@AsianAndrew1993 while yes green house gasses would still be created because of emission producing energy plants, think how much less would be produced if 500,000 cars stopped producing the gas? ponder my friend ponder
This station is part of the "Hydrogen Highway" in the Netherlands. There are a number of car manufactureres that already make these cars. "We" americans can't have them, because oil companies OWN this country.
That's a lot of math, Freeze video at 0:41 , 0.40 Euro is 0.05kg worth of 'gas'... You have fun with the conversions of Euro to USD, and kg to gallons.
What is the liter per minute consumption rate of hydrogen of these cars???
How much liters per minute of hydrogen do these cars use in normal driving???
The device on my motorcycle produces over 40 liters per minute of hydrogen from water.
The device on my motorcycle also produces over 60 liters per minute of HHO gas. Is this enough hydrogen to run these cars??? Signed Norman Williams XMARINE. No joke!!!
@Jupiterironman It is pointless to count amount of consumed hydrogen in liters (by volume). You should count it by mass - notice, 1 kg of hydrogen gives you 2.5 times greater amount of energy (about 79415kJ) than petrol. But there is some important problem with hydrogen - it is really difficult to keep it in some container, especially for longer time. That's simply because it is the most simple molecule in our world, so it is smaller than any other, and it can go away from container.
@OYeahan There are some materials researched that act as a hydrogen 'sponge' ... however they are not easy to make ... or just use some exotic and rare raw materials... the best example of this is the HydroStik from Horizon Technologies... pretty neat low pressure container...
This is BULL SHIT! In fact BMW HOPES to have in 20 years a H distribution sistem. This car is a BMW 7 series and it cost 40-70 000 euros. It BURNS Hidrogen and that means the consumption is similar to gasoline. In the movie we see that H cost 8 euro/kg if you need only 50 kg of H you will spend 400 euros. Today price for gas is almost 1 euro/liter. THIS IS TOO EXPENSIVE!!!
To make hidrogen you need nothing special - water and electricity. Hidrogen is Cleen and this should be no tax for polution, this why it should be no more then 0,5 euro or less. With a huge profit for the producer and state.
In fact is a VERY simple proces, you just need wather, wires, some DC current, eventualy salt and a piece of aluminium. It is a verry ineficient method but...for everybody.
Honda made FCX Clarity with a domestic device (sold separately) that produce hydrogen, if you add water. Of course the car and the device are EXTREMELY expensive.
Of course you realised I am not a native english speaker, I learned english in school and I hate people that looks at the "spelling" not at the ideas transmited by writing. If somethig new, like hydrogen usage, economic light bulbs, solar pannels, eficient rechargable batterys or any other thing that will improve life and poluate less is sold with 1000% profit - we have a BIG problem FOR WIDE ADOPTION.
You know that for makeing an eficient solar wather heater, you cannot spend more then 250 USD(for materials bought from a regular store), but are sold to end-user with 2000 USD?
assuming ( EXTREMELY unrealistically ) zero energy loss (not like typical 20% efficiency of gasoline auto) , 1/2 hour daily commute , and typical horsepower AMERICAN automobile , shall we say ,
VERY CONSERVATIVELY , 2500 square feet of photovoltaic panel would be needed to haul an American's butt to his job at Wal-Mart where he sells Hannah Montana T-Shirts ?
very safe, there is no way the conditions for nuclear fusion could occur in a car, (a h bomb usually requires a nuclear fission detonation to kick start it)
@HmmContemplates Agreed, anyone saying nuclear fusion can happen are just showing their ignorance and need educating. If you look at the extreme conditions to creat fussion natrually, like a star, I guess the conditions are a bit less in a car. Jupiter is made of mainly hydrogen and helium and is way bigger than the earth and seems to have been stable for billions of years.
That would be hydrogen 2 and 3, also known as deuterium and tritium (not normal hydrogen), and like the other post said, you need the heat in an A-bomb within an H-bomb for it to work to begin with.
