My grandfather served on the USS Nevada (BB-36) and was on her when the Japs attacked Pearl. Then he stayed with her until they decommissioned her in 1948. My father served aboard the New Jersey (BB-62) in Korea. Anchors Aweigh!

The necessity of some wars this country has fought may be debatable, but others were forced upon us by other counties essentially trying to take us over. And read the news, US Navy hospital ships, construction crews, and supply ships are consistently providing disaster relief to other countries following crisis. There's nothing "Stagnant Minded" about being proud of one's own country.

The helping of other nations is simply charitable on the part of the US Gov and ultimately you too if you pay taxes in the US. And I never implied that killing being necessary was good. Look at historical attacks on the US Navy which resulted in the declaration of war: Attack on Fort Sumter - Civil War. Sinking of the USS Maine- Spanish American War. Attack on Pear Harbor - World War Two.

ok, now hear this! i hear alot of bs about rides and who's better. i spent 4 yrs USN and one thing you don't have do is brag how good you are, US armed forces are the best that is all you have to say. and just for the record, the only branch that lost more personnel then the US NAVY during WWII was the ARMY. so yes we gave rides to some of you but, many of those that did give rides never made it home, so have some respect!

Nothing worse than "educated" 19 year old nobodys, preaching against patriotism and America, living at home or going to college suckling at the tit of American Freedom which was won by brave fighting men of the armed forces. The best part about the Navy is the fact they habitually have helped foreign countries in times of crisis. I guess the USA isn't all so bad afterall, is it emo kid?

@DaAllBrainyGuy killing has been necessary in the preservation of the United States since it's beginning. The necessity of some wars this country has fought may be debatable, but others were forced upon us by other counties essentially trying to take us over. And read the news, US Navy hospital ships, construction crews, and supply ships are consistently providing disaster relief to other countries following crisis. There's nothing "Stagnant Minded" about being proud of one's own country.

The helping of other nations is simply charitable on the part of the US Gov and ultimately you too if you pay taxes in the US. And I never implied that killing being necessary was good. Look at historical attacks on the US Navy which resulted in the declaration of war: Attack on Fort Sumter - Civil War. Sinking of the USS Maine- Spanish American War. Attack on Pear Harbor - World War Two.

The mistake was done in 1939, not 1933. Hitler did a lot of good initially, bringing back Germany from starvation and mass unemployment. The only mistake was starting the war and all that followed it.

We the People need to play an active role in our government, after all that's what the Constitution directs us to do. Also, think about who is first to help out around the globe when their country is in trouble.
