This is an amazing video; as a former national champion/All American gymnast, I still firmly believe MLR's title was a joke....no way she should've won as she was not clearly the best gymnast in the field..not even on that day...

@katie66bug I would have to disagree. In the world of gymnastics as well as track (sport I do), its not about the record you have going into that day, its how you compete THAT DAY!!! While some will say that MLR was not the best in the world, on that day she was and she won that gold medal fair and square. Others may have beaten her 8/10 times but she was the best that day. She won and she was the first. Who knows what USA gymnastics would be today if she hadnt won the gold

I was six years old when the Magnificent Seven won gold in Atlanta. I still have the tape with Kerri's famous vault.

Incidentally, I went to the same gym and high school as Sam Peszek. ;)

I am sad that you left Carly out - that was a real renaissance for Team USA after the disaster of Sydney.