Hydrogen is an effective, clean, and sufficiently powerful fuel source. The only difficulties come in how to cleanly and economically produce and store it. About 70% of the electricity generated in the U.S. comes from burning fossil fuels. Neither fuel cell nor hydrogen powered cars are "green" if the electricity used to extract or charge them isn't too.
Don't be Shocked. Stanley A. Meyer Patented the Water Converter system in 1989 and the US bought it from him. Tesla Invented free power systems back in 1900...
Selling power and fuel is part of the monetary $lavery $y$tem.
Good day to all of my fellow Christians, firstly my apology for being out of topic. I came here to remind you people that the judgment day has started already. Please depart from cursing, smoking, violent entertainment, fornication, occultism, and for watching pornography etc. lest you be found not worthy to enter the kingdom of God in the Day of Execution. Thank you for your kind consideration.
Here in the U.S.A. some people are so cheap that they will hook up a Shop-Vac hose in a steel cabinet and claim that Hydrogen will come out of the hose.
ok so if the world can run on watch why doesnt it -_- i think its a great idea it would be the same as fuel but alot better... i dont understand why the world just stops makeing fuel powered cars and just make hydro? some1 explain plz lol
lol they want you to believe you have to fill your car up dangerously at a station for hydrogen. While it can easily be made. We should be filling our tanks with straight h20 then turning it into hydrogen on our own. I guess they just want to own us forever
It's easy to produce, just not so much on a large scale. Make your own with a glass of water, 9 volt battery, some wire, lead and a plastic bottle lol
hydrongen is only sought after when there is an oil crisis. When gas prices soared in 2008, hydrogen became affordable. Now that oil has dropped once again, hydrogen is not as attractive anymore.
Also, the BWM is probably the worst example of a hydronge vehicle ever built.
Congrats, most if not all of that hydrogen was produced by fossil fuel in a more environmentally damaging way than just burning the gasoline directly lol. Until hydrogen can be produced in large quantity using renewable resources cheaply, this technology is worthless in so many ways. Have a think about it, why do so many oil companies favor hydrogen and do all they can to kill electric, which is far more environmentally friendly even if using modern coal fired power plants.
Who would pay for Hydrogen when theres working cars that have a built in hydrogen generator that produces the hydrogen fuel on demand? The oil companys do not want you to know that you can power your existing car on hydrogen for free thats why its not readily availble and as soon as someone has the courage to make kits that will fit any model car and are not swayed by oil company bribes and threats we will all be breathing easier.
The world insists in hydrogen because the Anglo-Saxon and the Americans are willing to kill the entire planet in order to assure the monopoly and profit with oil.
Why do you think hydrogen and others alternatives aren't already available?
joking aside, there are tons of alternatives, but when you talk alternatives you have to realize that you are asking trillion dollar companies to just step aside. people die for less, someday they won't be able to stop the number of people that will learn how to create alternative fuels on their own.
Billion dollar company. You have a good point, but the monetary system is a game where just a few can win: or you are born in a golden cradle; or you work your ass as if there was no tomorrow, or you have the luck! Either way we are focusing our entire existence in pursuit of money, leaving aside those little things that gives you pleasure - like sleeping or sex! We have reached a point of practically no return...I think.
I just don't feel comfortable with the idea of empires, that's all ;)
billion dollar companies PER MONTH. Have you don't some rough calculations about how much money everyone gets that's involved in oil. Lets say at 2 dollars a gallon. The US population is 305,692,926 lets cut that in half and round to account for children and those that don't drive. 150,000,000 drivers in the US fill up their cars on average every two weeks. So every year in the US alone they pull in 3,600,000,000 dollars. And these companies are worldwide! I stand by what I said, trillion $ co.
Why does the world insist on hydrogen fuel, or fuel cells to eliminate pollution from our vehicles!? Why havn't the automanufacturers figured out how to eliminate pollution without switching from gasoline!? I know that comment sounds outrageous, but I have discovered a way to do just that. I am currently rebuilding the engine in my vehicle with more agressive specs. I am halfway to completing the rebuild. And when the engine is complete, it should have a volumetric effeciency of 100%.
