Why is it that you people feel that because the girl is black then she has to have a black prince? The prince's race was never identified and black identified people come in all shades(A.Keys,Vanessa Williams,Nicole Richie)Men of other races do find black girls attractive. You do know that Black people do not only date other black people, right?
Also, has anyone considered that Naveen is most probably of Arabian descent? His country, Maldonia, sounds kinda Middle Eastern. He *has* to be light-skinned, cuz that's his ethnicity.
Also, I think that racism is more notorious in the fact that people care at all what ethnicity/color of skin the couple is instead of focusing on the story. Why do we care what they are? The point is *who* they are. Even if they're only cartoons ;p
I think it is important to recognize who the characters are, the point being stressed here, however, which I think you're missing, is that people of color have being literally DYING to see reflections of themselves on film, presented in a positive manner.
But there HAVE been positive representations of black men in disney films before. Women are the only one's who've been left out till this point. Even in PatF Tiana's father is a Chef. Tiana aspires to be like him.
Dr. Sweet in Atlantis is a big black smexy doctor. And there are more, especially in Disney Channel shows.
Skin color in the choice of the prince is a superficial detail as it's really not important in this movie. They fall in love as GREEN people not black or white or whatever! :D
the obsession with light skinned African American women... but I like the fact that the princes ain't so black as it goes back to the film's theme that you can't judge a book by it's cover... it's about a girl falling in love with a slimey green frog
HONEY you were fierce on BET last week!!! your hair will be my hair soon..thanks sistas!

I like it that the oldest person was the most down with interracial relationships. :3
All I'm saying is that love is inevitably blind. If you're too caught up on making sure your prince is black, you might just miss out on someone.
