling and MMA fighting? Im aware of how effective BJJ is, Im also aware of how ineffective it can be in a real life fight or MMA fight. Every fight starts standing up, and BJJ has a minimal of high impact throws in their system (unless it's a hybrid system with Judo). Sambo has it all, big throws, effective striking and great submissions, = MMA.

  • @dagreatcapri82 No, it's becouse it's proved in reality that works better. Combined with judo it's even more effective (Shinya Aoki). Both are difence systems and have wrestling, judo and ground fight for basics, but on my opinion bjj is more popular and becouse of that more developed. Not saying that sambo isn't, just bjj is more worked out through years. You should know that bjj is modified judo, specialised for ground fight. Watch Renzo vs Taktarov/bjj vs sambo and alot more

  • @Boriskordic Renzo vs Taktarov doesn't prove bjj is better than sambo. If it proves anything, it's that upkicks will knock you the fuck out if you take a good one.

  • @HeFilmsTheClouds That's the beggining and Fedor vs Werdum proves it for sure and a lot of other fights. Now ok?

  • @Boriskordic How does a fight between two grapplers of different styles that ends in a knockout prove that one grappling style is better than another?

By your logic, freestyle wrestling is better than bjj because King Mo knocked out Roger Gracie.

  • @HeFilmsTheClouds I'm sorry I don't have whole time of this world to explain idiot like yourself why bjj is better then sambo. You are stupid and I think no one here can explain it to you. Now fuck of retard, go be stupid somewhere else. Stupid American deep shit brainwashed retard

  • I can only assume the person who hit dislike was looking for a tennis match

  • ...What the hell move is he doing at 1:34?

  • @charlieapeshit Omoplata

  • Man I wish there was a sambo school near me... It's got all the sexy throws of Judo and striking mixed in.

  • russian sambo has striking i think

  • is this freestyle or sport?

  • @bjapan96 sport

  • @bjapan96 sport

  • sambo was not just created from judo. It was also influenced by the folk wrestling styles from countries around russia. such as chidaoba from georgia (the country), kokh from armenia, and khapsagay from mongolia. some of those styles may have brought leg locks into sambo. guys stop talking out of your ass and do your research.

  • @karateartc there leglocks in judo too ^^

  • @TheObelix876 theres no leg locks allowed in judo

  • of course many things u are watching here belong to judo! sambo was created from judo... most throws u will see in sambo become from judo!.. ne waza or ground techniques are also judo techniques. The difference is that in judo leg locks are not alllowed as they are in sambo. Anyway arm locks are basically the same...ude garami, ude-highigi sushi gatame, etc etc....U can see these locks in bjj too! (im judo teacher).. greetings from argentina!

  • @johnsalchijohn two words, man:

    Bull

    Shit.

  • @Fludbucket The technique at 57 seconds appears to be a Judo throw called "te garuma" or "hand wheel." I don't know anything about Sambo or if it's called something else but I have been practicing Judo for a year and that's what it looks like to me.

  • how old is igor ?

  • I like the knee lock on 2:00. Do you know it's name?

  • It's a knee bar. I hope you're not trolling...

  • yeah!!! faggots,. sambo for teh win!!!

i like this funck fusion tune!! great stuff man!

  • Whats the technique used at 57 seconds in. I've grappled my whole live and have never seen it

  • im surprised there isnt a video about fedor on sambo

  • legende

  • est' chemu nauchitsa u nego. respect!

  • wow this guy's a beast

  • классный борец,молодчина

  • Why didn't he join mma?

  • @Coolnigga01 It's the Russian national sport, and he was a top dog. MMA came after and was in part derived from Combat Sambo. It would be like saying why didn't Mike Tyson join MMA. Why would he?

  • Ippon in Sambo is when the thrower stays standing and throws his uke flat on his back.JinsukeHP explained it very well.

Great background music, what song is that?

  • wow igor ist super!!!

  • wow,, sambo rules,,!!

  • amazing 0:29 reilly what do you call that?

  • footlock

  • What is the difference between sambo and judo? the points system?

  • just google the word sambo.

  • SAMBO IS THE BEST

  • Sambo was developed from judo and eastern european wrestling styles in 1938, in the soviet union. The points are different but reflect more or less the same values. Ippon or perfect throw is more difficult to get in sambo, so midscoring throws are more common. The biggest difference is that sambo is far looser in the allowance of throws and submissions, and groundwork isn't nearly as neglected. Leglocks are allowed, chokes are banned. In Combat Sambo, striking and chokes are also allowed.

  • @ex0ja 70% of judo is in Sport Sambo, the difference is that Sambo allows more time on the ground vs Judo (during competition) and it allows Groin & Leg locks such as knee bars, banana splits (groin attack), calf crunches, heel hooks and ankle locks, and some (not all) neck cranks + all of the hand submissions from judo (arm bar, shoulder locks, etc). In Sport Sambo, you can win by total throw (similar to Judo Ippon) but there's no 25 second pin Ippon, in Sambo you get points for pinning.

  • @pcjudosambo Thanks mate, I appreciate your comments. You have been the first person to properly explain this. Even googling it etc. didn't come up with an answer as definitive as yours. Cheers!

  • @ex0ja no problem. If I remember correctly you get 1,2, or 4 points for throws (take downs), depending on the quality of the throw .. you earn points. If you're standing up (and the feet are touching the ground) and you throw the opponent on the back, that's a win (similar to ippon) if the feet do not touch the ground and you fall when you throw, you get points. Pinning in Sport Sambo is given by 4 points (must hold them on their back for 15 seconds). After the pin, proceed to submissions.

  • @ex0ja Judo doesn't allow leglocks

  • @ex0ja Let me use your question for being a little polemic. First said that I practice and LOVE both sports. Imho, sport sambo is what, in terms of rules, sport judo should be. The IFJ has added a lot of little rules through the years which are making judo weak. I'm talking especially about the forbiddance of leg takedowns and leg locks... if we think judo is/derived from a martial art and those techniques are part of it, the rules look quite unrealistic. just my 2 cents.

  • @ex0ja sambo is like a mix of jiu jitsu and judo

  • @ex0ja some forms of sambo also has striking

  • Potent. Igor displays hydraulic-like power. I can imaging how strong he must feel when you come to grips with him.

  • Song is pretty catchy though, I might play it on my ipod next time I'm in a elevator, totaly

  • FANTASTIC!

  • Awesome vid. The music is "Disconnected" by RJD2

  • They could of picked a different song though, the song was like...elevator music

    lol

The matches displayed in the video makes up for it though!!!

  • you must be young, that^ is way too exciting for me.

  • Elevator music is exciting?

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ROTFl.

  • Ever been so confident that intensity isn't required? That sort of serious play feel? That's what that music is.

  • That dude is a beast!! Straight up...that slam at the beginning was incredible!!

  • !?!?!?!?!!? he makes everything look so easy awsome

  • music??