Pollution is only part of the problem. with the prices of oil rising it's getting harder to making a living. Than you add to the fact that oil isn't a renewable resource eventually people are going to be forced to consider other options. If we wait until the oil is gone not only travel will be an issue but the economy will take a large hit.
actually hydrogen only has higher energy when measured by mass. In energy density per VOLUME even if you compressed hydrogen down to a liquid it would have a third the energy density as gasoline, and we tank up our cars in volume not mass. Also, we don't compress hydrogen to a liquid to use in vehicle, we just compress it to a point where the energy density is a sixth that of gasoline.
This is all irrelevant, though, once we develop an at home method of generating hydrogen. once the lack of efficiency is outweighed by low cost we're set. none of that will happen until hydrogen power becomes mainstream. it's a neat little catch 22.
Funny how hydrogen can be created as the vehicle is moving. Most of the videos and readings tell me that two volts between even two wall switches in a plastic or metal tube will create hydrogen gas, enough to power the vehicle. Someone at work said that hydrogen cars are smoke and mirrors, liar, he is mason, the all seeing eye on the dollar bill. George Washington was a mason, he told John Quincy Adams, not sure about that, one of the guys at work said it is smoke and mirrors, masons.
Stupid mason Illuminati shit fuckers. Albert pike and the other Illuminati idiots created communism, feminism and other shit, they r goal is still to destroy the roman catholic church.
do you know what am i afraid about? i don't think these engines could sound as exciting and nice as a petrol engine, im not sure they could sound as good as a petrol engine, and for me, as a petrolhead, the driving experience will be ruined
I may be wrong but I believe hydrogen is more combustible than gasoline and burns faster.I saw a hydrogen fuel cell bus in Berkeley,Ca, it sounded like a regular bus. liquid hydrogen engine should sound more aggressive than gasoline.look up on youtube BMWs hydrogen racecar sounds good 2 me! I agree part of the sportscar experience is a sweet sounding engine.Thats why the Tesla electric car doesnt appeal to me .Unfortunatly it seems like they have a ways to go to get hydrogen cars 2 go fast

Isn't faster burning not so great in a internal combustion engine because of detonation. Also I was thinking the whole reason for Hydrogen as a fuel was going to be for emission purposes and being more enviornmentally friendly.
Im not a chemist so I wont debate the combustibility of Hydrogen .I also am into Hydrogen for its clean emissions but other benefits=no more oil wars, and sports car fans wont have to drive silent, godzilla movie mobiles!
I totally agree on the riddance of oil wars. However, I kinda like the thought of electric vehicles and am looking forward to the fuel cell vehicles. I admit i do love the rumble of a nice sports car.
research the HINDENBURG to see how combustible hydrogen is.the key to HHO in a combustion engine is that it burns more completely, cleaner (waste is water vapor and oxygen), AND MORE READILY than gasoline, which is about (ballpark figures) 40% power co your car in the form of combustion and 60%dirty, smelly, benign waste.fuel injectors on modern cars are planned to fail and increase wear and tear on your engine at the expense of getting gas mist into the cylinders more quickly.
I respectfully dont believe this. Do you know the implication of such a thing being possible?
I would build one of those and hook it up to my generator in my back yard...i would get electricity in my house for the cost of water!!! No more EDISON bills...Gasoline, coal, and natural gas would almost be obsolete.
If it really was possible I would think that at least 1% of the population would have some kind of water engine to do work.
You find this hard to believe because you think this is virtually free energy (well, at the cost of water). But no, it is not free energy because you are consuming energy to convert the water into hydrogen and oxygen molecules, the resulting hydrogen being the fuel. The energy to do this comes from whatever electrical source you are using. So instead of spending money on gasoline, you're spending money on water and electricity. Electrolysis has been around forever.
to bboydru, liquid hydrogen fueling stations harvest the hydrogen onsite in turbine type buildings that look like automatic carwashes at gas stations. rite on hydrogen stations property.so cost of water is a moot point and yes it does take energy to make and distribute liquid hydrogen, And gasoline=oil pumping, shipping, refining, and delivery by truck and.Oil wars! doesnt seem like gasoline is such a great deal either. If&when energy industry gets onboard, hydrogen will become financially feasible
idepenent people with the know how are to blame....why dont they introduce it to us who would use that technology. rough as it may be...i would use it, buy it...
