  • That doesn't test roof strength AT ALL.

  • @LoveShock2 They don't go to 100% robotic assembly lines to preserve jobs.

  • I love how the speaker was wearing safety goggles during her speech. True dignity.

  • Really? $10 million to get some vehicles to roll over. Just go to a county fair rollover contest.

  • such an unsatisfactory rollover crash test. GM GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!

  • it cost $10 million for a ramp and a net.

  • @harrisboy42 yeah thats it champ 10 mill for a yellow net and a ramp, the bulding was free along with all the computer systems and testing equipment..fuckin idiot lol

  • looks like a fun ride if you ask me.

  • putting yellow nets to slow the car down isn't realistic, not even a full roll over. knowing gm they put race crash barriers on their concrete walls for crashtesting to make the car have less damage

  • @ajbauto

The nets aren't involved in the crash event -- they're just there to contain any fragments. As for the rest of your comment, it makes no sense. Please learn at least *something* about a subject for which you plan to unleash a critique as if you were an expert -- it could mislead others who might not realize you have no idea what you're writing about...

  • Gm has horrible scores in the iihs crash tests for most of their vehicles, what a lousy car maufacturer!

  • Well seems that they make the vehicle safe enough its just the stupid fawkers not wearing seatbelts that die. stupidity shouldn't survive.

  • Kudos to GM for taking the lead on this....doesn't it seem they should let the car roll further though? What if the fatal damage is inflicted on the second or third roll? They'll never know if that netting retards the rolling motion. Our federal 1 1/2 times body weight roof crush standard is a travesty.

  • @fenderstratguy kudos to gm for leading this? thats why every 80's model mercedes has been tested for roll overs and is made with a roll cage made into the car?

    gm sucks, just like ford.

  • @fenderstratguy There are tests for each of many categories based on # of complete "rolls." In the vast majority of rollovers the vehicle stops its motion between 1-2 rolls. In belted cases, the injury values are nearly always (>98%) governed by the more intense angular momenta transferred to the occupant during the first (& possibly second) full roll. Fatal rolls are usually the result of occupant ejection, the vast majority of which occur during the 1st or 2nd full roll.

  • lol, the airbag inflates until the yellow net. they don't wanna show what happens afterwards.. airbags deflate and chance of roof collapsing.

  • @mywJOE That makes NO sense!

  • Wow, GM cars have big yellow nets in case they roll over? :P

  • apa ni...test tergolek aje...nak jugak lihat bila langgar dinding batu.

  • i love the logic there crashes that end up in a roll over is rare but leathel claiming 10000 lives each year 10000 isn't exactly a small number

  • 10000 is not alot compared to the number of people that die in non rollover crashes

  • wow i that's a lot of crashes over there then. I'm actually from Australia and i recon you will find that we have less then 10000 crashes a year

  • around 42000 a year is what i read

  • video portrays accurately what happened to GM

    crashed and burned and rolledover

no amount of airbag[bailout] could save it

    welcome the new car company

    Government Motors

  • haha YAY

  • GM: "Government Motors" Now owned by WE THE PEOPLE and run by Obama. Isn't Socialism Great?

  • catch about about GM Safety rollover procetion?

You gotta cough up the extra cash

    just to get it. sux

  • do they use the net to keep it from rolling over more? that would effeect the tests

  • All of which you wouldn't have had americans not invented the automobile.

  • America DID NOT invent the Automobile. That's what DumBoma Thinks. He also thinks there are 57 states.

  • And it's a damned good thing. They need to do what they're good at, providing stupidly simple vehicles that last decades, are easy to service, cheap, and put good men to work assembling them. It's all they're good at, they might as well polish it to a shine you can put makeup on with. Idunno if you've been paying attention, but every time the US automakers try to pointlessly beat EU/Japan at their own game, they fail epically, but when they make simple, reliable vehicles that last, they sell.

  • Spamming technology doesn't make a car better, you know. If anything, knowing GM, it's going to make them worse.

If it works, don't fix it...besides...having a 50/60% automated assembly line as opposed to a fully automated one means you are putting good men to work that would otherwise be jobless. Helps the economy, you know.

  • we were going to the coast last sunday and we made it through a rollover and only my husbond and i were wearing our setbelts the rest were throun out of the van god was with us

  • jarzadze is right, for example Volvo has the most advanced crashtest center in the world owned by a car company, typical american ego: claiming to be the most advanced in everything...

  • @tkd1985 As long as we have the most advanced military which we do, is all that matters to me.

