no it was just the album, first they were called 'painface' then it was 'meld' then they named them selves 'slipknot' which was actully a title from one of there songs from when they were 'painface'

They also had The Plae Ones. Meld was the very first name, cause before Anders even (In 1991), they had some guy with the last name Meld as a singer. Than they broke up and 2 or 3 years later, Clown reformed the band, but with Anders instead.