Use renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal, etc. to power the electrolysis and make the hydrogen fuel. Can anyone tell me if there is something wrong with this, wouldn't this be completely clean?
Those that gripe about the Energy used to store the Hydrogen - get a grip at least if the energy is used through solar, wind or wave then there are no pollutants in the air - and when the car drives past my house i'm not breathing in pollutants. I say we need the hydro car sooner rather than later - for our health and the planets health
Its just another internal combustion engine using a clean burning fuel that was created using dirty hydrocarbons. Hydrogen is not the answer. Hydrogen is loved by the auto industries because they want us to use the internal combustion engine. Use it and maintain it. 100% electric is the future but governments cant tax it the way they tax fuels now. The auto industries hate the idea of 100% electric cars. Almost zero maintenance and no performance add-ons required. Where are the electric cars???
Ow yeah my friend it's all about the profit anyway. Go to work to pay for the car you use to go to work! The future is working at home! Even better, in the future you wont have to work at all! I'll just stay home smoking weed and having sex. Getting out of home just to go to the beach or to play football(uk type of football, not a group of males jumping on top of each other like a bunch of party boys![phase originally from a american I can't recall the name])
Yes, solar is amazing and a great source of alternative energy, my point is that right now hydrogen is about six times more polluting than gasoline due to the conversion process. Solar is a completely different story. As far as the hydrogen being "potentially far more valuable in the future," that could be said with any future technology, no one knows where technology will go. Germany is also a leading producer of wind energy and technology. Good points though.
So many here talk of hydrogen as though it's a flawless idea. I agree, alternatives are best, but does anyone know where how the hydrogen fuel is made? Hydrogen isn't an energy source; it's an energy carrier.
Fuels (primarily fossil fuels) are dumped into making hydrogen work. Right now, hydrogen is more polluting than conventional gas in the sense that the conversion process is so much more detrimental. Sure, the final product has no ill effects but you aren't looking to conversion...
Within 20 years solar and wind technology will be so cheap they'll be giving it away in cereal packets. Hydrogen production from seawater will cost virtually nothing.
Germany and Japan are already well ahead of most other countries in renewable energy and hydrogen.
We will soon all be flying to work in our hydrogen powered flying cars. The futures bright, the futures hydrogen.
Awe, damnit BMW. I was hoping I wouldn't have to get out of the car

No joke!!!
Jupiterironman 2 years ago
@Jupiterironman It is pointless to count amount of consumed hydrogen in liters (by volume). You should count it by mass - notice, 1 kg of hydrogen gives you 2.5 times greater amount of energy (about 79415kJ) than petrol. But there is some important problem with hydrogen - it is really difficult to keep it in some container, especially for longer time. That's simply because it is the most simple molecule in our world, so it is smaller than any other, and it can go away from container.
OYeahan 1 year ago
@OYeahan There are some materials researched that act as a hydrogen 'sponge' ... however they are not easy to make ... or just use some exotic and rare raw materials... the best example of this is the HydroStik from Horizon Technologies... pretty neat low pressure container...
ogatobranco 1 year ago
This is BULL SHIT! In fact BMW HOPES to have in 20 years a H distribution sistem. This car is a BMW 7 series and it cost 40-70 000 euros. It BURNS Hidrogen and that means the consumption is similar to gasoline. In the movie we see that H cost 8 euro/kg if you need only 50 kg of H you will spend 400 euros. Today price for gas is almost 1 euro/liter. THIS IS TOO EXPENSIVE!!!
filipiliescu 2 years ago
To make hidrogen you need nothing special - water and electricity. Hidrogen is Cleen and this should be no tax for polution, this why it should be no more then 0,5 euro or less. With a huge profit for the producer and state.
filipiliescu 2 years ago
yes but to convert h20(water) into h (hydrogen) u need a lot of energy which just offsets the efficiency of it
xxalmasterxx 2 years ago
So just burn tones of coal or metan gas just to have a 8 Euro/ liter hidrogen...
filipiliescu 2 years ago
In fact is a VERY simple proces, you just need wather, wires, some DC current, eventualy salt and a piece of aluminium. It is a verry ineficient method but...for everybody.