  • 0:17-0:24. Like oh my gawd.

  • GM dosent know crap about crash testing and BMW already started thare rollover facility in germany before Gm did

  • Sshh, its ok to be jealous.

  • ???, im not jelous, im just saying its more advanced

  • Whats with the net? it doesnt do shit. It just makes everything look more dramatic.

  • european automakers had in-house roll over testing for many years - americans are years behind in safety if this type of testing is new to them

  • Gm is a big shit.. false safety, rally security is a german cars or japanese

  • I have a friend that rolled his cts 4 times and not one airbag deployed...Why would you spend 10M to look at airbag safety in a roll over when they don't even work. My friends car sensor came on that said service airbag. He took it to the dealership and that fixed it so the service airbag light didn't come on. Less than a month later, rolled 4 times and not one airbag deployed. GM said, "They aren't suppose to deploy in a rollover. The roof of the car was level on top of the steering wheel.

  • I'm sure I don't fully understand the test, but what's the point of 'rollover testing' if they don't roll the cars over? All I saw was a car that tipped onto its side.

  • Of course they probably rig their results to make themselves look better. I'd only trust the NTHS if I was looking for results.

  • Your %100 correct!!!

  • Comment removed

  • gm kicks ass

  • some cars the other sucks

  • So when is GM going to build a facility that makes cars worth buying?

  • Comment removed

  • Really, these tests are not suffecient, for one there are no net in a roll-over and second if gm doesn't stop with the cheap stuff they would'nt have to show a kiddy rollover like that. If you replace that net with a tree like simulation or wall than we could see how it keeps someone in the vechile...until then garbage.

  • Hmm.. I ever see one car/suv/truck roll/flip like that...

  • have you seen a car/suv/truck flip at all? with your own eyes

  • LOL yes, I rolled my 78 going about 4-5mph.. jacky..

  • I have rolled my 78 going about 4-5mph.. I have done several 4x4 com's.. Have you sir even seen one car/truck roll? Which you didn't see on your t.v. or on the web?

I hate people that question shit when they them selfs have no fucking clue..

  • im sorry i was curious, cause i havent seen a car flip yet. hope you were ok

  • Sorry didn't mean to write two, but yes I was ok.. I rolled 4-5mph..

  • I believe Volvo has an extensive crash test facility. See the roll over test of the XC90.

  • They should plant a couple trees and add some fire hydrants at the end of the test track.

  • @expert1221 also they should have you crossing a makeshift intersection, actually fuck that just throw you in front of the car.

  • there are no nets to catch the vehicle in the real world you stupid fuckers

  • duh. it helps stop the vehicle dumb ass

  • you're the dumbass, because if they were testing the way they roll in the real world there wouldbe no nets to save the muther fuckers from rolling to a stop on their own like on the road

  • Volvo has had a rollover test center for years... the whole building moves to simulate different situations... GM is behind.

  • no they have not i dont know where you get your info but GM was the first to do this for of testing

  • I saw this video over a year ago but i cannot find the origional!

    /watch?v=qIQ2VI7pJ1o

  • boo chevy and all of gm. LITTLE BOYS WEAR BOWTIES, BIG BOY DRIVE BIG TOYS

  • why 2012, why not now. stupid. just stupid.

  • You're an idiot. Do you know what it takes to do what they're doing. Adding rolloever airbags, or anything for that matter requires a redesign of certain areas and upgrades in computers, etc. Things don't just happen instantly.

  • GM sucks VOLVO ROCKS!

  • GM owns SAAB; Ford owns Volvo. Two completely different Swedish companies.

  • i agree with you but also gm owns cadillac, hummer, opel & daewoo ;)

  • @SABAM25177 sabb is not in caps

  • @roozie11 its not spelt "sabb" either lmfao. i bet you feel like a real smartass now dont ya

  • @SABAM25177 Ford does not own Volvo.

  • @LoveTheCity123 ford owns your family . stfu

  • @infantry031 hahha we do own your family @LoveTheCity123

  • @HDvideoproductionz haha...... nobitchyouarelost.

  • @infantry031 I dont think so I own you to I am going to sell you to toyota haha what now fucktard

  • @infantry031 I dont think so I own you to I am going to sell you to Toyota haha what now fucktard and Ford doesn't own Volvo and if you think I am lying my dad works there haha

  • @HDvideoproductionz suka dik for bus fare then walk home, your dad works for ford therefore they own his family, which is you bitch.

