Can you demo the mud switch working properly on the SSU ie clean, neck pickup, playing some nice jazzy chords? Just curoius about how it was intended to sound for jazz. Also, how do these compare to a standard 6120? I'm saving for one and I like jazz.
Sorry - I dont know any Jazz chords ! Only joking. Im afraid jazz is not my cup of tea, but im sure there are other vids on Y.Tube that will show you exactly what your looking for. The standard 6120 will have the great tone and build quality of any Gretsch, possible not the sperzel locking machine heads, but try one at your local store and you'll me amazed at how versatile the 6120 is. thanks for your question though. regards
Hi Carl, I looked. None of the SSU with the mud switch engaged, or any jazz on the SSU unfortunately. Closest I could find was other 6120's like Chet Atkins. Guess I'll have to wait until I finish paying mine off and get to play her! If you change your mind, I'm not going to judge your playing, you could just play Gmaj7, Am7, Dm9 and start again....Thanks for your great vids. You rock. That $30,000 one does sound incredible.
can you play rock on a gretsch? i know harrison, but like nirvana and acdc? and i also know that malcolm young uses a white falcon, but mabe one of you got some rock experience with this one.
OH YES ! A Gretsch sounds awsome playing rock thru say a marshall amp turned up, take a look at my latest videos and you'll see what i mean. happy rockin buddy
Hey Thanks buddy, I wanted to get the point accross that Gretsch guitars are so versatile and great for rock, blues Rockabilly or the traditional Chet Atkins fingerpicking style that they are often associated with. So thankyou for picking up on that.
I tried a guitar like that its fantastic sounding and looks amazing, if only I could afford one :(

@peder, Malcolm Young from ACDC plays a Gretsch. Pics I've seen up close, he's ripped out the neck pickup!
