Hey icehockeywarehouse. I just purchased the bauer vapor x5.0 skates from your site and they seem good. They fit pretty snugly. When i break them in will they open up or contour to my feet better? Also when i stand up straight i feel my toes touching the toe cap. when i bend my knees (hockey stance) i don't feel them. I think this is a good sign. Is it?
hey icehockeywarehouse. When the bauer NXG skates are coming out will the price of the bauer vapor x5.0 skates go down? when are the NXG skates going to come out? also if i buy a pair of skates on your site and they don't fit can i return them and change the size?
@seriously9889 They won't drop the prices on the Vapor line. Only the Supreme line. They are scheduled to come out sometime in April. Yes, we have free return shipping on skates if they don't fit.
I am currently wearing Bauer supreme one 80s. But they are beat up and I need new skates. Would these skates hold up to 4-5 skate sessions a week? Or should I move up to the 6.0s
Whats up icehockeywarehouse? I just tried a SR size 8 "D" width pair of x5.0's at a local shop and it fits around my foot pretty well. They're a real comfortable pair of skates. The only negative is that when i stand up straight (no hockey stance) the end of my toes just rub up on the end of toe cap of the skate (it gets kinda painful after a while). I think a size 8.5 skate will be perfect. How much bigger is half a size, and what exactly is bigger? The length, volume? What size will be good?
@seriously9889 This also works if you have wide feet. You can go up in size an additional .5 and go with the EE width. The width issue with the Vapors is in the little toe area of the toe cap angling in too soon. Adding the extra .5 pushes that angle out without sacrificing fit. For example, I wear a 10 shoe and an 8.5 skate. When I purchased these I went with a 9.0 EE. Fits awesome.
i'm training hockey for 2 years, 4-5 days a week. Till now i was using bauer supreme ONE20 skates ( for the beginner this skates were ok ), but now i wan't to buy more advanced skates, i choose this model, and i have problems with the size now, i don't know which size to buy from this model, and i couldn't try them because i need to order them from internet ( we don't have hockey shop near )
ONE20 skates were 8 R size, what size to buy from this model ?
@FTWbubacka If the One20's were tight on you, then you probably need the EE, otherwise the D should be fine. We offer free return shipping on our skates, so if you order from us and they don't fit, you can swap them out for the right size.
hey i have a question i play banatm a i go on the ice 2or 3 times a week and i play on my backyard rink everyday would these be good for 250$ or the 4.0 for 200$
is there a difference between the super stainless runner and the ls 2? I have Vapor 4.0's and was thinking about changing my blades to the ls2, possibly 2.1
I have a pretty solid background in roller hockey and have recently begun the transition to the ice. My first time on ice went very well. The biggest exceptions were the rental skates and their lack of proper fitting... as well as my ankles being a bit weak as I haven't played hockey in a few years. I'd like a snug/tight fit skate that will be able to take some punishment as I'm a physical/defensive player that loves to play aggressively. Would these be a good starting point for my situation?
icehockeywarehouse: how much more stiffer is the quarterpackage (heel) on this skate than the bauer one 20? I notice that while I play, the one 20's feel like they can't support me. almost feels like they bend. I need a skate that supports my 170 pound body. Are these good skates?
@seriously9889 These are a lot stiffer than the One20 skate. Thats more of an entry level skate so it's not gonna have as much support. These would be a good choice for you.
@sniperkid87 It really depends on how each on fits you. The X5.0's are a more aggressive skate and the Flexlite's have a more traditional stance. Also the Flexlite won't be as stiff.
@thehcm99 The X6.0 has several enhancements including the liner, outsole, boot stiffness, and quarter package materials. These changes make for a pretty big jump in performance, but the X6.0's are only about 10 grams lighter.
hey icehockeywarehouse... again :) I'm a senior 6 feet 170 lbs. (without equipment). I've been developing my skills for 2 years and i've been using the bauer supreme one 20 skates to develop. I don't want to act like a big shot but i've gotten a lot better and its time for new skates that offer a higher level of performance. Should i get these x5.0 or bauer one70 skates? should i stay with the supreme line or go to the vapor line? Also i have a size 10 to 11 size foot. what size skate? Thanks.
@seriously9889 If you liked the fit of the One20's I would stick with the Supremes. Bauer runs a size and a half down from your shoe size, so I would say a 9.0 would probably be best. Use your current skates as a guideline.
I used to play Juniors and currently own Vapor XXX's that are getting old...they were by far the best skate that I have ever owned in terms of comfort and performance...what would you reccomend as a similar skate from the vapor line-up (although skates have evolved a great deal)? Thank you.
i am not the greatest skater, still tuning my skills, would the 6.0 be to advance for me? i was looking at the 5.0 also( i have always used lower end vapors), please explain, thank you.
@MrSheftalia The 6.0's are gonna be pretty stiff but still great for an intermediate skater. The 5.0's are great if you don't want to spend as much but I'd recommend looking into the 6.0's
@swiftunicorn15 It's hard to compare because the XXXX skates are fairly old now and there have been a lot of minor advancements over the years. I would say the closest comparison to the new line would be the X6.0 or X7.0.
im using the x40's now but they are too small, and i need new skates.... i was thinking about getting these.. are they about the same level performance?
Hey Tyson, I am currently using some CCM vector 03.. pretty cheap skate... I have been getting some real bad bleeding on my heel from them (still after a year...) I just started playing about two years ago now and my skating has been improving a lot since in the last year. How are these going to compare to my current ones. Is the upgrade really going to make a huge difference in my game, and is my posture going to have to change a lot due to the switch from CCM to Bauer? Thanks!!
@jackntheboks That would be a pretty solid upgrade. The Vectors you have a fairly low level skates, so these skates will offer a lot more support. There might be a slight adjustment needed because of the pitch of the skates.
I've used vapors all my life until I got a pair of supreme one95's- The one95's gave me terrible lace bite. So I'm thinking about switching back to the Vapor line and these are in my price range.
My question is, will my size in my supreme one95's (9.5 EE) be the same for these x5.0 skates? Thanks in advance
@dee5555 I am not familiar with those Nike skates, but if they were high end skates at the time, then it would probably be a little bit of a down grade. The technology has gotten a lot better, but that level skate might be a little less than your old Nikes.
I have been using the same ole 652 super tacks for a little while now. The skate broke on me this morning and looking to get new ones. I was looking at the 5.0 is this going to a good fit for me? I play 3-4x a week in a college T3 league. I only have about $300-$350 i can spend need to know within the next couple days. I am a defense men 6'6 200lbs..
x60 or x5.0? since there similar in cost. I really need to know because i need new skates soon and i want to know which one is more lighter, comfortable, durable, etc
@SuperLeafsfan7 Yes, this skate is better in basically every way. The X5.0 is a fairly advanced level skate, while the X20 is more of an entry level skate. To name a few things, the runner is lighter/stronger, the quarter package is stiffer and provides more support, the inner foams are easier to mold to your foot, etc.
@500jawad Basically the same skate, the X5.0 is just revamped for 2011. If you can find the X40 in your size, I would try to go with that as it will probably be a little cheaper.
Hi I wanted to buy new skates and I was not sure whether I should buy the Bauer Vapor X50 or the new Bauer Vapor 5.0 is to purchase your help in advance thanks to profosionele nice Greetings Abdu
@MrKoreanHockeyguy I would probably go with the X5.0 because they should hold up longer and I'm guessing his foot isn't growing as much any more. The X4.0 are a little bit of a step down from the one70.