Honda made FCX Clarity with a domestic device (sold separately) that produce hydrogen, if you add water. Of course the car and the device are EXTREMELY expensive.
filipiliescu 2 years ago
@xxalmasterxx that is where comes solar
bryantbamw 1 year ago
the more cars run on hydrogen the less it will cost to mass produce.
Urban509 2 years ago
1) Spelling, check it.
2) Because wide adoption = lowered prices.
Essentially, hydrogen follows the electric bill.
AceGec3D 2 years ago
Of course you realised I am not a native english speaker, I learned english in school and I hate people that looks at the "spelling" not at the ideas transmited by writing. If somethig new, like hydrogen usage, economic light bulbs, solar pannels, eficient rechargable batterys or any other thing that will improve life and poluate less is sold with 1000% profit - we have a BIG problem FOR WIDE ADOPTION.
filipiliescu 2 years ago
You know that for makeing an eficient solar wather heater, you cannot spend more then 250 USD(for materials bought from a regular store), but are sold to end-user with 2000 USD?

As hydrogen is use to make bombs, hence the H/bomb,how safe is a car that is run on hydrogen?
changei 2 years ago
very safe, there is no way the conditions for nuclear fusion could occur in a car, (a h bomb usually requires a nuclear fission detonation to kick start it)
HmmContemplates 2 years ago 11
@HmmContemplates Agreed, anyone saying nuclear fusion can happen are just showing their ignorance and need educating. If you look at the extreme conditions to creat fussion natrually, like a star, I guess the conditions are a bit less in a car. Jupiter is made of mainly hydrogen and helium and is way bigger than the earth and seems to have been stable for billions of years.
234566tgvb 1 year ago
@HmmContemplates But hydrogen is highly flammable. Think hindenburg at every Hydrogen station. Smokers can avoid petrol. Its hard to avoid a gas.
niffer452 1 year ago
That would be hydrogen 2 and 3, also known as deuterium and tritium (not normal hydrogen), and like the other post said, you need the heat in an A-bomb within an H-bomb for it to work to begin with.
Raptor03042 2 years ago
Hydrogen is an effective, clean, and sufficiently powerful fuel source. The only difficulties come in how to cleanly and economically produce and store it. About 70% of the electricity generated in the U.S. comes from burning fossil fuels. Neither fuel cell nor hydrogen powered cars are "green" if the electricity used to extract or charge them isn't too.

TwoOpposableThumbsUp 3 years ago
hydrongen is only sought after when there is an oil crisis. When gas prices soared in 2008, hydrogen became affordable. Now that oil has dropped once again, hydrogen is not as attractive anymore.
Also, the BWM is probably the worst example of a hydronge vehicle ever built.
WhatIThinke 3 years ago

Fioravanti 3 years ago
don't hate because we rock at war.
joking aside, there are tons of alternatives, but when you talk alternatives you have to realize that you are asking trillion dollar companies to just step aside. people die for less, someday they won't be able to stop the number of people that will learn how to create alternative fuels on their own.
MichaelJPierce 3 years ago
Billion dollar company. You have a good point, but the monetary system is a game where just a few can win: or you are born in a golden cradle; or you work your ass as if there was no tomorrow, or you have the luck! Either way we are focusing our entire existence in pursuit of money, leaving aside those little things that gives you pleasure - like sleeping or sex! We have reached a point of practically no return...I think.
I just don't feel comfortable with the idea of empires, that's all ;)
Fioravanti 3 years ago
billion dollar companies PER MONTH.
