3 things- 1) The headset stays loose while wearing it unless you have big dumbo ears, 2) The volume has to be all the way up for the sound to work the way it should, 3) The cord is thin and of course not long enough for a lot of people so make sure you measure the distance before buying. I tried to plug in my turtle beach headset but the wii didnt recognize it. I have the x11 model which has a usb stick as well as mic and headphone jacks which is probably why it didnt work.

@MyEyezHurt it didn't work because nintendo only has drivers in the wii for products that they created. if u want surround sound and chat, ur gonna need 2 headsets at once, the one for game audio and this one for chat

You can't talk or anything through it. Only you can hear the game. Damn Tritton, downing us Wii gamers by saying "Compatible with the Wii"

@metorphoric What are you playing? black ops? If so, theres probably no one in the lobby with a headset but you can still talk and others will hear you but if they dont have a headset they carnt reply.

in the 2e game i playd it worked fine but the game ended and when i got back in the menu the simbol of the headset whas gone i restarded my wii ..... still noting

( that's something like a frequency to put it in lamans terms ) but it is possible for Nintendo and any 3rd party companies to realise an update to including the new device. it's a simply madder of a custom code being added example Wii Speak A10000001 Wii Headset A10000002.....!

Ok I plug mine in and it has the blue light and everything. Its not muted. White mic shows up online and when I talk it turns green.  But I can't hear anything and I don't think anyone can hear me. Anyone know anything? I tried using both ports and turning wii on and off. Nothing works.

I was on zombies once and told someone to jump and he did so I think others might be able to hear me but my earpiece is just broke. I now know it was opened when I had bought it and the packaging and stuff was removed from the box already.
