the best subway/metro transit system in Canada. Whenever I visit montreal for vacation (that would be every year b/c I just love Montreal) I just grab my Opus card put money in it and I am on my way out visiting all the beautiful places. Montreal Metro is sooooo fast. At times I felt its going to bump into sth. Love it.
@AntoDamicoShow Yes. However I find communicating with the drivers a huge problem. They do not like when someone speaks english to them and gives a bad look. Don;t like that.
@AntoDamicoShow even if they are i always felt they deliberately did it. I always hoped I get a driver who is not a french canadian. in fact I have had drivers from haiti and China and they were much nicer than the french ones. no offense.
@AntoDamicoShow between Davisville and St. Clair it goes up a steep incline. if going north it travels up the tunnel until outside and then goes up a hill for about half a minute until it's above Yonge street, and then the track splits up into Davisville Yard.
@AntoDamicoShow well... The steepest incline the TTC has is a streetcar incline, and since streetcar tracks can operate subways on them because they are the same gauge in track, I'd say, If you stand on your head at the entrance of that tunnel and then measure that with a protractor, it's be just under 135 degrees (can't have a 90 degree cliff, people will die)
I actually like the pronunciation of this voice more than the blue line lady.. I like how nice and slow she says "La STM vous souhaite la bienvenue a bord..prochaine station Monk"... the blue line one says it too fast ... However, I do like the blue line's "terminus..merci d'avoir voyage avec la stm..bonne soiree" voice more... I WISH I could find the ALL the different voices for the "bienvenue" AND "terminus" message..they sound different depending on the line's colour
Comme toujours sur la ligne verte, la machine qui dit le nom des stations de fonctionne pas toujours... et la voix de la dame est affreuse...... vive les MR-73 et la machine enjouée qui marche tout le temps ! :)
Shouldn't I have heard, "Doors closing, Fermeture de la Portes"

i thought the rubber wheels prevented the trains from going above groud? (to avoid getting stuck in snow banks)
howardkevinm 1 month ago
@howardkevinm If it were to go above ground the steel wheels would go into use, they are located behind the rubber wheels.

@AntoDamicoShow we have PRESTO now and our Toronto Rockets are faster than MR73s
88 km/h vs (wait, how fast can MR73s go?)
GordonFreemanD40 9 months ago
@GordonFreemanD40 72... but it's all about acceleration and braking... so 50's technology still beats the toronto rocket lol
AntoDamicoShow 9 months ago
@AntoDamicoShow MITRACs have better technology and better braking, as well as acceleration

@Balarick I have a permit from the STM, but nobody will say anything if you do film, everybody does it, the guards just pass it off as tourism.