MichaelJPierce 3 years ago
Why does the world insist on hydrogen fuel, or fuel cells to eliminate pollution from our vehicles!? Why havn't the automanufacturers figured out how to eliminate pollution without switching from gasoline!? I know that comment sounds outrageous, but I have discovered a way to do just that. I am currently rebuilding the engine in my vehicle with more agressive specs. I am halfway to completing the rebuild. And when the engine is complete, it should have a volumetric effeciency of 100%.
extremedrivr 3 years ago
Pollution is only part of the problem. with the prices of oil rising it's getting harder to making a living. Than you add to the fact that oil isn't a renewable resource eventually people are going to be forced to consider other options. If we wait until the oil is gone not only travel will be an issue but the economy will take a large hit.
buckykit 3 years ago
True. Hydrogen has more potential energy than gas, is renewable, and with mass production will be very cheap.
madpaintbalerx 3 years ago
actually hydrogen only has higher energy when measured by mass. In energy density per VOLUME even if you compressed hydrogen down to a liquid it would have a third the energy density as gasoline, and we tank up our cars in volume not mass. Also, we don't compress hydrogen to a liquid to use in vehicle, we just compress it to a point where the energy density is a sixth that of gasoline.
jverz 3 years ago
This is all irrelevant, though, once we develop an at home method of generating hydrogen. once the lack of efficiency is outweighed by low cost we're set. none of that will happen until hydrogen power becomes mainstream. it's a neat little catch 22.

Isn't faster burning not so great in a internal combustion engine because of detonation. Also I was thinking the whole reason for Hydrogen as a fuel was going to be for emission purposes and being more enviornmentally friendly.

research the HINDENBURG to see how combustible hydrogen is.the key to HHO in a combustion engine is that it burns more completely, cleaner (waste is water vapor and oxygen), AND MORE READILY than gasoline, which is about (ballpark figures) 40% power co your car in the form of combustion and 60%dirty, smelly, benign waste.fuel injectors on modern cars are planned to fail and increase wear and tear on your engine at the expense of getting gas mist into the cylinders more quickly.

I want to believe, but I dont know.
thecrazyaviator 3 years ago
You find this hard to believe because you think this is virtually free energy (well, at the cost of water). But no, it is not free energy because you are consuming energy to convert the water into hydrogen and oxygen molecules, the resulting hydrogen being the fuel. The energy to do this comes from whatever electrical source you are using. So instead of spending money on gasoline, you're spending money on water and electricity. Electrolysis has been around forever.
bboydru 3 years ago
to bboydru, liquid hydrogen fueling stations harvest the hydrogen onsite in turbine type buildings that look like automatic carwashes at gas stations. rite on hydrogen stations property.so cost of water is a moot point and yes it does take energy to make and distribute liquid hydrogen, And gasoline=oil pumping, shipping, refining, and delivery by truck and.Oil wars! doesnt seem like gasoline is such a great deal either. If&when energy industry gets onboard, hydrogen will become financially feasible

While that option would be relatively clean to existing cars.
1) It would require over 3-4x the infrastructure for the same distance traveled.
2) The lifecycle emissions of even a solar panels aren't zero. And whatever those emissions are would be tripled/quadrupled by hydrogen.

Fioravanti 3 years ago
Yes, solar is amazing and a great source of alternative energy, my point is that right now hydrogen is about six times more polluting than gasoline due to the conversion process. Solar is a completely different story. As far as the hydrogen being "potentially far more valuable in the future," that could be said with any future technology, no one knows where technology will go. Germany is also a leading producer of wind energy and technology. Good points though.
Cloud3205 3 years ago 2
So many here talk of hydrogen as though it's a flawless idea. I agree, alternatives are best, but does anyone know where how the hydrogen fuel is made? Hydrogen isn't an energy source; it's an energy carrier.
Fuels (primarily fossil fuels) are dumped into making hydrogen work. Right now, hydrogen is more polluting than conventional gas in the sense that the conversion process is so much more detrimental. Sure, the final product has no ill effects but you aren't looking to conversion...
Cloud3205 3 years ago
Within 20 years solar and wind technology will be so cheap they'll be giving it away in cereal packets. Hydrogen production from seawater will cost virtually nothing.
Germany and Japan are already well ahead of most other countries in renewable energy and hydrogen.
We will soon all be flying to work in our hydrogen powered flying cars. The futures bright, the futures hydrogen.
