  • Awesome voice on the Jean Valjean! Especially at "Now you are here, again beside me"

  • I'm sure they had to speed it up a little; I dunno if most high school students have the patience to sit through 3+ hours of Les Mis. Still, not bad for a high school drama team.

  • The guy's voice is good....shame you can't see his face...

  • what high school is this?

  • awful. soooo soo bad.

  • it is so hasty

  • les mis is the best musical ever, but its so sad. :'( sob.

  • I wanted to say to "Marius": "Hey, dude. Your wife just keeled over. Pay attention."

The singing and music was good except it seemed that everything was set at too fast a tempo and they brought out the rest of the cast too soon during the song. Was the director missing his football game or something? :D

  • lol he's more interested in seeing eponine's ghost.

  • Good voices!

  • very good singing but production wise, its missing lot, this had alot of potential. not bad tho

  • technically Javert is not supposed to be there cuz its "heaven " and he is supposed to be...somewhere else...but i guess when its a smaller cast you need as many voices as possible

  • if you're talking about the guy who's just standing to the side when val Jean is talking to Cosette, then i don't think thats Javert. When Eponine and Fantine come to take val Jean to heaven or whatever, that guy goes and comforts Cosette. That's why I think that thats Marius, not val Jean

  • No, I know thats Marius, but I think the guy to the right of Fantine in the blue coat at 1:49 is Javert. Who else would wear a coat like that??? And the people singing at the end are supposed to be in heaven. He isnt technically supposed to be there but when its smaller casts they add him. I dont think its fair when they exclude him. He is my favorite character. :)

  • yes,the guy standint to the left at the start is Marius.

  • I can see how the inclusion of Javert would be disruptive to the characters at this point, but I think it's a misconception that he is evil and doesn't make it to heaven. Stars reveals his inner workings and is one of the best character songs written for theatre. It reveals that his motives are pure even if they are misguided. In the 2nd act, when he learns that morals aren't black & white, it destroys him. He's refreshingly complex compared to the typical good guy/bad guy formula of Hollywood.

  • Well said, and I agree. His songs are some of the best of any musicals.

  • If you're going to be a stickler about it, he committed suicide and therefore cant get into heaven.

But i like him to, so screw the rules!

    :)

  • O.O Wow, I want to live in the world where you count this as a smal cast! lol. :P

  • this is a really fast version!

  • Hey it could be worse. I just watched one where Val Jean was a girl.

  • Pretty good for a HS production, but dynamics and HARMONY would make it 10x better.

  • this is one the most emotional shows i have ever seen! this summer, while i was part of Cinderella as the Prince at a community theatre, i had to help work the spotlight for the High School group performing this show. i was balling at our first show when they started singing One Day More. now that i think about it, it is five times better than Sweeney Todd! i hope we do that, or Les Miserables when i'm in High School!

  • just a note on this. we had a recording of the music which is why the tempo was off. yay high school.

  • this was chandler high school

love, little baby untrained fantine circa 4 years ago.

  • this really wasn't that good. listen to East Islip's performance

  • i wish our school version was this good haha

  • Mineola High School rockedddd.

were amazingg. i heard that some ppl got scholarships just from preforming that.

  • It would be much better if that one kid got a haircut.

  • Wait this is Cranford High, right? I'd feel rather silly if it wasn't...

  • How many awards did we win for this again? I remember people telling me that we won a ridiculous amount for this show...it was either this or Scarlet Pimpernil...

  • i saw CHS, interpreted it as High School and ALMOST clicked away... but i am REALLY impressed, GOOD JOB!

  • this is actually really good ....

  • i love this song but i wish they had done the crecindo. that is what brings the chills

  • that is exactly what i was thinking... there is no variation in the dynamics...

  • Wow, the tempo was pretty hot. I would have liked to hear more rubato. Milk this scene!! This is the scene to ensure that nobody leaves the theatre with a dry eye.

  • it was good. a little fast, and the music wasn;t as dynamic as the broadway would be, but since its a smaller theatre, i din't blame them. still, bravo!

  • the Eponine/Fantine duet was a lot better than i thought but i feel like that part was a little too fast

  • fantastic. i cant wait until i perform this at my school in a few months :)

  • Very good performance, I was wondering if Javert was meant to appear as a spirit at the end since he wasn't really a bad guy. Even though I've never seen a live preformance I love watching these videos on you tube. Joly-Good

  • The leads are all fantastic, but the chorus sounds extremely American. Also, LONGEST STAGE EVER! OMG, the whole cast fits on it in a row.

Also, yes, it's fast because it's the school version. Am I right in saying that you used OrchExtra?

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • The duet between Eponine and Fantine was beautiful ( :

  • Haha... snape.. lol

    Snape, snape.. severus snape..

    :D

  • where was this played??? does anyone know of a vid frm the angel players les mis???

  • Anyone else think Valjean looks like Professor Snape? :) Love the long hair, but for heaven's sake get a ribbon for it!

Pretty good production for a high school show, though. I couldn't get tickets for it in time. Sorry I missed it!

  • Excellent! All the leads are brilliant.

Only problem, like others have said, its too fast.

    But other than that; excellent.

    Especially Fantine.

  • Woah... Too fast, too fast.

  • Had it lasted a minute longer they would have sounded as if they were on helium.

  • It's wonderful! Beautiful voices...I just want to pull that boy's hair back...Oh that is the only part I hated...

  • UGH, remember, when yall are saying this is fast, that's probably because it's a High School. Mine to be exact, it was AMAZING. Everyone did sooo good. :)

  • OMG they are singing fast - or do i have the "slow version"-album? :)

  • It took waaay too long for Marius to go comfort Cosette! Lol. Good ensemble though.

  • i know..my god...if he's really in love with her he wouldn't just let her lay there crying her eyes out! lol good though

  • why are you singing at like 100000 mph way to face bad bad bad

  • Wow Cosette has a truly beautiful voice.

  • For all of you that are getting down on the production... I was in it... trust me when they started singing they were quiet... and it grew and grew... that hall carries sound like no other... so what may sound not soft actually is... and there was a lot of emotion in it.... believe me... this is a horrible recording of a great production... the video did absolutely no justice to it

  • IS THIS IN CHATHEM?

  • WAS bECCA wOODS IN THIS?

  • That's what I call an ensemble! :D

  • WAY TO FAST....ITS A Wonder that they were able to kepp up with that...I saw the Renopening on Broadway on its second opening night...and i\I can tell you its soooo much smaller thatn that...and they at the end should have been so much louder...

  • The voices are pretty good- I really wish that I could see Jean Valjen's face when he was singing to Cosette. And the tempo is really too fast. Wow...that's a huge stage :-)

  • Wow, your Cosette and Valjean are really really good! My school is doing Les Mis at the very moment (I'm in the orchestra for it) and overall it sounds very good.

  • was this on fast forward ?! great voices

  • Great, indeed.

  • i remember seeing it at chs. that was the first time ive seen les mis and it was AMAZING.

  • Man, I love youtube, that I can watch my favorite moments again from my favorite Broadway show! I got to see it twice live, but that was years ago. I'm sitting here crying and freaking my daughter out.

  • jesus FRIG that was amazing

  • Way too fast, and that causes the actors to forget all of the acting...

And the ensemble should've been barely a whisper when they start singing... However, the ending, with 40+ people, it should be MUCH more powerful

  • Oh and I forgot, the ensemble was just wonderful!

  • WOW! It was great! Jean Valjean, what a great voice! Cosette, perfect for the role! and once again Fantine had the most wonderful voice! She is allmost as good, as the one on the 10th aniversery dvd :D she's just wonderfull!
