The niqab or even the hijab (the full body covering or the head covering) has nothing to do with Islam. In the Qur'an neither are mentioned, nor is it mentioned that a woman must wear them at all. Modesty is encouraged, much like most other religions, but mainly Arab culture during the time had greatly influenced this form of dress. So taking it off would not be a form of blasphemy, as Shi'a Muslims rarely wear any head covering at all!

The niqab or even the hijab (the full body covering or the head covering) has nothing to do with Islam. In the Qur'an neither are mentioned, nor is it mentioned that a woman must wear them at all. Modesty is encouraged, much like most other religions, but mainly Arab culture during the time had greatly influenced this form of dress. So taking it off would not be a form of blasphemy, as Shi'a Muslims rarely wear any head covering at all!

@1237fa of the Abrahamic religions I would probably say Judaism (NOT because I'm Muslim) All 3 will defend their texts as non-sexist but explanations of Talmud say women get less rewards since they have fewer religious duties 2 fulfill. New Testament forbids women 2 speak in church etc. Quran gives equal rewards & duties & right to speak on many matters etc. Character limits keep me from further details but I will gladly answer if you'd like 2 continue a dialogue via PM. :)

The NT teachings are from the Pauline Epistles for which there is some suspicion. Now, when you have a book or set of books like the Talmud and Hadiths, you must understand that they are books based on traditions. They have questionable origins thus their claims are suspect at best; downright erroneous at worst.

Even if I had used books of traditions (hadith) 4 my examples, they still provide more right 2 women than Judaism or Christianity's books of traditions & are more clear on explaining when there are differences. I answered the question "what is the MOST sexist religion?" I really can't say for sure but I can say for sure it isn't Islam. If you doubt my answer it's because of Muslims actions, not Islamic scriptures.

Though men do not have to cover the face, you see woman will not rape a man who is showing his face and hair, on the other hand a man might rape a woman who is showing her face and hair, since men have less control in that regard.

That is rediculous first of all there are in fact female rapists who rape men and sexually assault them. Further more men have just as much control on whether they rape someone as women do. The hijab encourages rape because it views that women are dirty sex objects who are so tempting to men that they can not see them as sexually attractive and have respect for them.

@AakirX In fact rape is an epidemic in Muslim countries with many rape cases going unreported because in Islam a woman needs four witnesses futher more in countries like Sweden and many Scandinavian countries rape was almost nonexistant. However when they brought in Muslim immigrants that changed. Men and women are equal none should have to cover up any more then the other, both have control of their actions and both should be respected for their sexuality as well as everything else bout them.

We do not view her as a tempting sex object that must be covered up and away from men as you do. Here a woman has control of her sexuality and is encouraged to express it and not repress it as your evil cult demands. Further more evolution does not say that rape has a benefit. However in Islam it is women who are blamed for rape because they are viewed as the source of temptation and sexuality and for mixing with men.

@PeaceHopeLove2012 I think your interpretation of this video is different from the way it was meant. This is in large part my fault, as I had meant to make a follow up video explaining the reasoning behind it but never did.
I am very much of the opinion that anyone should be able to wear what they want. The problem is that in many countries in the middle east women do not have the luxury to choose. That is all I have a problem with, nothing more. I like the Hijab (especially on bad hair days).
