I've got a gsxr 600. I've been tryin to pop wheelies but can't get the hang of it. how long should you hold the clutch in for?

@os9198 Depends on how fast you're going. First gear not much. I have an SV650N and I only have to rev to 3-4 rpm and let the clutch out a little faster than normal at about 5mph or less.

At 3rd I've found that I have to rev considerably higher just to get the bike up a decent amount. A GSX-R or R6 might have an easier time doing this, though, since mine is "only" a V-Twin.

The amount of time you hold it in is less important than when you let it out and at what rpm.

Sweet video! I cant wait to get my daytona. i've been shopping around for a 600 and as soon as i sat on the 675 i fell in love. Im a taller rider, 6ft 2in and i felt at home on it. Im moving up from an sv 650 which is still an awesome bike. I ll then have 2 of the greatest bikes! Once again nice vid

Damn that's nice. Wish I was a man who had the stature to ride that kinda bike. I'm 6'7" and about 280 so the 675 was not an option. The Sprint is what I bought and is great for me. Several add-ons and I can get the front wheel off the ground in 3rd. I will never have the control you do-------props.

You need to find the balance point and know how to control your speed. Learn how to maintain a wheelie at 15mph or so with out speeding up... It takes a lot of practice and the want/desire to learn from others.... Listen to other people, study their style, and take your time.

but its kinda hard not to accelerate in my wheelie when im in first....

You need to find the point that will allow you to maintain the speed.(i.e. front tire is really high in the air and be ready to use the rear brake if you go too far) I always use the clutch to get things going, and I do the same for 2nd and 3rd. Power wheelies w/o the clutch lead to excessive speed and flipping over due to too much throttle, and not enough experience

It comes up easy in second around 45 mph slip the clutch a little. I could do this with my bike stock nd now I can do it without the clutch with the arrow exhaust.

Yeah I got the full system. I dunno what you are doing wrong, Mine comes up quick and easy with the clutch in 2nd. You can also try like he does in some of these, take second up to around 60 and stand up and bounce and pop the throttle if you think you have enough control. I looped my R1 doing that about 2 months ago.

the exhaust has nothing to do with getting it up. Your slipping the clutch to slowly or with not enough rpms. Dont rev it to high or you'll flip it so keep going small till you get a feel for it. Screw the exhaust it does snds better but if you want help getting it up change your sprocket

He clutches everyone of his wheelies. You should be clutching every wheelie. If your having problems geting second up work on clutching. I ride with this kid all the time & he can clutch up second right to ballence point with no issues & ride standups smoothly for miles.