  • @HDvideoproductionz Ford did own Volvo, they sold the to Geely Automotive in 2010.

  • Um this is about crash tests, not how gay gm is... but yeah gm is gay lol

  • There is a question being asked to GM shareholders on Yahoo! Answers.

If you own GM stock, go to "Yahoo! Answers" and search for "GM Shareholder proposal for action vote?"

  • i still say these guys have the best jobs ever

  • Yeah, I drove the Aura, and I'd pick one up right now over any crappy japanese piece of shit. I own a Volvo, which is known for their seats, and I think the Aura had awesome seats, and so did the Outlook I sat in. By the way, even Consumer Reports (I.E. the most biased magazine ever!) can't deny the greatness of the Outlook. And to top it off, it looks awesome! In a Motor Trend survey, Accord owners Voted styling as the #2 Worst feature, and warranty as #1. Looks like GM Wins!

  • Anyone who says Volvo sucks is a tard, they invented SEATBELTS!

  • umm Hummer? correct me if im wrong but i think a Hummer H1 is waaaay more heavier than any other SUV out there on the market

  • You bought a Hummer and you are bitching about gas mileage? (As if you didn't know it would get crappy MPG before you bought it).You must really be stupid.

  • Yeah, you can't judge GM by the Hummer, if it's not the asshole of GM, it's at least within farting distance. Drive a Saturn Aura and tell me GM sucks. Bitch.

  • Yeah thats definately true. I love it when these morons say "GM sucks." They never have any reasons to back up their statements. I recently had the opportunity to test drive the aura and man was it NICE. I would love to buy one but my Pontiac only has 60,000 mi on it so I see no point in trading it in just yet.

  • Lincoln was the first manufacturer to offer Anti Lock Breaks way back in 1969

  • It was actually mercedes benz!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gm holds the patents for the the rollover avoidence \\\systems that toyota use the first airbags were also invented by general motors the 1973 olds toranado had them GM is on a come back roll it is the only american mega car company that is turning a profit right now and it also looks like it will buy chrysler real soon as far as volvo and mercedes goes volvo is owned by ford motor company and is built for nerds mercedes is of course a respectable auto maker for those who can afford them.

  • You seem to be forgetting GM lost 10.6 billion in '05 and a further 2 billion in '06. Since when are they turning a profit? (use full stops)

  • lol we can lose all the billions in the world we are still going to be around

  • durrr in the 4th quarter of 2006

  • How old is this video clip? Hopefully couple of years, otherwise poor GM.

  • gm rules general motors invented abs brakes and stabibli track so screw you all

  • ABS comes from the German and means AntiBlockier-System, adapted (for use on cars) by Mercedes Benz.

  • MORON! Do you honestly believe GM invented ABS or ESP?. Bosch invented ABS (acronym anti-lock braking system)in 1978 and was first introduced by Mercedes-Benz. ESP (acronym for electronic stability control)was inventing again by Bosch in 1995 and again Mercedes had it on their cars first. Stabili Trak is just a stupid name for ESP made up by GM's marketing department. ESP also goes by many, many other names depending on the manufacturer.

  • GM es muy buena... yo tengo mi suburban super segura... quien diga otra cosa ni modo! Viva México!!

  • This rollover test is nothing compared to what Volvo and Mercedes does.

  • that is correct..but atleast GM is doing something to START to prevent death by rollover.

  • GM sucks

  • you are gay

  • youre a queen of queens

  • nice comeback lol ur pathetic

  • ur an asswipe

  • "GM sucks." wow arabianstig, way to show your lack of intelligence. My buick regal with over 200,000 mi still has its original motor, tranny and paint. I bet you have never even ownrd a GM vehicle.

  • yes fortunately enough i only have one GM which is a stupid gas guzzling tincan. and i never had any problems with my Japanese cars. They are luxurious and are worth the money and have a great resale value.

And ur telling me about intelligence? o_O. ur stupid enough to believe that disliking a company is directly related to one's intelligence...u need to goto school dude =/

  • So I guess crapping on an entire automobile company with a two word statement is intelligent? Truly intelligent people know how to formulate an objective opinion that considers both the good and bad sides of an issue. Sure, GM has put out some real stinkers, but so has Toyota and Honda. As for your attack on my intelligence, I am a second year college student at USF. Don't preach to me about intelligence when you can't even capitalize, punctuate, or form sentences corrctly.

  • the toyota you own sucks even more. GMs worth more than saudi arabia :(
